I'm usually here 5 days a week, and the pastor is as dedicated as you can get. If he's not at the church working on sermons or bettering the facility, he is off visiting hospitals, making house calls, and reaching people in need. This church has a huge heart for missions too, both locally and internationally. This year they are working in impoverished areas of Rock Hill as well as sending several of the church members to Uganda to teach God's word. They have a ton of lifegroups and ministries too. However, the USHERS/VOLUNTEERS give you an entirely different experience than what is being preached about. They will speak loudly during the sermon, try to carry on a conversation with you during the sermon, compare what the minister did/said during his 8:00 versus his 11:15 sermons, distract you, make you give up your chair for people who arrive more than an hour late for service (when you are deep into the message and are in need of it) then make you seem like you are the problem, etc. There is a disconnect. I've noticed this problem when there is a Black manager in charge of people who don't take him or their jobs seriously. They sabotage him.

Upon entering, my wife went to the information desk. A lady there asked 'What do you need'. My wife explained that we just moved here and wanted to check out the church, i.e., attend today and maybe come back. The woman handed her a "visitor" packet and told her she could go to the church's web site for more information. We thought this was an odd response from a welcome/information desk person. We thought they'd be interested in wanting to know a visitor and answering questions in person (We'd already been to the church's web site). During the service, we saw this woman up front and realized she was the the pastor's wife! Not to judge, but we thought this would be the last person to not want to engage with a potential new member of the church. We attended the service. The congregation was moved by the pastor who gave a good sermon; However, during the entire time we were there NOT ONE PERSON said a word to us! We've never experienced this in all the church's we've visited. It was like we were invisible. Sadly, we felt very unwanted and unwelcome. We have prayed that God can lead us to a church where we can serve Him. I guess this is not the place.
