They somehow both end up at in the same state with my correct pre made labels that clearly say different. Called multiple times and they wouldn't pick up. There was a lady who works front desk, very short hair, and i've had her twice this week. today she was terribly rude and condescending. tried to make me feel like an idiot. i used tape that was on the counter for everyone to use, and she kept on badgering me saying it was the wrong tape and to use my eyes next time. terrible customer service. also asked if she could look up a package for me and she said she doesn't do that. terrible experience. read more

One of the best post office experiences I've ever had! I went on a lunch break expecting a bit of a wait and a long line. There was a long line with lots of people coming and going, but all of the employees were super helpful and in good moods which kept everything moving quickly! There was also a very cheery employee (possibly a supervisor/manager) walking around the post office asking people in line if they needed any help or had any questions while they waited. I felt like this helped for people to feel like they weren't just wasting time waiting in line because they were also being served while they waited. Great experience! read more

I know exactly who everyone is referring to when they say the "short-haired lady" that works there. I've see her be rude and condescending on numerous occasions. Today I dropped off a package (my old cell phone to trade in). She gave me my receipt and I said, "thank you, have a nice day". As I'm walking to the door, I hear a loud thump. When I turned around I saw that she literally threw my package clear across the room from where she was standing to an outgoing mail bend at the other end of the counter. I looked back at her and she just glared at me like she was waiting for me to say something. I don't understand why her bad behavior has not been addressed. She does not need to be customer facing. Crowded. Always crowded. Prime location? Yes. Could they streamline things better to improve flow? Yes. Don't get me wrong. It's a Post Office. It gets the job done. But seriously, the only time I've seen any sort of organization at this location was during Christmas when the line was out the door. The staff is always "eh" here. They don't seem happy to be there, not happy to go the extra mile to make our days better, nor really concerned if your package is handled with extra care. But like I said, the USPS isn't there to make your day brighter -- just to take your packages, give you stamps and get your stuff where it needs to go. So I suppose this one does its job correctly. Delivery of the mail from the Oak Lawn Post Office is treated as optional. I had to beg for a week for my mail to taken off hold and begin again. My informed delivery says I should have received several letters today, I received none. I received notice I should have had a package redelivered yesterday. It never was. This sucks. read more

Had a really friendly happy customer service representative here on Monday, 9/13/2016. He was just happy to be helping, happy to be alive, happy to have a job, a great representative of the USPS when nowadays most of the Post Office employees are the unhappiest acting people you would ever want to meet. I didn't get his name but he was African American, about 25 years old, average build and had a positive attitude and wonderful smile. Great guy, and his mother would be proud. read more

Maybe around Christmas and maybe around tax time are the typical times you'll find me here. Everything pretty much meets my low expectations. Staff seems like they work at a post office, but do they get stuff from Texas to anywhere in the world for me? yeah. So they do their job well. Absolutely THE worst post office I have come across to date. I've only been to the location once, and didn't even get what I wanted to get accomplished. My main concern today, though, is that they are improperly handling my mail. I have been waiting for a package to be delivered that they have had in their possession since June 6th (7 days now). This package was not delivered to my apartment because clearly the post man just didn't feel like delivering it that day, so he left me a Missed Delivery notice instead. What the heck?! This package was sent from my boss, and has time sensitive work materials that I needed to have by now. I don't own a car, and work full time 8-5 Monday through Friday, so I don't have the time or resources to pick the package up myself. I signed the Missed Delivery form so that they would try again, but the postman left it in my mailbox as if he didn't see it. The day after that, it was gone, but still no package. So, as much as I hated to, I went online and requested AGAIN that they resend my package. The next day, nothing. So I called the location and complained! Kim, the lady who I spoke with said that my package had been left sitting on a shelf in the back room, undelivered. I'm mad now. So I verbally ask her to resend my package (my FOURTH time in general). The next day, no package. So today I called and spoke with Kim again, and she said that she had personally put it on the list to be delivered, and that it would be delivered today (June 13th). Although my visit was okay, I only needed priority tape, I was appalled at how the rep handles a customer with just a question. My family member works for the post office and he gives his 100% in the operations area. This clerk just let him ask a question and told him "come back Monday". She was at her window and could've easily checked. Referring everyone that came in to the machine when they were THERE was bad. Guess the aren't afraid to lose their jobs with automation. read more

DO NOT GET A PO BOX HERE!!! I have a PO Box at this location and I can't tell you how many times they've marked my packages 'delivered' and it hasn't been. I'm constantly having management search for my packages in the back. I don't know what's so hard about delivering to a PO Box. You would think it's more beneficial because at least the packages aren't being left outside of my front door (to be stolen)...but I feel like the employees here steal themselves. I went to the Oak Lawn station on a Saturday morning about 10:30 a.m. to send a package overnight to my son, who is at college, and I was impressed by the efficiency and friendliness of the staff, and their great attitude. There was a postal service employee behind the counter who was handling customers in line, and there was another terrific woman who was helping customers get their mail done as fast as possible. She helped me mail my priority envelope at the machine station. And she was smiling and helpful the whole time, even when customers had a bad attitude. (A lot of time, I find it's the customers who put the U.S.P.S. people in a bad mood; but she let his bad attitude roll right off her back!) I'd think I will visit this post office whenever I need to use the service, even though there is a station closer to where I live. read more

USPS is reliable in terms of packages arriving safely, and on time. I like the flat-rate packages, because it helps me anticipate what I'll be spending on shipping, unlike UPS and FedEx that are typically very expensive. My only issue is USPS is never overly friendly, and usually not staffed with the proper number of crew. This location can get busy during peak times, but I'm usually out of there within 10 minutes. read more

I was at this post office yesterday and had a wonderful experience! Such a surprise! Usually I dread going to the post office because I'll have to wait in a long line and it's just miserable. The manager/postmater of the location was in the lobby helping people and interacting with us. He was a blast! What great energy! There was no line, the postal clerks were fun, and people were smiling. Usually going to the post office is like going to the DMV. But it wasn't yesterday. I want to go back! I live in the area. It usually always has a line, but they move you through and if you need extra help, I've always found they want to help. Recently, it was Christmas and I had lots of packages, they let me keep my packages there while drove back home to get my credit card. I hopped in the front of the line, when they saw me come back...how nice was that? The staff does recognize their regulars, but I think they are soooo over worked. I think they are nice. The USPS would be more on top of things if they would go-online. We should be able to weigh and mail our own packages. I finally got myself mailing through PayPal again, so I guess I won't be going "very much" to the post office anymore. I just had such a good experience at the post office that I had to tell someone, so I figured I would write a review. There was a long line but everyone was treated well and quickly. In order to help with the long line, they opened a new line. Everyone was very nice.
