What a fantastic post office! When you walk in you feel like you're being transported back in time. The old-time P.O. Boxes are really neat, & there are artifacts around showing the building's history. It's such a beautiful location, I would recommend checking it out for the aesthetics alone! But the reason for 5 stars is their service. Our family had early morning appointments for passports. There were 2 employees working and a short line of customers when we arrived a few minutes early. Shortly after arriving, and only a few minutes after our appointment time, Michelle called us over. Our appointments included photos, so after completing them Michelle walked each one of us through the entire process in a professional and friendly manner, explaining the very thorough process along the way. She could not have made the experience any more pleasant! We completed our 4 appointments in the time stated (1 hour), we were given instructions for the next steps, & we were on our way. Overall this was an A+ experience, in large part because of the service provided by Michelle!

This location in downtown is super nice, the people are super friendly and is not as busy as I was expecting, the location is very convenient a few steps from the court house and everything downtown Orlando has to offer.

This is the classic restored post office in downtown Orlando. When you walk into this post office, it's like walking back in time. They have the old-style mailboxes, a lot of items on display from years gone by. This place is almost a museum. Now when you walk up to the clerks, you are in the 21st-century. The counter and all of the equipment they are using is up-to-date. If you want to take your children and show them what a post office used to look like, then I would consider a day trip to this location.

At some point, we all have to visit the post office. Whether it's to buy stamps, send a package or get your passport, it's almost inevitable that a trip to this governmental agency will occur. Thus, I think it's important to know which locations serve their citizens the best. And in all my years of visiting post offices in New York, North Carolina and now Florida, I must say that the downtown location here in Orlando reigns supreme. First, the building itself is gorgeous. It's a grandiose building with extremely high ceilings and marble flooring. There's a neat plaque outside too for your reading pleasure--I can't remember off the top of my head what it reads, but it remarks on the importance of mail and it's place in our lives. Secondly, the staff there has never let me down. They are cheery and will almost always crack a joke--no matter which employee you are working with. It's that reason alone I make the walk here despite other more convenient offices; because it can be quite common for governmental employees to be less than friendly when they are serving you. This is not the case at all when you are at the Jefferson Street location.

If there is a way to figure out who this postal worker is he needs a new job.

There were plenty of priority mail boxes; unfortunately, there was no machine that would let me pay for postage. An employee, a guy, just happened to be walking out while I was debating on what to do. I asked him about a postage machine or if he knew of a post office nearby where postage could be bought. He said he hadn't seen one of those machines in a long time & he didn't know where I could find one. I was flying home without a lot of extra space. Please get a postage machine.

When I approached she spoke as if her mouth was full making it impossible to hear much less understand. When I asked the difference in cost between overnight and priority she tossed an address sticker on the counter for me to fill out. I then repeated the question she turned her back to me saying nothing and pointed to the ceiling. Does everyone just look up at the ceiling for information? I then told her I'll take the overnight. She gave me an envelope and pointed to the area to fill out. What a rude obnoxious person the American tax payers are funding her life. I needed to walk away, so I did her the favor and tossed it back at her and I went to the lobby to fill out the envelope. Luckily when I came back I had a young man who was very nice, very helpful. However, she kept telling every customer who would listen how "some people" are disrespectful. Each customer until I walked out had to listen to her mouth. I walked out with a man and he said "She needs a lesson in humanity". I feel bad that anyone has to work with that thing but thanked the young man for his help. It is no wonder this location has a overall very low rating. Florida has a fire-at-will clause, DO IT.

No goodbye. No have a nice day. Also things that I can just let it roll off my back. When the package landed on the floor, she still didn't look up at me, and she looked over to the people in line and yelled, NEXT I'm in customer service so I really try not to let things bother me so much. But throwing somebody's package onto the floor, is pretty much like a waiter spitting in your food right in front of you. The package is packed very well, so I'm not concerned about the contents But what if there was something fragile or special inside? That type of disrespect is unacceptable The two star review is generous
