The other is a really small TV screen which is quite difficult to watch but I suppose you're not going to watch TV. All in all, an easy five stars. Thanks for your hospitality, guys. We'll be back. The house reminded me of a classic New York summer retreat house with its craftsman style and antique decor. Our room had beautiful Laura Ashley and Ralph Lauren linens, which gave it a very cozy homey feel. The two breakfasts (fluffy blueberry pancakes & homemade syrup, melon & fresh squeezed orange juice the first morning, and pepper, cheese & leek omelettes with strawberries & grilled pear caramelized with cinnamon & sugar and fresh squeezed orange juice the second morning) and cheese platter on our arrival night were delicious. We especially enjoyed spending our evenings on the front porch where there was a view of the lake, pleasant breeze, and fire flies & stars abound. The house is very centrally located to explore area wineries (which we did via bike) and Watkins Glen (highly recommend hiking the Watkins Glen State Park). It was our first post-COVID quarantine trip so we were a bit nervous, but Cathy kept it immaculately clean, provided hand sanitizer, which was always available by the front door and in our room, and Clorox wipes in the bathroom, and she always wore a mask when she interacted with us. Both are well connected to the local food and wine scene and they introduced us to a couple of the vineyards that are within a ten-minute drive of the Inn and pointed us to an amazing restaurant in Hammondsport--again a short drive from the Inn. Although we didn't have enough time to get there, the Inn is also right next door to a brewery and distillery. Our weather was less than ideal, but it didn't matter. We spent a couple of hours one afternoon hanging out in the historic cupola room with complimentary hot drinks and cookies. As history buffs, we were impressed that the Inn is on the National Registry of Historic Places and was also a stop on the Underground Railroad. It was a perfect environment for the family to catch up before another lovely meal in the Hammondsport area. The Inn offers a full and hearty breakfast each morning--enough food that you may want to skip lunch. They are also more than accommodating for each member of our family's varied dietary preferences; both the vegans and carnivores left the table fully satisfied. We will definitely return, and maybe on our next visit we can hit that brewery!

Rarely am I impressed by accommodations, but I was duly impressed with the Acorn Inn. It was exactly the escape we needed after 16 months in isolation. Sheryl thinks of everything and could not be more hospitable. The grounds were impeccable and the bed in the Barn Suite was more comfortable than my own. And the breakfasts were excellent; a perfect start to each day. We will be back and I highly recommend.

I was slightly nervous about previous reviews, but realized those were issues with the previous owners. Do NOT let old reviews deter you! Penny, the amazing new Innkeeper, is extremely personable and attentive and has renovated many of the rooms since she purchased the Inn. I was welcomed with hospitality and the accommodations were outstanding. My room was clean, absolutely huge, and the bathroom had a jetted tub with a picture window of the beautiful views! I watched the sun rise while soaking in the tub a couple of mornings and it was simply divine. The property is magnificent and the views are absolutely spectacular from every angle! The common areas are elegant, yet comfy and the dining area boasts floor to vaulted ceiling windows that frame the view beautifully. Perfect sitting areas to sit, chat, relax, and soak in the scenery. Every morning we were greeted with freshly ground coffee and were asked what we wanted for breakfast. My first morning I requested a "kitchen sink" omelet that Penny made with all fresh ingredients and it was absolutely delicious. The fresh bananas from the market were the best I'd ever had in my life. I enjoyed sitting at the bar chatting with Penny while she glided effortlessly through the kitchen. I am sure she would laugh to hear me say that, but it's true :) Penny helped us set up a wine and brewery tour that we thoroughly enjoyed. She recommended Kismet New American Bistro for an elegant dinner. I must say, she has excellent taste because this petite restaurant completely blew me away! The food was absolutely exquisite and the staff was extremely personable. Penny also recommended a short walk from Kismet to the Historic Naples Hotel for karaoke and to experience a little Naples nightlife. Everyone we met along the way was inviting and charming. Our visit to Naples would not have been as magical without Penny and her beautiful Vagabond Inn! I will definitely be visiting the Vagabond again....and again...

Maureen, the owner, was so accommodating and readily available to answer questions and offer suggestions .
