My…read moreaunt traveled from Ohio and was especially excited because she had been to Al Capone's several times over the years and had wonderful memories of it. Unfortunately, what we experienced was nothing like what she remembered. Our reservation showed a 7:00 PM start, so we arrived at 6:30 as requested. From the beginning, everything was disorganized. We weren't told where the entrance was and ended up at the back of the line. Once inside, we waited in another line for drinks. Then there was no clear direction for seating. An employee eventually took our party of five to a four-top before another server said it wouldn't work and moved us. Once seated, someone asked what salad dressing we wanted even though we hadn't received menus. I finally had to ask, "Do we get menus?" The menu listed Italian wedding soup, which I ordered. I was told they might have run out after serving VIP guests, but then I was simply brought minestrone. When I questioned it, the server acted like I was mistaken and said the wedding soup must have been on their "winter menu." He picked up the menu to check and discovered it DID list Italian wedding soup. This was September 6 in Florida. If you're out of something, just tell the customer instead of making them feel like they read the menu incorrectly. The appetizer arrived quickly but was cold. Then came dinner. I cannot emphasize this enough: this was honestly the worst food I have ever eaten in my life. That is the God's honest truth. I've had meals I didn't like, but I cannot remember ever having an entire meal this unpleasant. Nearly everything with sauce was overwhelmingly spicy. It wasn't one dish. The food as a whole was terrible. When you're paying for a "dinner show," DINNER is a major part of what you're paying for. By the time dinner arrived, our drinks were empty. No one offered refills. No water and no additional napkins. I eventually GOT UP MYSELF, asked for a pitcher of water, brought it back and refilled everyone's water. I also had to get our own napkins. This wasn't just our table. Tables throughout the room had stacks of dirty dishes while dessert was being served. Guests had empty drinks and dirty plates everywhere. It was chaotic. We were told they expected around 60 guests but received 129 reservations. I understand being short staffed, but if you cannot properly serve 129 people, don't accept 129 reservations. Cap the reservations. Being short staffed explains slower service. It doesn't excuse this level of disorganization. When the server told us we could move to the stadium seating for the show, I explained that I had to get our own water and napkins because nobody was taking care of us. He asked how everything else was. We told him honestly that it wasn't good and we wouldn't be back. After explaining the problems with the food and service, his response was: "If the food was so bad, then why are you taking it home?" Yes, we asked for to-go boxes because we had paid for the food. We ultimately threw it away. His response came across as rude and defensive. An offer to get a manager would have been much more appropriate. He encouraged us to stay because the show was better, but we were done. We purchased tickets for a DINNER SHOW. Instead, we endured a terrible dinner and terrible service and were then supposed to hope the show made up for it. We left approximately 1 1/2 hours early. This was supposed to be an engagement celebration. My aunt came from Ohio excited to share a place she had loved with us. Instead, all five of us left disappointed. Even the souvenir photo added to the frustration. We waited about 15 minutes to see it, and my eyes were closed. After everything else, I asked if they could at least give us the newspaper-style photo without the additional $20 charge. We had already spent approximately $149 and were leaving 1 1/2 hours early. I was simply told no. There wasn't even an offer to ask a manager. What bothered me almost as much as the food was the complete lack of concern or effort to make anything right. I understand staffing problems, bad nights and running out of menu items. Any ONE of these things could have been overlooked. But this wasn't one thing. The entire experience was disorganized from arrival to departure: confusing entrance and seating, no menus until we asked, cold appetizer, unavailable menu items, the worst food I have personally ever eaten, empty drinks, no refills, no napkins, getting our own water, dirty dishes everywhere, a defensive response when we complained, no manager and leaving 1 1/2 hours early. My aunt had wonderful memories of Al Capone's, which is why we chose it. Sadly, none of us have any desire to return. We expected a fun dinner show and memorable engagement celebration. It was definitely memorable, but unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.

I love how beautiful the stairwell is going up to two. I love how much they have expanded their food and beverage line up over the years. The sound tends to be pretty good, the communication from the theatre is always amazing. They waive fees if you come to the box office to buy your tickets. The seats are comfy and almost every seat has a solid view. The box seats are the exception so be warned. The volunteers are always amazing and they are so nice. It would be cool if they opened a second location that served coffee because that line for espresso beverages is always really long. I love the breadth of show types. There's always something for everyone.

Wednesday, March 18, 2026…read more Front Row, Center Tickets to Ms. Diana Ross' Concert Performance I've been to numerous events at the Dr. Phillips Center but nothing beats having the opportunity to see a legend perform within arms-length to where you're seated. And when that "Icon of Icons" is none other than Ms. Diana Ross...well, nothing else need be said. It was a dream come true to say the least. In my most previous update of the Dr. Phillips Center I indicated meeting with and having my photograph taken with the incredible soprano Sarah Brightman was an entertainment highlight of 2025. 2026 has just begun but I will have to use the superlative "spectacular" once again. As in a spectacular show from start to finish. Diana Ross may be 81 years old!...but she still has the voice and ahem...the moves of a much younger performer. Just think of this, she was performing with the Supremes in the 1960's. I wasn't even born and by the time I was she had 12 number one singles with the OG of girl groups! And she is still working it to this day. Ms. Ross sung a multitude of her hits which kept the crowd, and my sister and I, dancing and singing throughout the evening. However, when she started to belt out Gloria Gaynor's anthem "I Will Survive" that really got the audience out of their seats. An Icon singing and Iconic piece of music is an experience second to none. Ms. Ross, you and your mark on music history is unmatched...blessings to you and your family!

Went for Night of Poe and it was sssoooooo amazing. It's a traveling cast and they performed a…read moresinging story of Edgar Allan Poe. It was paired with drinks and the not only sang the poems but also had dance and theatre along with it. The cast does everything from setup to passing the drinks and then performing. A great date night, girls night or even a sole day out. They have more than one performance in the day and are doing another performance for infamous serial killers. Worth every penny. You are encouraged to dress the theme and many people did which just added to the overall experience.

Our server was so nice and attentive to our needs. We chose not to upgrade our meals (it was like $20/extra per person if we wanted steak instead of chicken), but we were impressed with the 3 course meal! It started with a Caesar salad, followed with chicken accompanied by veg and mashed potatoes, and finishing with a brownie. The chicken straight up fell off of the bone. I was also served like half of a whole chicken (I had to take some home because I was so full). It was cooked way better than I thought it would be. You can purchase appetizers after you get you salad for an extra cost. The drinks are good but can be expensive. If you're looking for a less expensive alcohol option, definitely ask about using their house liquor. I had to ask them 3 times for them to actually tell me it was like a $9 difference between getting it with their house vs premium liquor. I will say that anything you get from the bar or as an appetizer that cost extra already includes 15% gratuity. Nobody will tell you it does, but it will be written on the appetizer menu in a very light colored font. What I think is a little BS is that although gratuity is included for those, it isn't included for the server who is serving you the whole night. But none of this negatively affected my experience, I just want to make you all aware of this! I would come back for sure with some family who hasn't seen the show.

The show itself was very entertaining, and the set design was absolutely amazing. The entire atmosphere really makes you feel like you've stepped into a pirate world. The lobby area, designed like a pirate marketplace, was especially cool. There's plenty of pirate-themed merchandise to check out, and you can grab a nice drink from the bar before the show. The food was also surprisingly good and definitely added to the overall experience. Service was good for the most part, although there were a few moments when it was difficult to get our server's attention. We went on a Saturday and were actually surprised that the place wasn't fuller, but that made for a more relaxed experience. Overall, this was a fun family night out, and both of my sons really enjoyed it. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something different and entertaining to do in Orlando! ‍

Tickets are reasonably priced, which makes it a more affordable option if you love theater but don't want to spend the higher prices at the Dr. Phillips Center. The venue itself is easy to enjoy: there's a private parking lot, a lobby with drinks and snacks, and even a little gift shop to browse before or after the show. All in all, Orlando Shakes delivered a wonderful holiday experience, and we'll definitely keep coming back for A Christmas Carol each year.

The first room you go into is the holding room but they also play a video where you learn what you are witnessing and who Jason Bourne is. If you never saw the movies, that's fine, they give you a brief history of him. The second room is the main theatre. Pick your row and sit down. I have sat in the front row and I can tell you it is a little harder to see all the stunts. I would say try to go for a few rows back, for best viewing. But I do also like the front, no one in front of you. This is a mixture of stunts, moving objects and screens. The screen is so large and combined with the moving objects on stage, you literally feel as though you are there with Bourne, going through the different scenes. It is unlike anything I have see at a theme park. I absolutely love this show. Overall I would definitely say check this out. Its a great show, its so cool inside and it brings you into the scenes. There are showing throughout the day, but make sure to note the times, it will close earlier than the rest of the park. I think this is because of the stunt actors, they are doing all the shows throughout the day. If this is on your list to see, make sure to check out the times and fit in your day. I really think you will enjoy it. The show will fill up at times. We notice in the summer it is very full every show since it is so hot outside and so cool inside. We particularly make sure to see this once maybe even twice in the summer. The theatre holds a lot of people so your chances of getting in are really good. You don't really need to get there super far in advance. After the que line, you will head into a holding room where they play a video. The video will show you what you are witnessing and who Jason Bourne is. If you never saw the movies, you will still enjoy the show, since this video gives you a brief background as well as the que line having lots of photos from the movies. After that video you will then head to the main viewing room. This is the main theatre part where the show will take place. You can choose your own row, the back section is usually reserved for wheelchairs and last minute people. You can pick where you want but they will ask you to move all the way down. We prefer to take our time going into the theatre so we can be more in the middle. On certain days, when they expect lots of crowds, the team members will really make you move all the way down. If you stop, they almost start yelling at you to get up and continue moving down. You truly can see anywhere, however, the middle is better in my opinion. We have also sat far back, in the middle, towards the front and even in the front row. I would recommend sitting about 3-4 rows back in order to see all the stunts. The stage is raised so when we sat in the front row, there was a lot of things that we could not see. The show itself is is a mixture of stunts, moving objects and screens. The main screen is so large, and then when you combine with the moving objects on stage, you truly feel as though you are there with Jason Bourne, going through the different scenes, fighting next to him. It truly is unlike anything I have see at a theme park. I absolutely love this show. Overall I would definitely say check this out. Its a great show, it brings you into the movies, which Universal does well but has been getting away from a bit. If you get motion sickness, there are one of two scenes that might make you a little queasy, but just close your eyes. It is a great show, I would say check it, add it to your list. ACES!
