The second time we used them, we set up the appointment and shortly before they were supposed to meet us, they contacted us to say they needed to reschedule--which was fine, things come up and we understood. However, the THIRD time we tried to use them, they totally ghosted us. My husband had arranged for us to meet them at an apartment we own in Ames to move some furniture for us. Due to our previous issue with them rescheduling at the last minute, he started trying to get ahold of them before we left Omaha for Ames (texting and calling)--no response. When we finally arrived in Ames, after multiple unanswered queries, the appointed time came and went and Jake nor Jose ever showed up. We ended up contacting All My Sons Moving and asked them to help us out. All My Sons Moving was GREAT--Zaylan and Rick, showed up, did what we needed them to do--they totally saved us. Had we not been able to get someone else to do the job Jake and Jose had said they would do, we would have spent 6-hours on the road back and forth from Omaha to Ames and accomplished nothing. So, two out of three times we attempted to use Jake and Jose, they did not show up. My takeaway; Jake and Jose cannot be depended on to show up when they say they are going to and good luck getting anyone to answer the phone at their "office" when they don't show up. Move on...pun intended...and find a more reliable moving company in the Ames area.

I had to do it because my belongings were in a storage unit, and the storage facility wouldn't allow ABF to drop the trailer on their property. Make sure you compare prices because it may be cheaper to not use their recommendation--at least that was the case with me. Tip: depending on what day you move (friday vs. earlier in the week) the price varies. Also, if you book online, you receive a $25 discount.

Dori responded w a quote of 105/hour (as shown in the attached screenshot). When I called to schedule, it was a whole different story. $105 is not the flat rate. They wanted to charge $50 extra per heavy item (despite the items being listed in the original inquiry), $.05 / mile to get from their office to my house and back, and starting the $105/hr rate when they leave the office (not when they arrive at my house to start work). Then, they keep the hourly rate going until they arrive back at their office from my house. I did not hire them and was disappointed by the lack of transparency in our initial communications. Instead, I went with a company that stuck to their original quote without hidden fees.
