The Oakellar post office is wonderful. I made a mistake on the address on a certified envelope and didn't discover it till I got home. I raced back and Natasha immediately looked for it while there were a some customer in line. She found it immediately. I left and went home to verify the address and filled out a new to and from sticker. Went back and waited in line for Natasha. She took care of it and my tax forms will reach their destination in time. She was friendly, helpful, and had a wonderful attitude. Don't know what I will do if Oakellar post office is ever removed. It's the post office. I try to avoid this location if possible as they do not have a self-service kiosk, and I hate waiting in line (especially with COVID). However, they do have plenty of parking, and they are the closest USPS to my home, so on rare occasions, I need to pick up a package. This post office is horrible. I have never been called such names(bitch was said multiple times) or been threatened with harm because I wanted to mail packages. All because I pushed the boxes I wanted to mail to her. I even heard her walk in the back and throw something as I left after calling me a whore. It was scary being threatened with violence. I've purchased a annual mailbox here,so I don't need to worry about mail theft... This post office has no organization and are very rude... several occasions I've had confrontation on simple questions... they don't like to be questioned at all All these employees always have long,exhausting,and mean faces my anxiety level escalated as soon as I pull into the parking lot! I never know how my experience is going to go,this staff takes inquiring about ones mail personal.I feel thee employees are ready for retirement as well as the tall blue eyed supervisor whom kicked me out and denied me help when I questioned about where my package was. This is one of the best post offices. It doesn't matter what time of day I go, there is always someone there to help. If there is a longer line it goes by fast as the employees are very efficient. Even during Christmas time when lines are probably at their longest - there are employees there trying to makes things go smoother. They even have boxes made for you! They will even help you figure out the cheapest way to mail something. Overall, I've always had a great experience here and appreciate the hard work and friendly attitude of employees. read more

They are very laid back, taking their time assisting no matter how long the waiting line gets, choosing if they want to work the front line or not .....If you try your reach them by phone....good luck because no one picks up or if someone does pick up eventually, they just disconnect the call without talking to you. Whew !!! Let's get to the point with this one. I frequent this location often to ship packages and normally the service is great however, I've had one too many nasty encounters with one postal worker in particular. The first time was a simple misunderstanding on my end due to picking up the wrong shipping envelope. I was unaware of the individual cost on the newer brown envelopes and boxes that you basically pay twice for and I simply inquired about the added charge and she became really rude and nasty with me. I've never had so many negative experiences with postal workers until moving to FL. The 2nd bad experience was when I was shipping a package (as usual) and I wanted to know the date of delivery being it was only going two hrs away and with a nasty demeanor she said it would take two days (so Monday) the she proceeded to say how it's Friday and the first pick up was that morning for delivery to that location (I had a confused look because I was told previously that there's only one mail pick up from the post office). So I decided to not use the postal service and as I proceeded to leave she made a smart remark in reference to me. Any other time I have alway received top notch service but I may have to just start going back to the post office located on MacDill AFB (ALWAYS great service) Most of the postal workers that I've encountered here in Tampa seem to not care for the position they have and it's passed to the customers in the form of rudeness, disrespectfulness and mean comments. Ultimately I was able to get the package shipped for cheap and it will be there this weekend. I hate to only give three stars because the other workers are amazing but I wouldn't be right if didn't announce this issue at this location. read more

US POST OFFICE In South Tampa - this is one of two choices ... getting in and out can suck (people just seem to slooooowwww down in the parking lot), but the staff here is generally efficient (for a post office - amirite?) Be wary of Sherri, the racist and cruel lady. She treats her customers like trash and is extremely condescending. (Particularly of color) The way she spoke to me and my father is despicable. She spoke to us like we are beneath her. If it's the wrong label, instead of telling us nicely that the label is incorrect, she yells at you even when you walk away. My dad would say sorry, and walk away. In lieu of accepting the apology and moving on, she would lecture him about how he's slow to comprehend the basics of printing a shipping label. Even when he drops off small packages, she would give him nasty side eye looks like he should be on his knees begging for her to accept the packages. Overall, beware at all costs if you're asian or black, you'll 100% without a doubt, catch an attitude from this lady. Management needs to screen this racist person and hire someone else. read more

I hate going into this post office, I have never dealt with such incompetience from the men working there. They are rude and will laugh in your face when you say something about their attitude. I have notified them in person countless times of who lives at our address and we have been here 3 years, yet every day there is other peoples mail in our box, I have told the carriers which change daily and still its like talking to a wall, I know they understand the english language since they are using on their phones talking while working. This drab little brick building houses a very typical post office. However, it is special to me because it is right around the corner from me making it so easy to make my Amazon returns. And it houses a very helpful and friendly staff. My only complaint really, is that I have to stand in line to buy stamps. Why has the USPS decided that we should no longer be able to buy stamps from a vending machine in the lobby? It is so inconvenient to have to buy them during business hours and to have to stand in line to get them. I really detest that. Parking at this location can be tricky especially during lunchtime. But most other times of the day it is pretty easy to get in and out quickly. read more

I've been here enough times now to truly write a review on this specific USPS location. It's a mix of awesome and not so awesome. Let's start with the awesome! Firstly, they have priority shipping boxes already made...a huge bonus for me! I've been to other locations where they're not and it takes a few precious minutes to assemble a box and usually I'm in a rush. Wah. In addition, they have tape! (It is a bit difficult to tear, so I suggest poking a hole with the pen they also supply and it tears the tape right on in half! Just give it a go next time you stop in to see what I mean). Other locations charge about $3 for shipping tape. Ridiculous! There is an older man in here who stands out to me because of his kindness...I'll have to catch his name next time I'm in! Now for the "not so awesome"...there does tend to (always) be a line here...so plan accordingly! One lady who works here seems to always have an attitude and is rude. Last time I was in, she basically turned my day into a bad one with her rudeness...not kidding. Sometimes, customers need guidance and that shouldn't be frowned upon! Anyways, the location is nestled in a neighborhood off of Manhattan. The parking lot can be a bit crazy with people quickly pulling in and out of spots, so be careful! Hope this helps! read more

Postman did not bother to even ring my bell to let me know my package from Italy had arrived. Nope -- just left one of those notices even though I was home! I think he didn't even have my package on his truck -- probably just planned to leave only the notice all along! For two days I have been trying to ring the Oakellar post office to find out where my package is (I left slip in mailbox signed as they asked) and no one answers the phone. Impossible to reach! And the USPS number when called now has between 40 minutes to an hour of hold time. Good luck if you are expecting an international package that requires your signature; even if you are home, they won't bother to deliver it to you. read more

I rushed there after work, got there right after they closed, I could hear people behind the door, I ring the bell, and someone from behind the door yells "we are closed". Unfortunately I live literally 1 minute away from this post office however I drive nearly across town simply to avoid this location because of ONE employee named Sherri. Every time I go in there and get her she's been extremely rude to me. I am a person of color and at first I thought she was just a rude and miserable person in general but then I noticed the customer in front of me (who happened to be white as well) - Sherri was smiling and chuckling with her and wished her a good day, and then when it came to me she was back to being her rude self barely acknowledging me or even looking up for more than two seconds. I could not believe how blatant the racism was. It would be nice to not have to deal with rude people that work in customer service of course, however it is UNACCEPTABLE to have to deal with racist people in customer service. I had a package scheduled for delivery on August 8th. The driver stated he/she attempted delivery and there was "Notice Left (No Secure Location Available)". There is a full open porch with a front table, 3 people home at the time of delivery, a doorbell and a knocker, which was not rung or knocked, a community mailbox set up with large lockers with keys, and there was no "notice left" in the mailbox, front porch, or door. Simply stated, this driver attempted no delivery and lied to his/her employer and customer! I personally walked in to the office on Oakeller to have this resolved and was greeted by attitude from the Supervisor (black lady with glasses). As if wrongdoing by their employee was my fault! Both employees should be fired on the spot for lying and covering a lie for another employee, as the Supervisor insisted the delivery employee attempted delivery but did not feel the place was safe to leave it. People who care this little about their customers should not have a customer facing job and should be let go immediately! Both are an incredible disgrace to the postal system! read more

Let me start by saying the lady who works in this post office is a gem. She always helps me tape my packages and is super nice. Howeverrrr the younger guy who works there is rude. I came in with a package and I needed to tape it. He pointed at the tape and told me to leave my package on the counter behind me when I was done. Then when I asked him if he had clear tape for the mailing label we acted as if i was so annoying for coming in to drop off this package. Take my advice and only go to the super nice lady. She'll actually be nice and act like she cares you're there. read more

3:50 pm is still regular business hours but NO ONE can be bothered to pick up the phone. This is just the last straw! My mail has been messed up for the past 2 months. They lost a major credit card which was mailed to me, they lost my license tag renewal sticker being mailed to me, they have sent mail back to the sender without waiting the 5 business days required, I am missing so much mail! My mail is non-existent or sporadic. I've been into the office 2 times and they assure me that my delivery service has not been interrupted and they have nothing for me. The carrier asked my neighbors daughter if I moved. I OWN the house and I will tell them if I MOVE!! I have a large, empty mailbox and I expect the carrier to put the mail into the box. I am exasperated because this is to the point of felonies being committed with my mail! It is the Oakeller Post Office and nobody there can be troubled to figure out why they keep returning my mail to senders or "losing" it. I can prove they sent mail back instead of delivering it because I have companies who can verify that. It's time for legal action against these incompetent or negligent workers. Everyone that I have a package that requires signature, the postman will not come to my door to let me sign for the package, but instead leaves a notice in my mailbox!
