I always receive the best care from Dr Goodman & his staff. I feel heard. Today I had a tooth extracted. I was anxious about it. Melody got me ready for the procedure by giving me a nice blanket, turning on Netflix & the Nitrous!! LOL!! I was very relaxed after that. The wait times. Good Lord. The doctors and hygienists are so wonderful. But the scheduling is awful. Unless you don't mind waiting. I've hesitated to post about this in the past, because I love Dr. Goodman, but there is zero consideration for your appointment time. Today we arrived ten minutes early. We had to wait in the parking lot like dogs while the got the room ready. 40 minutes later, we were still waiting with no understanding as to why...since we were in our car watching people come and go. I finally called and was met with, we only have two dentists. As if I scheduled this time. Then the next excuse was we said we have to get the room ready when the patient is DONE. Then when I said that's not how it was presented, I was told that I could make another appointment the next morning. Never mind that I work and my kid has school and I already had an appointment TODAY. Then I was told they don't know anywhere that you can get in and see an doctor at the scheduled time. Wow. It's the lack of consideration for the patient's time that I'm giving two stars. read more

Been coming here for years. Love the staff and the doctor. My only complaint would be when you show up for your appointment even on time or a little before you have to wait 1/2 before you are ever called back. Even for a cleaning. That seems crazy. I worked in medical offices for the last 15 years and it just seems like bad planning to wait until the patient arrives to verify coverage and update info. It would make more sense to ask the patients to come in 15 minutes early if their info changed( (tell them this when you confirm the day before) and verify the insurance the day before. Other than that this place rocks and I swear the doctor has a golden touch when doing fillings. You can barely feel the shots at all. read more

I had an appointment at 10:45AM and was not seen until after 1:00PM. I also went here for my root canal and when I came back for my check up the told me that they cracked my tooth!!!! Now they are charging me $1,100 for a new implant. NEVER COME HERE! read more

The people here are generally great and the hygienists and dentists are awesome. However, whomever is in charge of scheduling is kind of ridiculous. I sat in the parking lot for an hour waiting for them to call me in before ultimately leaving because I had a meeting to get to. An hour later after leaving and still not receiving a call, I called the office to reschedule. Apparently, according to the receptionist I spoke to, this happens all the time and it's expected to wait up to two to three hours. So these people expect you to sit at the office and wait in the parking lot two to three hours after your appointment time before seeing you. I understand if things happen and the doctor is running behind on patients, but if that's the case let me know and I can reschedule accordingly. This is a basic common courtesy, respect people's time: Most people have jobs and meetings or other constraints to work around. It makes zero sense, the dentist is going to have to reschedule some appointments if they are three hours behind, unless they plan on working until midnight, so call and let the affected patients know and see if they want to reschedule. I honestly surprised how little they cared. Apparently if you have an appointment you're supposed to take the whole day off and picnic in the parking lot while you wait. Update 6/10/2021: Pretty much the same story on the reschedule. Sitting in the car for an hour waiting to get called back. Apparently this is supposed to be a full week event for patients. Schedule the amount of patients that you can actually realistically see in a given day. This is madness. If you're three hours behind by noon you have at least twice as many patients scheduled as you can even see. Stop wasting people's time, they have jobs and responsibilities too. read more

This place has a great set up, very open and spacious and there's a TV at every chair!. Good for claustrophobia as there are no doors and it's sort of all interconnected. It's very well lit, clean, and they have great hygientists. They're all very friendly and social. The dentist is polite, handsome, and makes you feel comfortable. I like that they never recommend stuff you don't need and they break up more complicated procedures into multiple sessions for comfort. They're pretty by the book, the ABC's of tooth care, so they don't know much about alternative methods. They're always booked up too, so make your appointment in advance! read more

Extremely unhappy with my visit and services rendered, almost feel taken advantage of. Would not recommend. Upon my arrival at 7PM for my cleaning (Yay they have late appointments or so I thought) I was rudely ignored by the front desk receptionist. I signed in and took a seat. I see her look at my name and walk away like it was the biggest burden of her day. I walked up and handed her my ID and insurance card. She looked at me and told me they didn't have my appointment on file and blankly stared at me in silence. I told and showed her the confirmation text I received from the office days earlier. She huffed and puffed. Minutes later she demanded my cards and handed me the new patient forms. In an empty waiting room, I waited a good half hour before being called in after filling them out. I was awkwardly greeted by the dental assistant. She was the best part of this entire experience; she genuinely tried to make me feel appreciated and comfortable. She called my insurance to make sure they would cover x-rays and took them nearly painlessly. Then the dentist came in to see me. I thought to myself that it was odd I was speaking to the dentist before they cleaned my teeth, but hey maybe that's how they do things around here. The dentist that greeted me was not the doctor I made an appointment with. The dismissive man came to see me and asked what he could do for me. I said I was here for a cleaning and he looked at me and seemed/sounded surprised and proceeded to poke around my mouth. Very odd. He said everything looked good and the receptionist would schedule me for a cleaning. WHAT?! This is my cleaning appointment, what in the world is going on? Confused, I made my way to the front desk. The still rude receptionist told me that office makes you meet with the dentist first then, under the doctors permission, will schedule you for a cleaning. Why wasn't this information disclosed when I was setting up my appointment? She then proceeded to tell me she couldn't get me in for a cleaning until late July & they only do cleanings in the mornings, not during the late hours the tout. I walked out & will be changing dentists immediately. I was treated rudely form the second I walked in to the second I walked out. Would not recommend. read more

I scheduled an appointment with my new dentist for a week from today. I went to Universal and signed a release to get a copy of my x rays. A lady came out with a disc. There was no date on it. The lady checked on it and said they were from June. I said that was nice but I had an appointment in October and x rays were taken. She said she'd have to check with Dr. Goodman. When she came back she said they couldn't locate those x rays and that they may be on their server and that they may be able to locate them in a week and a half. I reminded her that my appointment with my new dentist is in a week. She apologized. read more

Love this dentist! Unfortunately, because of genetics I have a lot of internal teeth issues, and I have since I was 15 years old or so, and Universal Dental is the sole reason why I don't walk around in excruciating pain all day. The dentists there are phenomenal and the staff is so pleasant, making for an overall great experience. Also, you get to watch movies while you are being serviced! Would 100% recommend. read more

After searching for a dentist I set an appointment but my mouth was in so much pain I called to see if I could come today and they gladly told me to come right on in. I was greeted by the lovey women at the desk. They ended up doing a Root Canal Immediately I didn't feel a thing. Laughing gas and being numbed up really good made my experience even more wonderful. TV's in the room, and the staff gave me a blanket because she noticed that I was a little cold. The staff here are really professional and compassionate. The dentist is also just as friendly, approachable, and compassionate. Throughout the entire process he continued to ask me how I was doing and if I felt any pain. I came in for an emergency root canal. 2 hours after waiting (When they told me to be there at 1) I saw a dentist, and they did a 5 minute root canal. Since then I have been in agonizing pain. I went in to see him and he dismissed my pain as "normal" when i told him it was so bad it was keeping me up at night. I would not come here again. I had a filling fall out. I do not have dental insurance, so cost was a concern. I, however, knew I needed to get it fixed. I had went to another practice where I was told that I need a root canal and crown, totaling about $2,500. I can not afford that! I was devastated and confused! I had a freaking filling fall out and had no pain! I made an appointment with Universal Dental on a referral from a co-worker. I could not be happier with my experience! The staff was all very kind. My appointment was at 2:30, I got called back at about 2:25. Dr. Goodman filled my cavity without mention of a root canal or crown. My appointment was fast and painless. My bill totaled about $260 for an exam, bite wing x-rays, and the filling. I can't say enough good things. I am very happy and will be returning! read more

Was having some crowns and other work done, and looking at the work after, the crowns dont look like normal teeth. So I paid out of pocket for a crown, and Dr. Goodman sent a bill for it to the insurance company as well as getting paid for it by me. beware of going to this office they will double bill you, and the work is not good at all. read more

I have always had very good experiences with the hygienists and dentists, which is why I keep going back. What frustrates me is the amount of time you frequently have to wait when you arrive for your appointment. I waited for over an hour with my 4-year-old today. I was told the wrong time for his appointment to begin with, and then we were still not in the cleaning chair until well past his actual scheduled time. That is ridiculous. And if you have to reschedule your appointment (as I have in the past, due to illness) just know that you will not be able to get back in for 6 more months. I think the "guts" are good in this practice, but they are not able to handle their volume of patients. read more

I first visited this dental office in either 2006 or 2007. I have dental insurance but depending on the procedure I have to pay a copay. I had an old crown that needed to be fixed and crowns can be expensive. After calling multiple offices to see how much they would charge me to fix the crown, Universal was the cheapest. I remember the doctor had a nice disposition and a gentle hand, by gentle hand I mean that he did not cause me a lot of pain when numbing me. However, I recently decided to cut my ties with this office because of the long wait times. Over the last couple of years I have waited hours to see the dentist. If you have an appointment for a routine cleaning the the wait usually isn't that bad. But when it comes to the dentist I think they overbook him (on purpose) and then people have to wait an hour or longer. One time I waited two hours to get a cavity filled. However, the last time I visited the office was the final straw. I had been waiting around 45 minutes to see the dentist for a procedure not covered by insurance when I noticed the doctor was seeing at a patient who got there after me. So, I asked on of the assistants when would I see the doctor, she explained to me that the billing lady needed to speak with me first. After another 15 minutes (my total wait time being an hour) the billing lady comes to talk to me about payment for the service I was trying to get. I had two issues with this discussion. I had spoken to this lady two weeks prior about payment and why did she have me wait an hour to discuss payment. Also, had I not noticed the customer who was getting serviced before me and asked about it, how long would I have ended up waiting. Having to wait an hour for the billing lady to talk to me was total unacceptable. I complained to the dentist but he did not seem to care and told me that he doesn't handle how the front office is run. read more
