DO NOT COME HERE!!!! These idiots tried to steal my phone!!! They got caught, and were trying to kick me out of the office when I tried to look for it. Later the delivery man found it while I was trying to ring it the next day, and told me it was hiding in one of the postal boxes. The phone was also turned off so I could not track it. When I later turned it on, it was at 30% so it didn't die. BEWARE of this post office. It is completely worth going somewhere else and taking a couple minutes of your time to keep yourself and your belongings safe. read more

I know, I know, I know...who in their right mind would go to a post office in the middle of holiday season... *raises hand* I had quite a few packages to send, so I figure I'd get them off my plate while I was in Wine Country. It was a little hard to get to considering the construction around the area, the traffic, and the relatively small(ish) parking lot...but everything else was great. Ample sized lobby with lots of space to sort out packages, label, box, etc. Speaking of labels, there were PLENTY of priority mail labels, certified letter forms, etc. I've been to the post office plenty of times where there wasn't a particular form and you had to wait in line just to get it, then go back and do your mail thing. Ugh! while the line was into the lobby, there were four staff working diligently to get everyone through as quickly and thoroughly as possible. One gentleman was having trouble with mailing something internationally, and the woman helping him said she would take the time to help him - nice! I think I was in and out in maybe 25 min - which is acceptable given the usual waits and holiday season. Rates were fair - about $8 for small priority mail box and $14 for medium box. I have had good experiences with the clerks at this post office. Everyone has been friendly and they have helped me. My issue is with the letter carriers and the Post Master for Napa. I have had non stop issues with my mail delivery since I moved here. Other people have brought my mail to me. I have USPS Informed Delivery Service so when I receive notification mail was delivered and I do not receive it, That is a Problem. Going through the complaint process and contacting the Post Master is a joke. No response from the PostMaster and the customer service person just states the letter carriers change and all she can do is remind everyone to pay attention. Useless! read more

Having lived in the city before, lines and waits were long but now in Napa, I find their main post office to be fast in comparison. There are things to learn that will help your experience here. If I understand correctly, Napa does not have its own mail processing facility--I heard all mail must filter in and out of Oakland first. Also, they are CLOSED SATURDAY. Shocker! If you want to send Priority Mail and their envelopes/boxes are out of stock, check inside near the clerks--often there are more there. That is all I gotz! read more

Yesterday, I went into the Post Office to drop off 20 pre-paid postage packages (when I have that many I try to show consideration for my mail carrier and take them in myself.) A Postal worker was emptying the blue parcel boxes in the hallway where the P.O. Boxes are. His cart was completely full. I walk in with all of my heavy packages and I looked at the full bin and then at him and said in a non-demanding tone "I have a bunch of pre-paid packages here." I was simply looking for direction on what to do as I normally put them in the blue bins. While a normal person might have said "I see. Let me roll this inside and get another cart to help you." or even " Go ahead and place them in the blue bins and I will get them." He just gave me a smarmy expression and said "What do you want me to do about it?" I immediately asked for his name and told him that response and tone was unnecessarily rude. He began to loudly mouth off at me. "It's hot. What do you want? What do you want me to do? What do you want?" I tried to answer but he just continually interrupted. I promised myself years ago I would never allow any man to verbally abuse me again - so I stood my ground even though this guy is twice my size. I told him he might have simply not spoken to me, a United States Postal Service customer, in such a rude manner and perhaps offered to help. He was having none of it. This guy is huge! He has a booming voice and he was openly bullying a USPS customer well within earshot of everyone that works there simply because I refused to put up with his bullying, rude tone and words. I told him that I had lodged a complaint about his rude behavior before. His answer??? "You see how far that got you!" I have had things showing up late a lot but this last problem has cost me $40 dollars and may be more if I have to cancel a check. This was fir my car registration and I hung it in my mailbox and watched the postman take it. This was on February 17 and to date it has not arrived isn't there a postmaster I can complain to??! After months of late mail delivery (many days delivery is after 6:00 pm, and has been as late as 9:30 pm), slow services (priority mail for delivery 90 miles away took 7 days), I guess my patience is gone. Yesterday, an important package I was expecting was labeled on tracking as "out for delivery." When it had not arrived by 7:00 pm, I signed up for a "package delivered" text alert so I wouldn't have to keep going out in the rain to look for it. As of 10:00pm last night, the package had not been delivered, and there was no further update entry on the tracking history page. This morning, I received a text saying the carrier could not complete the delivery attempted at 7:54 pm last night due to "animal interference" ! I presume this refers to dogs who pose a threat to the carrier, a legitimate concern. However, that is not the case here. I have a dog who is outside only on a leash and only with me -- and, the dog was not outside after 6:00 pm yesterday. With all the challenges of 2020, I am sure the postal carriers are greatly overworked; however, the service needs to be truthful with customers. When USPS lies and falsely blames the customer's dog, in what becomes a matter of public record, it could have serious consequences should there ever be an accusation of any incident involving the dog in the future. Horrible. Does not even deserve the one star. They never answer the phone. It just rings and rings until off it goes off the hook. I was expecting a package that was OUT FOR DELIVERY. When it didn't show up with the rest of my items that day, the new tracking info said it was "Held at Post Office at request of the customer". Um, I did NOT request that, I want my item delivered! But I called the main USPS number (since these guys don't answer their phone), and they just scheduled for redelivery. Then, it said "no access to address"! WTAF!?? I had 3 other packages delivered that day from USPS, so clearly that's not the issue. This is a terrible service, and I don't know what to do other than use alternate carriers. The Trancas Post Office used to be the place to go for fast service. Now that the parking lot has been halved, it's a lot more chaotic. Timing is everything. I've always had good service at this post office... but the change in the parking lot (as well as its entrance) has made it more complicated. Hopefully, this situation will clear up. read more

Hands down worst post office in Napa. I've been trying to track a missing package of business checks and according to the tracking number, the post office has been is possession for two days without delivery. Called the post office downtown who answered promptly and confirmed it has been handed to city carrier #36 at this Trancas office. I will need to call that office to find out what carrier #36 has done with the package. I have now called the office 8 times, and all eight times the phone has been picked up and promptly hung back up without so much as a "hello." Unacceptable. Off to call the downtown "wrong" post office again to see if they can get me through internally :( read more

Brutal organization. Stalin would marvel at this overly complicated, bureaucratic mess that is the USPS. This branch has lost, delayed or mis-delivered no less than ten packages over the last two months. Warning for those who forward mail: Your packages will take at least an extra month to arrive and they will then request additional funds to deliver to the new address. On top of that, once the packages get stuck in their forwarding system, they literally have no idea where they are or when they will be delivered. UPS always seems to deliver the package on time and to the right location. USPS = crap shoot. Don't even get me started on stepping foot into this antiquated, third world retail location a la Venezuela. On top of being outdated and totally run-down, they make you wait in a seemingly endless line for 10-15 minutes to get any service. It literally feels exactly the same as when I had to go wait in line with my parents about 35 years ago with possibly the exact same employees! Seriously, one minute at USPS feels like five minutes at DMV. It's that bad. Sure, everyone is friendly, but they simply cannot compete with more efficient and better managed organizations like UPS and FedEX. With email and better shipping options, it really makes you wonder why this bloated operation exists today, except to limp along surviving off of junk mail delivery. Think about that, they get paid to deliver a quarter of your recycling bin contents that go totally unread unless you're 80. read more

Okay so it's been four months since I moved to Lake Berryessa and still can't get my mail delivered! Very unhappy lost important documents and special senior portraits that I can't replace that easy, I've been at the office three times was given supervisor Marie's number called last week she was supposed to contact me the next day and of course it didn't happen, so I called again and no response yet. No one has told me where my mail is? I even moved my new mailbox across Knoxville Rd. Where I've been noticing that everyone has there mailbox maybe for safety or convenience and all I got was someone else's mail! Can't they read the numbers!! Perhaps the worst USPS I have every had the pleasure of going to. I have been to many different Post Offices in my life time, being affiliated with the military I have lived in 7 different states and have had to frequent post offices in multiple locations. With that being said, it is sad that this Post Office is at the bottom. Things take so long, there is no sense of urgency. Even when there isn't a line, the workers will take their own sweet time to acknowledge you. It is almost as if you are an inconvenience for them. I try to be polite and make the experience positive, but no matter how nice I am, I do not receive even a smile or "have a nice day." Not like I am needy and expect that all the time, but when I know I am going to get bad service, I try on mind end to make things better hoping that the energy will be contagious. My tasks are not even difficult nor am I going in there not already knowing what I am doing. So yes, overall, if you can go some where else in town, I would suggest it. Start this off by saying very horrible service. I had a package that was suppose to arrive to my address on 07/13/16. My tracking info stopped on "out for delivery" on the day of delivery. On 07/18/16 on a Monday i still haven't received it, so i decided to go to the post office to see what was the issue. I was speaking with a lovely lady who was working there and informed me that I will receive a call withing 2-3 days about my package. A week has passed and did not receive one call. On 07/25/16 i went back to speak to a different lady this time. She gave me the post office number to call in the morning within 7-9 am and speak with the supervisor about my package. I ended up doing that, called 4 times and no response. I work as a Manager in Retail so i try to understand and have patience, but this is unacceptable. I hope someone that works at the post office reads this to make things right. I really hope no one else goes through this. read more
