I couldn't be more impressed with a theatre if I tried. This past weekend, I had the good fortune to see "Josephine" at Theatre West End. Not only was the performance one of the best I've ever seen, but social distancing guidelines are taken seriously at TWE, and thank goodness. My ticket purchase online was very easy and I received a reminder via email the day before the performance with what I needed to know. There are plenty of great places to eat in Downtown Sanford before or after a show. The team in charge of running TWE are very helpful and professional and I just LOVED my first visit there. I cannot wait to return in NOV for a follow-up performance of "Josephine" and I highly recommend visiting TWE to anyone looking for a fun and inspiring experience.

I cannot say enough good things about Theater West End. I saw A Christmas Story last year and just saw American Idiot a few weeks ago. The cast is incredibly talented and it's apparent that everyone is very passionate about what they do. This Theater doesn't have a huge budget so they do a lot with a little. I have been blown away both times I've seen a show there. They have acclimated their theater to be COVID friendly with dividers and spacing which has greatly limited their capacity meaning less potential for revenue from shows. If you enjoy live entertainment I highly suggest following them on social media and seeing some shows there, you won't be disappointed and you will be supporting the arts!

After dinner, I sat for a while on one of the benches in beautiful downtown Sanford.

Alive after five…read more On the second Tuesday of every month the town of Sanford holds a block party in the center of town. They vary in size and theme but one of the very best is something called Party Gras. Of course it's an obvious copy of the original Marti Gras down in New Orleans and even though it is much smaller in size and debauchery it still is fun and entertaining. They block off the street and musicians, artists and food vendors fill the area. You pay seven bucks for a wrist band and that entitles you to all the free samples of food and drink that you want. A cool idea because it allows you to try all kinds of different things, some of it you might not have bothered with if you had to buy a whole meal. You can go back as many times as you want as long as you are willing to stand in a small line again. The event also had three bands playing, mercifully separated by enough distance so they didn't interfere with each other. Some cool music and talented musicians. They also had a nice old car display, some creative art, and random trombone, trumpet and strangely dressed folks milling around. Of course a nice assortment of friendly and stinky dogs added to the ambiance. Certainly nothing like the original Mardi gras but then that is probably a good thing for Sanford. This is a cool event that allows people to have fun, hear music, see interesting people and eat lots of food without ending up in jail.

Picking your project in advance is required so they can have all your stuff ready. The fine details like colors and stains are decided on the spot. Funny enough, 3 out of 7 of us chose the same project! It was the holiday card display board. But even when that happens, as you can see with my picture, they all turned out very different. The class was booked for three hours and we were indeed there for 3 hours. They sell alcoholic bevvies for $5 and had a great selection. They have multiple bathroom stalls there that are very clean. They have a sink in the back with special soap that takes off any paint you might get on your hands/ nails. The staining process you gotta be careful with and wear the gloves. And the sanding process please be careful. A friend got a huge splinter which was bleeding. They helped us clean it up and put a bandaid on it so she could keep creating. Employees were super helpful and easy to flag when you needed help. But they pretty much roamed around the whole time and jumped in to help workout needing to be called over. I was impressed. They took group photos for us and we left with our beautiful projects! We can't wait to come back. They have events for kids as well.

Cute projects. Value- time plus effort plus productivity = around $73 for this project so I think…read moreit's a little pricey. Large selection of projects and designs. Some projects are less expensive. You need to book a set as limited space is available. Best for group outings.
