The one-year membership is a scam - they ignored my decision to cancel and kept texting and pressuring me to go back. When we decided to quit and explained the reason, they required us to first go to his front desk (which they don't even have a front desk) to sign a cancellation form, send a picture of my son, write down he's name and then "buyout" the entire membership. Otherwise, they just kept charging us every single month. All students of all ages are placed in one class, regardless of level. It's not a place to learn, it's a place to waste time and money. Half of the class is listening to the instructor "Sensei" talk. They ignore any reasons you give for wanting to cancel and instead send millions of promotions and discounts in text message. Even tried to teach me how to be a good parents. When that didn't work, they threw the contract in my face and demand that us either buy out the membership or keep paying every month, whether we attend or not. I do not recommend this place, if you read my review, please be cautions when you sign their agreement. There are way better places in Vegas that charge less and teach better. DO NOT BELIEVE what they say.

I went to several places and when I came to Thompson Taekwondo I felt so welcomed. It felt like I've known them for years. What impressed me was how long he's been doing Martial Arts for and he is very experienced and intelligent. A lot of the places I went to seemed like they were not as experienced and it was so crowded. The most important for me is that my daughter is happy and enjoys it. Kristen is always very experienced and is great with the kids. Taekwondo is something that takes time if you're looking for a change in your kids behavior. One of the reasons I introduced my daughter to Taekwondo is because we were having issues with her behavior. After almost 3 years, I see a HUGE difference. I would highly recommend Master Thompson, you will not regret it. Thank you worth every single penny. Not only does my daughter learn self defense, she also becomes disciplined, and has self confidence and knows how to respond in situations at school. Thank you!

My oldest is now a purple belt and still working towards his black belt journey. He even joined the demo team this year and he loves every minute of being with this team! He developed not just skills, but also confidence. He developed socially and also learned a sense of responsibility and commitment in everything he does with a "Yes I Can" attitude. On the other hand, my youngest did not push through with attending classes in 2023. Emotionally and socially, he is not ready, but he continued to accompany us and watch his brother attend all his classes. VMA Grand Canyon did not push, every so often they will ask him if he is ready to join the mat, even if the answer is always, "no". The instructors treated him the same even without him joining the mat. They always say "hi" and ask how his day had been. They always encourage him to join some other fun activities and he was not treated any different. Finally, this year, he made his own decision to join the Tigers class and now has a Tiger Belt! He even attends Leadership Classes recently! Victory Martial Arts Grand Canyon is beyond just a martial arts class. Throughout this years, they treated us like family! The owner Mike is great and is a great teacher. I absolutely love the fact I can bring my almost 3 yr old there and they are cool with him running around as some times I have to bring him with me to training...this is a huge plus for me. The students I have met are very friendly and the atmosphere is great. I look forward to going there. The price is very reasonable with a private lesson weekly. Another huge plus is there is no contract, which is hard to find. I plan on being at this place for a long time to come and finally earn my black belt.
