Consultation was smooth and easy, as the doctors took 3D X-rays of my mouth to get to the bottom of the issue. Not only did the first root canal performed stop a few inches too short, but I had acquired an infection as well. Great. Doctor Andrew assured me that the process was one that they specialize in, so I had nothing to be worried about. And I didn't. Upon the day of surgery, my usual anxious and nervous self was calm and ready to treat a tooth that had been causing some issues for years. The procedure itself was quite quick and painless. Shocking! Doc even obliged me in talking through what he was doing and why. I had a great time in the chair! What they do not prepare you for.. is the pain during the aftermath of the treatment. I think many people like myself are afraid of what happens while in the chair, but for the first time in my life, the pain outside of the re-treating process was and has been some of the most excruciating pain I have ever experienced. I think what really sent me into a bit of a frenzy, is that this amazing, sweet, kind and caring facility with some of the most awesome staff members I have encountered.. sent me home with no prescribed medication! After an infection and extended roots!?! The procedure was on a Thursday.. by Friday night, my face was immensely swollen and the pain was so unbearable that all I could do was cry and pray. I was told over the counter Motrin would suffice... and it did.. but only for three hours. As I lay here two days removed from the procedure, and the pressure of my face increases.. I'm still shocked that I was expected to handle something like this without any additional medication before sending me home. Please make sure to inquire about medication that you NEED before leaving.

I have always appreciated the care I have received from him. My concern is with an interaction I had with dental hygienist Melissa. During my visit, I asked for information about my son's upcoming dental appointment. As his father, legal guardian, and the person providing his dental insurance, I expected either the requested information or a clear explanation of any office policy that prevented it. Instead, the conversation included what I perceived to be unnecessary gossip, bias opinions, and commentary that had nothing to do with my request. Rather than simply addressing the question or referring me to someone who could, the interaction became uncomfortable and unprofessional. Later that same day, I called the office and spoke with the receptionist, who provided the appointment information without any difficulty or unnecessary discussion. Based on my experience, I encourage the practice to ensure that staff remain professional, avoid unnecessary personal commentary or gossip, and communicate office policies consistently and respectfully. While I have had many positive experiences with this practice over the years, this interaction fell well below the standard I have come to expect, which is why I am leaving a one-star review. I made an appointment with dr Healy because I was in SO much pain it was unbearable. Despite being terrified of the procedure and dentists in general I slowly made my way into the office. Dr Healy was amazing. He was very confident that he would not only take away my pain but make sure the procedure was painless as well. There were some rough spots but it was to be expected. I was in bad shape to begin with. I'm glad I made the decision to see him and he even called me the next day to see how I was doing and to remind me to make sure I take ibuprofen and my penicillin around the clock. Hopefully I'll never need another root canal again but if I do I know who I'm coming to see!!

One of my co- work owes had same procedure on the same day but different office, hers was painful all day and took longer than mine. That made me feel happy. Oh how I miss my dentists at Gentle Dental…read more I am terrified of the dentist. I am also terrified of needles. This meant that growing up I had a lot of teeth pulled..without novacaine. After not seeing a dentist for 5 years, I finally sucked it up and made an appointment with Gentle Dental. They were great during the exam, at which point I found out I had two cavities and I needed an intensive cleaning called a scaling and planing that was so painful it needed to be done over 2 appointments. Both times the dentist was awesome. They gassed me for the novacaine which was administered much less painfully than I had anticipated. For my comfort, they decided to keep me gassed for the entire 2 hours of the procedure. It hurt, but it was not the torture session I imagined. Gentle Dental really is gentle, and they did such a great job and explaining things to me and helping to ease my fears.

Remind you this was in February. It's now June they made me pay a $75 fee two weeks ago and I was a little bit late for an appointment today. Yes my responsibility because of my daughter's 24 hour cancellation fee and my late appointment. They will no longer let me schedule appointments only same-day visits for everything cleanings fillings everything so I couldn't get seen at my appointment at 4 o'clock. I arrived at 4:20 because they scheduled me for a 5 o'clock emergency visit because I have a piece of bone fragments sticking out of my mouth from having a tooth removed two weeks prior and a massive infection mind. They took me back at 4:30. Couldn't remember the bone because the infection was so bad I have to get antibiotics. They're allowing me to schedule an appointment for next week to get the bone fragment removed at that time. I have to pay $700 I have insurance so with my insurance I still have to pay $161 co-pay at the time of my visit to remove a piece of bone fragment that they left in my mouth two weeks prior that's causing a severe infection and will not go away until it's removed and we put on strong antibiotics. I have to pay for a service that I already paid for that wasn't done right the first time. The Dentist and hygienist are wonderful the ladies at the front desk, not so much and have no problem humiliating you in front of other patients that are there waiting in the waiting room. I am so sad and disappointed.
