Attending the Legally Blonde Jr. Musical with a friend! When I purchased the tickets I didn't pay attention to see that it said "JR" so I was a little surprised at the young cast but it was totally my mistake The theatre was smaller than I expected however I like how close we were and made it feel like we were part of the act. The cast was really good and I had a great time. I look forward to attending another event there maybe a comedy night next time. If you have you do kids or teenagers I'd highly recommend taking them to see this Musical. read more

I have seen two plays at Theater West End-Calendar Girls & Sordid Lives. Both were excellent. Scenery was what you expect from a local theater. The actors portraited their characters realistically. The costumes fit the plays. The sound & lighting were good. The theater needs to do more for their elderly patrons. There are steps & flimsy railings. The lightening in the Women's bathroom needs to be upgraded. There is a parking lot across from the theater-a plus. Restaurants abound in the area, which makes a date night or an evening out possible. read more

Went to the Full Monty production and was not disappointed. It was a wonderful performance by the cast. My daughter and I throughly enjoyed our outing. Front row seats with a table to sit items on. The concession was not overpriced and offered a variety of drinks and snacks. The atmosphere was quaint and eclectic. Looking forward to attending future productions. I couldn't be more impressed with a theatre if I tried. This past weekend, I had the good fortune to see "Josephine" at Theatre West End. Not only was the performance one of the best I've ever seen, but social distancing guidelines are taken seriously at TWE, and thank goodness. My ticket purchase online was very easy and I received a reminder via email the day before the performance with what I needed to know. There are plenty of great places to eat in Downtown Sanford before or after a show. The team in charge of running TWE are very helpful and professional and I just LOVED my first visit there. I cannot wait to return in NOV for a follow-up performance of "Josephine" and I highly recommend visiting TWE to anyone looking for a fun and inspiring experience. read more

A hidden gem! I drove an hour to attend an event at this theatre and it was absolutely worth the drive. The space is so intimate and the performers were so talented. I saw "To Kill a Mockinbird" and I will be a repeat client. Bravo! read more

Their West End Prep shows are fantastic and their professional productions are outstanding like Hadestown (Teen Ed), Bonnie & Clyde, SpongeBob Jr!!. I've seen several of their professional productions as well including Fun Home and To Kill a Mockingbird. I can't say enough about this gem of a company in lovely downtown Sanford. I cannot say enough good things about Theater West End. I saw A Christmas Story last year and just saw American Idiot a few weeks ago. The cast is incredibly talented and it's apparent that everyone is very passionate about what they do. This Theater doesn't have a huge budget so they do a lot with a little. I have been blown away both times I've seen a show there. They have acclimated their theater to be COVID friendly with dividers and spacing which has greatly limited their capacity meaning less potential for revenue from shows. If you enjoy live entertainment I highly suggest following them on social media and seeing some shows there, you won't be disappointed and you will be supporting the arts! read more

SANFORD SATURDAY I had a great time last night. After dinner, I sat for a while on one of the benches in beautiful downtown Sanford. People pass by and said hello. It's a very friendly area. A young woman sat next to me and we had a nice talk. After that, I went to the crown jewel of the evening, THEATER WEST EMD, Sanford's professional theater. I had tickets for the musical, THE PROM. It was delightful. The entire cast gave a stellar performance, and I think we may see the lead on Broadway in the future. Her name was, Amda Ortega, I have difficulty with steps, so a very kind man helped me. It turned out that he was one of the owners, Quinn Roberts. At the end of the play, Quinn and I had a great chat about the play and theater. I do know good theater since I have a degree in theater and was a professional actor/singer, and this is just the best around. read more

What a great idea to put a performing arts theatre on 1st Street downtown Sanford! I came to support someone special to my family who is one of the main characters for the Color Purple musical! It was amazing!!! She was amazing and the entire cast/crew is full of talent! I loved, loved the urban contemporary feel when you walk in the foyer area. My favorite part is the illuminated lighting on the brick wall! The staff was extremely friendly and warm! They were excited to be there, probably as much as I was excited to watch the play! With this production being so popular and offering so much talent, I would highly suggest purchasing tickets online and arriving early for parking and an early dinner. All the restaurants in the area offer great menus and delicious food! Don't forget your ticket confirmation because you will need it to pick up your real ticket at 'Will Call'. I look forward to attending this play again and revisiting for another production. The theatre offers little seating and space is limited but whoever renovated and designed this building made good use of the space! Thank you Theatre West End for picking downtown Sanford as your home. This will definitely bring more business and liveliness to the area! read more

Went to their comedy show, paid for front row $$, ourselves and another couple so we could have pub tables to set our drinks on. Our table was so wobbly couldn't even use it. Asked 4x, 4 separate ppl., no one would help and 1 even lied and said it was the uneven floor. Husband attempted to tighten the screws (which was the problem) and was yelled at by the director to stop. All the while there was 3 spare tables setting by the bathroom and an empty table across from us, all these suggested and no one would help. Along with the A/C must be broke as it was stifling hot, even the poor entertainers had sweat dripping off them and even asked to partake in my fanning myself to stay cool. Low budget, rude staff, few drink choices and ridiculous prices for them. When I contacted them to advise of this, they never bothered to reply. read more

This is a very nice addition to Downtown Sanford. We saw the Great American Trailer Park production here and enjoyed it immensely. The theater is cozy inside, and all seats offer a great view. The performance was sold out, so they must be doing things right. read more

First of all let me start by saying I attended my first production at the West End theater last night for West Side Story . It was an amazing production of the cast incredibly talented. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It is a small and intimate theater the prices are a rare find which it makes it affordable for everyone to attend. Incredible performances of the Arts I will definitely become a subscriber I have the opportunity of meeting a young man who works for Westside Theatre by the name of Quinn who was a sweetheart . They were very accommodating with front seating for people with disabilities which is a godsend!!!
