The customer service is terrible. I went in there on June 30 to mail a the second half of my property taxes that needed to be post marked that day. They post marked on July 1. Since that bill was technically late I got a letter in the mail that says I owe 300 more dollars to the tax office. The post office is incompetent. My driveway/front door is inaccessible? My front door is less than 20 feet from a main road and is always accessible. My front door is less than 100 ft from the neighborhood mailbox. More like all of the people who work for CS USPS are chronically lazy and just opt to not deliver packages. This happens every few months and always on a Sunday. It amazes me how inept some people can be at their jobs and yet still get paid. 5-star always for our impressive rural carriers over the decades and for the passport services offered here. 1-star given the overworked, understaffed office and such management that allows for long slow lines out the door during demand times. A decade (or longer ago), this was THE shipping service for most everything, esp. USPS/other tubes 24-36" long 3-6" wide with Saturday delivery and rural pickup ease. Now the white collar geniuses have closed local sorting facilities & N.HOU gets it all, sometimes if only going down the street or next town over. Let's make it worse! Local management treat tubes, even in USPS dress like red-headed-step-children and this applies to even neighbor towns like Austin, certainly Calvert. Last attempts Priority Tube was 7-8 days. we requested a one week hold on our mail while we were out of town. Now after returning the post office continues to hold our mail beyond the duration we requested. As in the past, they will continue to not deliver until we physically show up and request our mail in person. We'll ask WHY they didn't resume delivery and they will lie to our face and say we requested permanent hold on our mail. This is an industry that needs automation to remove employees. read more

If I could give this location zero stars I would. First reason being that I've had a package in transit for some time now and it was at the CS location on my tracking then tells me it's on its way to another facility. Where the hell else does it need to go besides my doorstep at this point? I've been waiting patiently and have called customer care in regard to my issue. I fully understand that it's not entirely their fault that they can only obtain any information. I also tried calling the facility to see why they have moved it to another facility when it's been in its proper location 4 days without delivery. When I called the phone just rang then went to a dead end. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I've spent good money on this package and they can't seem to do anything about let alone our local usps can't answer their phones. Fire the whole place and get new management! I've been nice. Now I'm mad. Get your crap together CS usps. If my package is lost how can I even trust them for further deliveries????? Update: I had called the Amazon customer care as the manager had told me that the package was not on the pallet when delivered but Amazon told me otherwise that it had been sent to the carrier via usps. This post office is HORRIBLE. First off all, they did not attempt to deliver 3 of my packages. I know this because there were keys left in the bigger mailboxes. Then, they proceeded to mark them as "ready for pickup" at a different post office (why would I order online if I wanted to go get them in the first place?). I contacted that post office, and they informed me that it was a glitch in their system and that they don't have my packages. They gave me the contact number for this office, and they have not answered ANY of my calls, despite being open. In fact, the amount of times it it rings varies, and sometimes I can hear them pick up the phone before putting it down and ending the call. Now, I have to wait an additional 2-3 days to get my packages, as this is how long the service request can take (I had to call the main USPS customer service line and wait 30 minutes for a call back to be told there is nothing else that can be done besides this). read more

I've lived in CStat for awhile now in a couple of different places. The carriers themselves are great (my first one was the friendliest and most competent of any carrier I've ever had), but the employees in the facility work really hard as well. They always have at least 3 windows open, they are able to move people through at a good speed and still manage to stay cheerful even by the end of the day, which is when I usually have to go in. I had to call the office this morning to track down a package. The USPS tracking got all jacked up somehow and finally showed it arriving in CStat this morning. It didn't say anything about "out for delivery," so I wanted to know if I could just come by and get it since I was supposed to have it on the 21st (it's the 27th today - absolutely needed for tomorrow). She explained why the package got stalled out and told me it was out on the truck and that it would be at my house soon. I've emailed and called the Big Overseeing Eye of the USPS and complimented this office and a few workers by name before, so it's not like I'm writing this review just because I'm happy I'm getting my package today. This is a consistent level of great service from friendly people who appear to actually care about the people they serve. Total opposites of your typical government worker. I've had nothing but disdain for any other post office and its carriers in every other place I've lived, except here. read more

Can't get my mail out of my mailbox because the guy the have to change locks is backed up. They said it would be done Thursday and now it's the next week Monday. I went in again and they said they have no idea when it will be changed now so I asked if I could get a business name or phone number for the lock person to contact them directly and they said they don't give that out. They basically told me to stand outside by the mailbox and wait for the delivery driver to come and ask them to unlock it. It's already been 6 days with my package held hostage in my mailbox. I run a business that requires me ordering different motorcycle parts so this is really frustrating. Gonna try to catch the delivery driver today. Wish me luck. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. The carriers at this post office are consistently putting our packages in the wrong mailbox. My birthday gifts, anniversary presents, etc ALL late because of this post office. It is extremely frustrating. When I try to call their phone number, no one answers EVER. Horrible customer service. I tried to get a package held online, but there were technical difficulties. So, I decided to give them a call and got it held. Seemed pretty simple, until I saw my package was delivered to my front door. Had to call them over 10 times and was on the phone for over an hour just to talk to someone that didn't care about my package. It was extremely frustrating because I didn't have a friend available until 6 hours after it was delivered. Usually they will leave a note if no one is home and I would pick up at the post office, obviously wasn't the case this time. And guess what? My expensive package was stolen. read more

I've lived here a year and a half and so far I have had: an addressed correctly package returned to sender with no delivery attempt for no one being present to sign for it....we were home all day waiting, a package with a forgotten apartment number (by sender) returned to England before the post office reopened to pick it up...they are supposed to hold it several weeks, a packaged returned to sender for no reason address completely correct, and today our mail was not even attempted to be delivered. I was waiting for a wedding package and replacement credit cards they got out for delivery at 8:30 am and at 8:30 pm tracking updates to say we can pick them up tomorrow. No one in our complex had mail delivered! Unacceptable! This post office needs to be investigated. More problems here than my previous 6 years in Houston. If possible do not use. I was a little peeved when the delivery date of a package I needed was pushed back in the middle of the day it was supposed to arrive. I was even more peeved when I called this office at least 5 times and was met with a busy signal... Is it 2003? Does the usps have a single home phone in their office? But I finally got a person, and instantly everything was met with friendly and enthusiastic help. Phones can easily be bought, the customer service is where the real value is! I was told that my packaged would likely be delivered at the original specified date but asked if I would like for her to go check the outgoing deliveries anyway? I was surprised at the offer, and how long she took to find it for me in the bins of packages. I then was able to pick it up from a woman in a red vest, with glasses, and grey hair who was just as cheerful and competent. I also happened to be behind a man who seemed to be very irritated at first , but when he walked away he thanked her profusely and seemed as surprised as I was at her helpfulness! Honestly I expect any interaction with USPS to be a headache, and when I saw the line that day I expected to worst, but the pleasant service and the employees who went out of their way to help really made my day! Whoever you are, employee to the right of the line on 1/19 with a red vest grey hair and glasses, you rock! It's nice to leave a post office in a cheerful mood! Thank you! Disclaimer: I harbor no ill will toward any of the employees or management of this location. We are more than our jobs, and each of the employees has been relatively friendly during interactions. Now that I've said the above, this post office is awful. My wife and I requested them to hold our mail and correctly filled out the associated forms (with confirmation in-person by employees on location). We repeatedly (on the form and verbally) confirmed that we would pick up our mail after we returned. Upon returning, we went to pick up our mail. The post office had lost all of our mail. They assured us it would show up eventually, they just didn't know where it was. No problem. Just a little extra wait. We returned several days later to see if they had made any progress. After arriving at the counter and speaking with one of the (friendly) employees, I waited 12 minutes for him to find his supervisor. She came and told me she had just called our delivery agent. Our delivery agent delivered our mail, in the freezing rain, against our wishes, WHILE I WAS STANDING IN THEIR POST OFFICE TRYING TO PICK UP MY MAIL BECAUSE "She knew you were looking for it." Not only was our mail soaked (including the Hold Mail Request specifying "Customer will pick up all accumulated mail upon return" on top of the pile), we are now missing several packages as the apartment complex where we live has several package thieves, WHICH IS WHY WE TRIED TO PICK UP OUR MAIL. The persons involved were nice but utterly useless. Don't hate on the employees, they handle enough anger and impatience. Do, however, take your business anywhere else. Though this is the worst experience we've had with this location, it is far from the only complication/poor service we've received in the past 3 years. read more

I usually only review places when they're exceptionally good, but this place was so exceptionally bad that I felt the need to let others know. Pros: good location, faster line than most other post offices Cons: very rude service, both in person and over the phone. The first time I came here was to pick up a package that was never delivered to my address. I was home all day the day it was "delivered" but there was never a knock or ring at the door. When I checked the mail that afternoon, I had a pink slip saying I missed the mail man and needed to pick up my package. I have two dogs, and both bark anytime someone knocks/rings. So there's no way the mailman actually came to the door because I would've at least heard my dogs. He probably was in a hurry and just slipped the pink note in my mailbox instead. Regardless, it was inconvenient for me to have to go pick it up, since they're only open when I'm working. But it wasn't bad waiting in line, and our mailman is pretty nice so I'm not holding that against them. However, I will not forget my most recent experience with them! I ordered a package on Amazon, and it said it'd take no more than 2 weeks. So 2 weeks goes by and I look online to see where it was with the tracking number. Apparently it had already been delivered, yet I received nothing. I live in an apartment and have had numerous packages in the past, and not once have they ever been sent to the office first. So, naturally, I assumed it wasn't there. After checking with our neighbors to see if they got it by accident and making sure I sent it to the correct address, I decided to call the post office to see if maybe they still had it. I thought it could be like the last time, where the mailman gave us a pink slip, and perhaps I never saw it. So when I called, I spoke to a very rude lady who talked to me like I was stupid. Once she said they didn't have it, I asked how could it be that my package said it was delivered, yet neither I nor they have it. She then told me to check the office at my building. I told her I would and thanked her for her suggestion, and then I asked what to do if it wasn't there. The lady very angrily replied and said "I can't believe you haven't checked with them yet. I'm not going to talk about this until you have." Then she hung up. I have never been talked to so rudely over the phone! I really couldn't believe how ugly she was to me, all while I was being polite and cooperative. Well, I did check with our apartment office and it was NOT there. I just assumed maybe it was stolen or something. 6 weeks later, I got a knock on the door from a total stranger. He said the package was delivered to him even though he lives about 3 miles away and apologized that it took him so long to bring it to the right address. Thanks to this kind person, I now have my package. But the USPS not only sent my package to the wrong address, but was very rude to me about the whole thing, and the lady acted like it was my fault. To me, this is just another example of why government-run businesses are the worst. read more

I have never been as disappointed with a business as I was the CS post office... I made an order for natural iron online as I have several times before. The package is a tracked package so when it showed delivered I went to mail box to retrieve it only to find it not there. For 3 days I went to post office in search for my package but was told countless stories including that our mailboxes were broken( flat lie) and they were unable to deliver. I then find out 3 days after my package says delivered that it was delivered into the wrong complex by an inexperienced carrier.. I have no money to reorder as I saved up for this purchase and that's $40 gone and I still have no medicine. I am afraid to reorder even if I had the money because I am not sure will I get it. I really don't understand why any business who is serious about success would use the USPS. They are inefficient, their employees simply have no work ethic (that is not to say ALL of them but at the least a significant number of them to greatly hinder the organization), complaints are not corrected, they have now lost my package. They just are an expensive and inefficient branch of the federal government. I would support disbanding the federal post office and allowing the process of delivering mail go to private venders. It would be cheaper on tax payers, it would improve quality and if done correctly it would force those current employees who have been getting paid without commitment to the organization to get a job where accountability is the norm. If you are just going in to ship a package or buy stamps, this place is great. The people are usually pleasant and the service is relatively fast. However; DO NOT USE THEM FOR A PO BOX. They do not put mail up same day. Despite the numerous signs saying "Mail will be up by 10 AM" it is never up by that time. They can be "sorting mail" to be put up in boxes as late as 3:00 PM on some days. Furthermore while I do understand that there are rules to PO boxes, I had a friend have something shipped to my box, and she accidentally put her name instead of mine, and they returned it despite her coming in 2 times the same day to try and pick it up and 1 time the next day. They never contacted me to ask if it was my mail or anything they just mailed it back. It took the staff 30+ minutes just to provide me with this information too. First they said it had been forwarded, but I told them there was no address on file to forward too, so they told me "oh well I guess the girls in the back must've returned it" I guess it's always easier to blame someone else for your mistakes. I do not recommend them as a PO box provider. Not worth the $$ just to have your package sit back there when it could be in your hand. read more

Out of the last 4 packages I have had delivered, 2 made it to my home. The other 2 were "delivered" but nowhere to be found. My roommate had a package delivered the same day. His made it but mine still hasn't shown up... Going to their office is useless as well. Pitiful service. read more

Wow the rudest people i have ever met. "Wut yalls need?" Was actually the way we were approached. Then told to move lines twice. Then told "we bouts to close". Then when handed my slip was asked "wuts dis". It was my slip with my tracking number. This was the worst service I have ever had. And maybe instead of having 10 employees standing around 20 minutes before closing talking to each other complaining about closing.
