I've been a member of this post office for the last 5 years. So I've seen my share of mix ups and undelivered packages. But truthfully these people are wonderful. They've never been rude to me. They've always worked to help me get my package if it's missing. And we've always figured it out. I do think it's a bit pricey but that isn't their fault. The fact that they even keep smiles on their faces after dealing with all the negativity is pretty miraculous. They're doing the best they can. If you have bad service or a bad experience, I suggest changing your approach and treating them with a bit more grace for your missing items. They didn't do it on purpose. It isn't personal. I let the service on my PO Box lapse. I only discovered it yesterday when checking the box for mail. The person I needed to speak to to reactivate the box was not working yesterday and I was told to return today. I arrived at the post office at about 9 AM this morning and while waiting in line I was asked by a person not wearing a postal uniform what she could help me. I was a little confused by her not being in uniform. However, I told her what I needed and she explained to me that she worked in the back of the post office, but that she was helping out in the front for a while. She took my information and helped me prepare the application to reactivate the box. She also replaced the lock on the box and gave the new keys to an available clerk in the front who proceeded to register the box to me again. everything was handled very fast and efficiently. This was my first time coming to this USPS because I was looking for a package of mine which has been lost in the mail since the middle of November! I walked in the doors and immediatly noticed the state of this post office! It is run down, old and seems to be falling apart! This building needs a MAJOR update ASAP!!! The floors were cracked and were very uneven, and I almost forgot I was in Smyrna! With all the Smyrna taxes we pay, I can't believe someone let this post office get so rundown! Proper post office on Windy Hill Road in Smyrna. It has a narrow parking lot that is only one-way, so you must enter from the west and depart from the east. In this part of Windy Hill, it's a two lane - on - two lane road, so good luck getting across either way. You'll want to drive past and look for a U-turn. Once you get parked and inside, it's a full service post office with retail counters, post office boxes and suchlike. The counters were closed when I got there, but i got my postcards mailed. read more

Came in at 10:15 am on a Monday and the line was six deep with one person. It dawned on me probably one of the reasons the post office has fallen down from grace is they have not modernized. The stores look the same antiquated way like they did eons ago. No color ...A lot like black and white televisions. The stores look plain and blah. After about five minutes someone else came to help. The line are always long, the service is subpar, the standards are so low that they barley care if your package gets delivered or not. They are always out of boxes. This post office needs an update and need to hire more workers. With that being said some workers are not all bad..... read more

Here we are again with the same half...hearted delivery of my order. It appears package is to large to fit in mail box so lets shove it in till we break something. Also lets leave half of it hanging out of the mail box so the weather and the package thieves are not inconvenienced. How thoughtful! I guess because they were late delivering, this was easier than having concern for customer's valuables. After all, it's not their money. I look forward to the delivery of other merchandise I may order as we move to the Christmas season. With the UPS/USPS handoff trick and complete lack of the insistence that the driver drag themselves out of the vehicle and deliver package properly is a poor management issue at USPS.( and the Windy Hill location is at the top of several management issues ) read more

One of the worst Post Office Locations in Georgia. Every time I go in there there's a line, barely moving, no customer service at all, freezing, dark & dirty... the people who work here have been for a very long time you can tell they don't like it, neither do we. I plan on having my packages sent to another location going forward. read more

We moved to this area recently and have had so much trouble with packages being delivered. We had one sitting at this post office for two months - my husband was finally able to pick it up. Packages languish here and sometimes show up months later - or not at all. My daughter has a package that shows as awaiting scan for more than 3 weeks. We went to the post office to pick it up and no one can find it. read more

The carrier for our area "forgot" to deliver our held mail twice. Once after calling and being told it would be delivered the next delivery day. The "manager" I spoke with could care less and kept making excuses for why the carrier did not do their job. Unfortunately this has become par for the Post Offices I have dealt with over the last five years. Every single time I come here, I stand in line... no matter what time of day or year it is. I don't know how that works out, but there's always a line! The nice thing they do is offer a "special line" for people who have one of the dreaded pink cards and have to pick a package up. So that way you don't have to stand in line for too long. Overall, this post office is pretty gross. It always seems dirt and dingy in there. The staff is nice, but they are just soooo sloooow!! Unfortunately, there are not too many alternate options, so I still come here regularly, but I've been to better post office locations around Atlanta. read more

The customer service horrible. Its very disappointing to see how they handle your mail. Many times my mail has to be returned to me because the mail has been overlooked as "undeliverable" although it is not. When someone answer the phone, they are very rude and do not tend to care to provide you with any aid, I have been held on hold for long periods of time just for someone to say hold on again, or not even pick the phone up as I wait on the other line! I had to make an appointment for a passport renewal and brought all necessary documents, but did not prefill the form because I wasn't sure exactly what form needed to be completed as there several forms listed online. After watching this woman who was handling the passport appointments walk around and chatting and laughing extensively, she finally took my appointment 15 mInutes late. I let her know that this was a name change and that I brought all neceessary documents, however when she found out that I didn't not prefill the form, she rolled her eyes at me and told me she was too backed up to give me the correct form and she could not help me at all, even though I watched her lolly-gagging with her coworkers. Such a waste of time. Don't bother booking appointments at this location as they obviously just make up any excuse to not work! read more

I have been living in Smyrna for the last 5 years. The experience with this Post Office is simply horrendous. Management doesn't care about customer care, we do not have yet an assigned mailperson thus causing a lot of problems with the correspondence. I tried to speak to the carrier once and he told me he was going to call the police because I was not allowing him to work. Spoke personally with his supervisors about what transpired and they never followed up. I have gone many avenues to manifest my displeasure to no avail. I will give it a O but unfortunately there is no option. read more

I really dread coming here. It's so close to my house so I am often forced to come out of convenience. Parking lot is one way and has very narrow spots. No matter the time of day, plan to wait in line a minimum of 20 minutes, workers are not friendly at all. Overall, you will leave here depressed. But don't worry, just across the street as you leave the parking lot is mcdonalds, so buy yourself a mcflurry to feel better. read more

This Post Office looks like crap inside/outside and needs a MAJOR renovation. I'm sure it was built in the 60's or 70's and with all the money they make, they should step it up appearance wise not just for appearance but also for functionality. They still have the old wood displays at the counter that are old and not even in use. If you are standing in here like I am right now it never fails to have only 2 people working, phone ringing and them not picking up and of course a line out the door. The inside is old and musty and there is always a long line no matter what time of day it is. The workers in there are nice to MOST people but I can count how many times I see them give Mexicans or people who can't speak good English a hard time. (Especially ZZ Top) Thats not right and I think they should be a little more patient, this is America.. There are never any pens when you need them and they are too lazy to attach the pens to the chains on the counter. (Its only been without pens for about 2 years though, occasionally some nice soul will let you borrow a pen) I dread going there and always hate waiting in the long line, plan on your visit to take at least half an hour each time. read more

I have had more than one instance with this Post Office refusing to do their jobs correctly. I live in an apartment complex so my mailbox is the usual small box. My carrier SHOVED a package shipped in a shoe box into my mailbox which is located over my head. Two other neighbors and myself all tried pulling it out and couldn't. It shut down other deliveries for over a week. And that was after me calling and talking with Tony, the Post Master for the location. During the Christmas holidays, I paid extra shipping charges to have a package delivered before Christmas. My carrier put in a large parcel box, took the key from the parcel box THAT HAD NO NUMBER LISTED ON IT, and placed that in my mailbox. I still took the key and tried all of the parcels and the locks were all rusty making them hard to turn. I called the Post Office 13 times over three weeks. During my second conversation with Tony, Post Master, I got so sick of his blame game, that I hung up. I then called my US Representative, Phil Gingrey's office who immediately sighed, "let me guess, the post office on windy hill?" They called immediately where Tony told them that I hung up on him AND HE'S NOT GOING TO TAKE THAT DISRESPECT. Where's my respect Tony?????!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS WHY IM REPUBLICAN. You give losers a comfortable seat and you can't get them off their a**! I also wrote to the US Post Office, Atlanta District. Basically, Mr. Green checked into it and Tony told him nothing was there fault so get over it. Mr. Green is just as lazy as the rest of them. I thought I would try their "if it fits, it ships" boxes, so I went to this post office. BIG MISTAKE. The place was a cluttered mess, like a run-down junk store. Torn paper, boxes, tape, and so forth was strewn around on the tables and floor. One man with a "I just don't give a damn" attitude was working the counter. Several people were in line. I waited 20 minutes while he was doing... something... I could not tell what. Someone in line asked him, "Isn't there anyone else working here?" He looked up and grunted, "Nope." I gave up and left. This facility is exactly why so many people hate the USPS and choose UPS or FedEx. No private sector business could ever keep the doors open with this kind of employee behavior and disdain towards customers! If you know of a better post office location, you should use it; or, use UPS or FedEx. Don't waste your time at this location. read more

This is the absolutely the worst post office. I've been to this post office a number if different times and there is never any more the two clerks working the counter. There is always a line after 3pm and I don't understand why the post office does not staff for the traffic. I know there are people in the back working, because you can always hear them talking. Held on the line for an hour and received a busy sign multiple times ... This is the worst post office I've ever experienced. I never get mail delivered on time and they've now delivered multiple letters crumpled up like they were sitting in a corner. Also packages always say out for delivery for multiple days/weeks before actually getting delivered. I recommend using any other postal provider in the area. read more

Unfortunately all my packages are delivered here when the sender requires a signature. I received a note in my mailbox telling me I had a package to pick up. I went to the post office the next day and the package was missing. The clerk said that they must be trying to redeliver it (don't know why when the note specifically said to come pick it up after 9am the next day). So I signed the note so that the mailman would leave it in my box the next day (it's a very small package and I can rarely leave work during the day to go to the post office.) The next day not only is there no package but there isn't another note at my door either. Next day and still no package or note. I've called six times today and the phone has been busy every time. read more

The people in the actual post office have always been polite to me. My mail lady on the other hand is quite rude. She yelled at me because I have a lock on my mail box. Mail also comes much later than it used to. Before the mail came about noon but now it's nearly 6pm before we get anything. read more

I had a shipping label on a package from amazon for a return and I just came to drop it off... she said they did it wrong and to get a new one with a weight...? Got notice yesterday from LAST FRIDAY when iot rained sooooooo much that I have certified letter from IRS and to come and get it! Also stated 2nd notice. I am at a loss when it comes to getting resolutions to issues with the carrier for our neighborhood and Customer Service at the Smyrna Post Office. I have lodged complaints and sent pictures of our packages left in the flower bed and out in the rain. Yesterday my mail was left of the front steps in the rain! My son happened to come by my home and saw the mail on the steps. I tried calling the post office over and over and the phone just rings and then switches over to a busy signal. Don't even want to get started on the numerous times that my neighbors' mail is left in my box....wonder who is getting my mail???? read more

This office is horrible. The service sub par. My issue I have had with this post office, personally is that my package has gone missing. I ordered some items off of amazon, that were to be delivered to me July 18th. I receive a notice on my door and a key in my mailbox telling me to pick up my package at a postal locker. When I went to the locker the door was wide open with another key inside of the locker and to my surprise (not so much) my package was missing. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a post office and considering my father is a retired postal worker. The manager on duty - 11/16/2016 @12pm insulted me as I was coming in to renew my passport. I was already aware of the requirements and had my documents in order. He started to go over the details of requirements and I let him know that I already knew and that I need an envelope. I asked him about how I would pay the fee. He said they couldn't process it but they could do a money order. He didn't like that I interrupted his long winded talk initially and still didn't want to listen to what I was asking him to help me with. He kept wanting to argue about me interrupting him telling me about all the info what documents I needed which I told him I already had and just needed to pay the fee. He then refused to help me and threatened to contact the police and have me removed. I didn't even say anything threatening or yell. He was just being ridiculous and sensitive like a male-shovenist pig. I asked for his name and information and that I wanted to file a complaint and for someone to have the video tapes reviewed. He ignored my question and then walked to the back and left me standing there. I was so insulted and shocked that this kind of behavior was allowed at a government establishment. A customer shouldn't have to flirt to get assistance. I should be respected and feel like my questions are being answered and promptly. The manager needs to be fired and reported for his behavior to threaten a customer who did nothing threatening and was being harassed for his personal views. read more
