Always out of many of the ad items. When I was in the grocery business, we ordered enough product not to run out on a normal's day business. No so with United. They tell me they get a truck in every night and can only order a case of anything, and to come back the next day. I hate making multiple trips to get a sales price on an ad item. I try to go early enough in the day to get an ad item, but many times still find it out of stock. Oh, how I miss the days when Rob Snell owned and operated these stores, and how customer oriented it truly was. The staff at United are consistently friendly and seemingly caring, but their hands are tied, now that the chain is owned by Albertson's in another state. United supermarket is kinda the grocery store go-to in town. There are multiple locations, but this one is my primary. That's mostly because it has a full service Wells Fargo built right in. They have everything you expect from a grocery store and then some. There's a sushi counter, hot food you can order to eat in their seating area, and a Starbucks. Lots of fresh produce, beer and wine, deli, fish and meat market, bakery, flower market, and probably more that I'm missing. The employees are always friendly and helpful. The store stays busy and fast moving. The people walking you out to help load your car are a great unique touch. read more

StreetSide grocery pick-up is a game-changer! The app works really well so you can combine coupons with groceries on sale that week. Your total comes out much less once the bill has been processed (at pick-up) when you take time to clip the coupons. There have been a few times they overcharged me so I went into the store and received the credit back. They are honest and usually try their best to please the customer. Another great thing is that if your product is not available and you choose to "allow substitutions" then they upgrade your specific item at no additional cost. I really like United StreetSide! In person their shopping is great. They have cashiers and sackers. They are friendly and I appreciate the customer service they provide! Remember they often have daily deals so you're sure to find a good thing when you stop in there. Currently their fresh floral department has $5 Fridays where select bouquets of roses are only $5! Tuesdays and Fridays they offer $5 Sushi which my family loves. I prefer United over Wal-Mart every single day (and my friends and family know it)! Their fresh fruit is cut that day and very tasty...I buy that weekly and it's much better than other grocery stores who just bring it in pre-packaged! And their freshly trimmed and packaged meat cannot be beat, unless you went to an actual butcher. I love their deals on meat! read more

The managers were extremely rude and aggressive. Especially Lydia!! She screamed profanities and bullied any customer or employee who had asked her a question. I had asked an employee for help who then asked her the nearest manager and she started berating the employee and then me asking if we could read or were "ret*rded". Afterwards she left without helping the problem leaving me with only an eyeroll for and answer. I'm guessing the male employee is used to this as he barely reacted and still tried his best to help me find what I needed. Absolutely disgusting experience!! read more

Yesterday, we came to get cake order for birthday and since it was graduation day they were so swamped. They forgot to make the cake, but brittany said sorry and took our order again and told us that she will do the cake as soon as possible and she got my number. I was disappointed at first because i didnt have the cake right there and then on the set time. We came back after 30-45mins and we had our cake made and tasted so good and moist. I understand that they were so busy yesterday coz of the graduation going on but i love how their staff are friendly, with great attitude, and knows how to handle the situation amidst how busy they are. Shout out to Brittany (i hope i got her name right) for getting our cake within 30-45 mins. Great customer service, yummy cake too. 4 stars because we didnt get the cake on the set time. read more

The deli at United is a place of desperation, misfortune, and twisted deals. They advertised a bucket of ten chicken legs for $5, and I made the ill-informed decision to have lunch there. First, the employees are rude; as I walked to the counter a group of three employees wrapped up their conversation, two left the area and a third stood with her back to me. One of the employees that left finally returned to ask what I wanted, and I foolishly committed to the bucket of chicken legs - Notice I did not say "ten" this time because SHE CAN'T COUNT and only put nine legs in the box (they don't even use buckets). The register at the deli counter must be broken, because I was not Llowed to pay there, I had to go to another register. Then I went to find napkins and a seat. If you find fast food dining rooms depressive, please refrain from ever visiting this United's dark, soul sucking, noisy version of an already awful experience. I found the chicken to be low quality, questionably cooked, and covered in uninspiring breading. 9/9 (because I didn't get all 10), will never eat there again, probably won't buy anything from the deli again either. P.S. No, I didn't eat all nine pieces for lunch - I realized part way through my "meal" that this was a deal with the devil that I did not have to honor (and I have a refrigerator at the office). read more

Most of the time I have to carry out my own grocery's . When you shop there that service is factored into your grocery's . The sacker and cashier are more interested in chatting about there personal life and could careless about how long they hold you up when your tired and just want yo go home . If you can get anyone in the deli to help you your very lucky . And playing monopoly isn't saving me money . It cost money to play that game . I rather have savings instead of playing a game I can't win . All in all the service really sucks and the groceries are way to expensive . Not to mention they give you rewards for shopping and if you don't use the rewards they take them away . Think about it . They gave you something and then they take it away. If they give you something it should be yours not something they take away because they don't sell diesel where you shop and you forget to use them . read more

First of all I notice that three out of four of the poor ratings are poor reviews them self. Two people reviewing the pharmacy and not the actual grocery store and one person is reviewing the coffee counter but still doesn't know how to spell espresso. My review will reflect the grocery store as a whole. Alternatives to United in Lubbock include Target and Walmart. There are other specialty grocery stores and higher end grocery stores such as United's sister store Market Street but I hesitate to call these stores alternatives as they are not comparable in selection, price point, and target consumer. I grew up in the DFW area going to normal grocery stores such as Walmart Neighborhood Market, Kroger, Albertson's, etc. United is comparable to the stores and that carries all the basics but it exceeds them and that it also carries extra bonuses. The wine and beer selection is more varied than that of comparable stores. The bulk aisle is also more varied then comparable stores. I had never even seen a bulk aisle in a normal grocery store until moving to Lubbock. Additionally, the customer service at every single United and Market Street is unmatched. I don't know if it's that people who have lived in Lubbock all their lives are unaware of what a gem this grocery store is or if they're just self entitled and expect everyone to wait on them hand and foot but it doesn't seem that anyone is recognizing the way that United and Market Street employees go out of their way to smile, be courteous, make conversation, etc. with you each and every one of its customers. I rarely have trouble finding anything at this United. Occasionally there are a few gourmet or ethnic items that I may need to stop by another store to grab but overall the selection is perfect. I find new things at this United all the time. I appreciate how they denote items made in Texas. There is and I'll devoted to gluten-free selections. They offer plenty of organic options including produce. The produce in general is light-years above the produce at alternative stores. The meat selection is adequate. Basically, there's nothing I want a regular basis that I can't find here. And I cook regularly and almost never make the same dish twice so I'm constantly looking for things I've never bought or even seen before and I regularly find them. When I go back to DFW to visit family I HATE going to the grocery store (unless it's Whole Foods or Central Market) because United has spoiled me. And even when I am going to those specialty store their customer service still sucks compared to United. read more

I stopped by their cafe/eating area to grab an expresso - I was feeling CA-sick and they have a Peet's inside. Little did I know I'd be in for an experience. The Good: The expresso was good ole Peet's. They have free WiFi. The Bad: It was the longest I've ever waited for an expresso - about 10 to 15 minutes. The kicker is that there was NO ONE in front of us. The person making drinks was slow to make them, and she did about 3 chores between actually making drinks. What topped it off was that they didn't even have lids...they ran out. Overall: Don't stop here if you want anything "quick". Be prepared to be on Lubbock time. read more

First, Albertson's is forgetting what got United loyal customers. Expensive air, Starbucks, and now the Sushi bar is all about lease fees (income) at the customer's expenses. This is a long story so hang on. I wish I knew the name of the employee at this shop who helped, but she was awesome! I came in the store upset because the sushi guy at Market Street lied to the purchaser of one sushi roll that was for a quick meal at home because of a very tight schedule to eat. No extra spicy was requested, but we were given extra spicy. So this shop is closer to home, and I wanted a refund or exchange. The nice employee must have seen my distressed look and took me over to the exchange. The first thing we encountered was the sushi staff. Not so nice people. They complained that we purchased at a different franchise and were not related to theirs. So I asked what was not spicy. They pointed to one that was labeled SP. I said doesn't that mean spicy. No, that meant special. Of course that story changed multiple times so I had no trust in the sushi people. I found one w/o SP on it. The employee let me have it, and I ran out the door to get home quickly. I must say the product was tasty---BUT United had run an add for a $7.99 special. At neither location was there any $7.99 sushi. It was all $9.99. I appreciate United sticking up for the customer in this case, but overall it was an unpleasant experience. It is certainly difficult to trust these sushi people with my food. I struggle with how to rate. United/Market Street is ultimately responsible for the bad situation, yet they did "fix" it. read more

I would avoid working at this place. Don't get injured on the job, they will tell you it's your fault and won't pay medical bills. This is possibly why they have very few workers. A friend of mine is currently looking into a notice to collect from the company it's self. The insurance denied the claim even with management telling them it's a work place injury. read more

selected a beautiful floral arrangement for a funeral. the lady insisted it would be that exact arrangement but she would clean the 3 large lilies of the pollen smeared on the flower itself. it was red roses compacted in the middle with 3 large white lilies on the outside of the roses. I didn't get to see the arrangement until my daughters brought them home from the funeral later that afternoon. not the same thing at all. had several more lilies with all their leaves still attached crammed down in the the roses causing them to spread to the sides. looking nothing the same. I called united and talked to the floral dept and the lady argued with me the entire time saying that it was impossible . saying that's now how they left the store but could not explain how all the extra stuff was in the arrangement. terrible terrible customer service. offered no compensation at all. never again !! read more

I like this store. It's normally clean and well stocked. If I can't find something someone is always handy to help me find it. They have all those weird stuff like swerve, zanthan gum and almond flour for my keto diet which makes me very happy they have a keto friendly cake mix I can't wait to try when I get home! read more

One of the best grocery stores to get a breakfast burrito. They have some made up, but it is better by far when they make it fresh for you on the grill while you wait. There pharmacy is terrible! They took over 4 hours to get my daughters prescription filled! I came back 3 times. Every time they told me it would be 20 minutes because they were filling it. Their service is slow and there are a couple VERY rude employees. I will not be using this pharmacy again. read more

Always have excellent service here. Food is excellent. For breakfast, their made to order burritos are excellent, and quicker than most local burrito shops. For lunch I usually have one of their roasted chickens that are available all day! I'm looking forward to trying their ribs at some point, but their chickens are so good it's hard to switch! read more

Always excellent service, rarely have to wait in lines or long ones. Moved from out of the area and was surprised at how service oriented a market could be. Not the cheapest necessarily but that's ok, just watch prices, so many things I regularly buy are always less than Walmart (where I go ONLY as a favor to someone - WHY would someone shop there when you can go to a store like United - and pay LESS??). Only complaint - gosh it's nice that you always offer help out. I may be old enough to be these kids' mom and maybe even a grandma to the youngest staff - but I can outwalk 'em all and handle all my groceries, and when I'm having a wild Saturday night home alone and all I'm buying is a pint of ice cream and a can of gourmet cat food so we can both binge - I do. not. need. help. carrying. out. the. bag.
