Love. Over the last…read morefew weeks, I've been looking for a spiritual home. I absolutely loved attending Living Water Unity this morning. It was a difficult few weeks in the world, with the earthquakes and tsunamis taking many lives throughout the notorious Ring of Fire. It was refreshing to have a minister not attribute the tragedies to the victims for "wrong" thinking (as happens in "fundamentalist" New Thought churches) or, as likely happened in many traditional Fundamentalist Christian churches, for not being Christian or the "right" type of Christian. Thank you for that, Rev. David Ridge. Thank you for offering loving reflection rather than a ready-made answer that condemns victims. Thank you for reminding us that no matter what happens, no matter where we are, God is with us, and all is well. Well said. Services are held in an intimate space, in a neighborhood at the corner of 59th and Vance. The church has a small band with a big voice that leads the congregation in song. The songs I heard were secular (Elvis Costello and Cindy Lauper) and sacred, weaving into the pastor's message. The congregation was warm, kind, and welcoming. Rev. Ridge proved approachable and generous. He has an easy smile and a warm handshake. I tend to be intuitive, especially when I can touch someone. This man is the real deal. Also, talk among members after the service was lively and fun. And, if you like cookies, the refreshments looked tasty (I stay away from sugar, but they sure smelled good), and there was plenty of coffee and tea to go around several times. It looks like they have a ton of activities each month, from "A Course in Miracles" to a monthly bit of theater (called Theater C), a writers circle (which, I'll try on Wednesday... can't wait!), and far more things than I can list here. If you are into bible based messages and a congregation that loves its members, this is the place. Pastor Jim Demolar and his wife, Barb, are the most giving, loving people you will ever meet. They are growing so fast that they are trying to build a new church. Most all of the planning is done, and building is about ready to start. I am so excited about this church that I just pray they can move forward with the new church with God's will. The childrens ministry is growing so fast that they are having to knock walls down to make bigger class rooms in the existing church! If you like bible based messages, not a stand-up show like some pastors are offering (hint Conifer).then you must come to this church. Bible based, Christian based, just a lovely place to be and bring your family.

Our family made a lot of friendships here, in addition to deepening our faith. In 1991, a neighbor invited us to the Christmas Concert. There was so much joy and kindness we experienced from the people. The music and programs were spectactular. It was a tiny church back then. Through the years we've have many pastors. Each brought their giftedness. The church grew a lot during the Columbine tragedy, including the youth group that had several hundred members. Over the years, the youthgroup has remained strong. I wish I could be a youngster again, just to go on the trips they take. Even though it's a 'bigger' church there is a strong sense of community. It feels like family. Worship varies in traditional style or a contemporary style, depending on the time of year, and time of worship service. People of all ages will find what they need here. Give us a visit!

When I first started attending WBCC, I loved it. But then, I started noticing it us very cliqy. You…read morehave your groups of cliques that have been going to the church for years, and want nothing to do with talking to new people. They make it very clear that they have been going there forever, almost like bragging rights. The lead Pastor, Todd, is a smart man, however, you almost sense that he is just there to be there and he can't wait to get his sermons done with. As a child, I remember going to church where the a Pastor and his family went out of their way to get to know the congregation and welcome new people, that is not the case here. The Pastors wife barely says boo to anyone and you just dont get that warm feeling from either one of them. There a couple nice elders, but thats about it. The only thing about this church that I can say is great, is the high school youth services and the childrens department. However, with a decreasing number of church members, it is going to be hard for your children yo make new connections because the numbers are so low. Also, another thing.that is good, this church does offer the best VBS in the area. So I would highly recommend sending your children to their VBS program and high school youth group. But other than that, I would shop around before making this your church home. The employees and leadership there just not good.

There are several things that impress me about this church. This church believes that fellowship is…read moreso sacred that it sets apart 8 minutes during the service for the congregation to connect. Something special happens when people, who come from a variety of backgrounds, put aside their differences for the sake of the Gospel. Other activities, like small groups and classes encourage this fellowship. The service also encourages fellowship with a time of prayer where anyone can share a prayer so that everyone can pray with them. There is also a time, after the sermon, for the congregation to express what the message means to them. This unity in the love of Christ is what church was meant to be. I think people are drawn to Lookout mainly because of what they just can't find in the world: Selfless love, rest from a hectic world, and healing for a hurting heart. This church, through Christ, also teaches its congregation the deep, deep, love of Jesus and how what Bible teaches is still relevant today. The worship music is great as well!

He is one of the funniest, sweetest guys I've ever met. He's also great with the kids and is super sweet to all of them. After church, he shakes everybody's hands on the way out and talks to them too. (I'm not too sure if every priest does this, but I think it's a kind thing to do.) They also have a amazing middle school and high school youth group that started this year, and it was so fun to go to mountain madness (Happens during janurary or feburary) these last two years and totus tuus (over the summer) I also got all three sacraments last year during the easter vigil, and it's been a year since, ever since this church has helped my faith grow immensely, every person here has been supportive of me and my mom starting to come to church a little later than most people do, so when I got my sacraments in 2024 everyone was so supportive and helpful teaching me about god because honestly I knew absolutely nothing when I first came Overall, this church is such an amazing community, and if you're going to go somewhere for a church, definitely come here!
