If you're looking for a nice suit or something dressier and you'd like to set yourself apart from the Captain's Quarters crowd, this is definitely the place to go. A gentleman I'm assuming is the owner was very helpful and nice, although a bit stand-offish when we came in. I'm really happy to see something in Traverse that caters to men and doesn't subscribe to the Ed Hardy via Jersey Shore aesthetic. Just very tasteful, very beautiful clothes. I will say, this place is by no means cheap and I also kind of worry about its future. I think the reason places like Cali's or What to Wear are so successful is because while you can get the super nice, expensive stuff, you can also find reasonably priced items that the average T.C. native can buy. Not everyone lives on the bay or drives an MG and unless you broaden your appeal a bit, you're done for. No matter how far along Traverse may be as a town, it is still not New York or Chicago or, even, Grand Rapids, to be honest. Not by a long shot. Ultimately--do check this place out if you haven't. I, for one, hope this place is around for a long time!

I had heard a lot of good things about the place and after visiting myself I can easily say that this is THE BEST place in Traverse City for fashionable men's (and even some women's) clothing. I am not from Traverse City but I do visit often as I have a lot of family that lives there. I'm 29 years old, and admittedly a clothes snob, and I couldn't be happier that there is finally a clothing store in Traverse City that rivals shops in the bigger cities like Chicago and even New York. Now don't get me wrong, the clothes here are not exactly inexpensive, however, in this business you get what you pay for and in my opinion the prices are certainly appropriate. My favorite thing about this store is that they carry some very unique brands that are of high quality and a nice change of pace from any of the major retailers such as Nordstrom's or Saks Fifth Avenue. The other thing I enjoyed about my visit was that the gentlemen that helped me was the owner. He was not only helpful and knowledgeable but also very passionate. Everything from the clean and simplistic design of the store to the clothes that he carries is well thought out. Certainly a great addition to downtown and I look forward to shopping here for years to come during my visits to Traverse City!

Some of the makers are local to Michigan, but they also carry things from out of state. The style of the kitchen and home decor they carry typically trends towards the more colorful and whimsical (which is 100% my vibe) though they do carry some more neutral options for the more minimalist shoppers out there. Whenever I visit I usually pick up one or two items (like a cute dish towel or one of their small prep bowls) for the home and a couple of their packaged pantry goods like a fancy mustard or jam. Oh, and they also have a Moomer's Ice Cream counter which makes it even more of an essential stop for us when we're in the area.

My smart phone wasn't being so smart--hence my GPS failed me, but thankfully I called Baabaazuzu and their staff was super friendly with giving me easy directions to their awesome storefront. Once I got to the official Baabaazuzu factory I was overwhelmed by how many beautiful products they create. I've purchased their famous mittens downstate for many gifts (and myself), but had no idea how expansive their green and as they say ; "upcycled" line truly is. After making my purchase, I was lucky to get a cool tour around the facility. I got to see their huge wool piles, beautiful button collection PLUS designers in action!!! :) I felt like I was on a grownup field trip. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone in the Traverse City area; only 30 minutes away from this interactive shopping experience.
