My daughter lived here for 1 year. The good: location is convenient for Georgia Tech students, the apartment was adequate, and a grocery store is across the street. The bad: the common spaces of the apartment were usually filthy and 1 or more elevators were chronically slow and/or out of service. The final straw for me (and why I'm taking time to post this review) was getting an outrageous parking violation fine from the out-of-state 3rd party company at move-out. Because the elevators were so slow, and multiple trips were needed, my daughter was in the parking garage for just over an hour while trying to load the car. She didn't have a parking permit because she did not keep a car there. She was merely there with a car to move out!! We received a $97 bill in the mail for "unauthorized parking". Still looking for a place to live next semester but absolutely running away from this kind of outrageous gauging. read more

There is absolutely no security and management does not care or return phone calls. Some guy walked into my sons apartment and stole their Xbox and when they realized that someone was in the room they fled. The door was unlocked because mgmt had sent an email saying maintenance will be coming through for maintenance and so the roomNate did not think much about it until they realized a few things were gone. Police report filed, but uhouse mgmt did not care or respond. Anyone from the street can access the building and floors. My son and his roomates Will not be renewing. read more

I have enjoyed my time at uhouse, the apartments are decent and the amenities are comparable with similar apartments. The package delivery service they have instituted since COVID has been super convenient. I love getting my packages straight to my door from the package girl Kate and they are always on time! I have two complaints, the internet here is bad and working online has been really difficult. The security has also been a problem and I am hoping this improves read more

I'll start by saying this is a review from a parent. Location -- It's pretty good. Uhouse is in the heart of midtown Atlanta and across from a grocery store, walking distance to campus, shopping, bars, restaurants, and a strip club that is known nationally. It's not the safest area late at night. If you have a room up high, you'll get a beautiful view. (Although the west side will get the sun.) Staff -- The sales staff is responsive when you call, but it is difficult to get in touch with anyone on the management-side. And, they have little to no flexibility in helping residents aside from the cosmetics of the facility. They were less than helpful when it came to dealing with some more substantial issues. Lease -- Once you sign their contract, you're locked in for a year. Forget any hardships, medical leave, etc. I'm guessing if a student passed away, the estate would still be obligated to pay rent until it ends. They also seek out a commitment early on for the following year as well. You can transfer the lease, but they'll nickel and dime you on fees there too. Amenities -- Impressive, until you realize that you have the same on campus, minus a washer and dryer for most rooms. The Stinger shuttle runs by the complex. Parking -- Available, but costly Rooms -- Different floorplans. Shared kitchen and living area. Washer and dryer included. Bedrooms are private entry. Each room also has its bathroom. Uhouse was built in 2015 and is showing it's age prematurely. It was a disappointing experience. There are plenty of options in midtown and even on campus. Research your options before committing to Uhouse. read more

Pros: my son's room is very spacious, and the location is good. close to publix. Cons: Despite the rent being as expensive as other nearby apartments, Uhouse has the cheapest, faultiest version of absolutely everything from door knobs to elevators. My son's couch came with half the coating scratched off. Staff claimed they would be replacing couches which was either a lie or is taking insanely long to be delivered. All the furniture is ugly and poor quality. The lighting is very harsh in some areas and totally dark in others. His washer has broken twice, and his AC broke once. It took a week to get temporary AC put in and took over a month to get the AC fixed during summer. THREE TIMES he made maintenance requests that got marked as completed when nothing had actually been fixed! His toilet broke as well, and after being out of town for 2.5 weeks and having a maitnence request put in for 3 weeks, they STILL hadn't fixed it! The elevators are broken so often that it is almost comical. My son says that when he presses an elevator button he's surprised if it DOES work. I saw some lady say the elevators are "up and running now" on this page... ok for how long? Staff always, always, always lie about when things are going to be fixed. Over the 1.5 years he's lived here, I can't even count the number of times my son has mentioned that elevator has worked for 0.5-2 days and then broken again. And I'm sure there's some he hasn't bothered to mention too. Buttons are consistently missing inside the elevator too. By the way, the elevators' safety inspections are far expired right now. Everything is dirty, everywhere. Is there even a janitorial staff? Including windows, carpets, floors, and counters, my son's apartment clearly wasn't cleaned when he first moved in, which is so, so unacceptable. I didn't complain as not to ruin his excitement during move-in. One time the gate to the parking garage broke so my son had to park right outside the gate (still in the Uhouse garage), and he got booted on three tires, which was great. This was with official parking sticker on the car at all times, of course. They raised rent by $200/month when I renewed, then by an additional $200/month, and had the audacity to call me and ask me why our family could possibly not be renewing again. read more

I'm a resident at Uh midtown and this place is disgusting. I've been seeing tons of ROACHES all over my apartment, including in my bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room. This apartment complex doesn't take the fact that they have a roach infestation serious enough. Therefore they don't do much about it or anything about frequent exterminations. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Whatever you do, do NOT live here. I've lost count of how many times my apartment flooded and they did nothing to fix the issues and stop it from happening. I've also lost count of how many times the appliances have been replaced but only after they flooded the apartment a few times first. The maintenance men would barge into the apartment like they lived there, and they would ask to use my tools only to return them all damaged. As for the elevators, they never work. I don't think there has been a single moment where all four elevators were working at the same time. One was broken for several months even though it was supposed to be repaired in 1 month. Another thing, if something does break or go wrong in the apartment, don't expect any proper communication or details from university house. Lastly, even after I've moved out I got hit with a $150 damage charge, but when I asked what for they sent me picture of my blinds with the end of one row being bent ever so slightly(picture below). The "experience team" never responds because they never know what to say about the shitty ass building. They told us they would charge us $60 for every trash bag we left and they would charge us for professional cleaning needed after move-out. Pictures are attached below. These SHOULD BE CLEANED BETWEEN LEASES ANYWAY. They just want your money. They don't care about your living experience or anything. Management is horrible. Just was emailed by a "Garret" explaining charges - half of which was helpful. They charged me $75 for leaving a hair in the shower- probably means they don't clean at all between leases. DO NOT RENT HERE. Most of these things could've been cleaned with a free maintenance request but I was left with $600 worth of charges after paying $1400 a month for the shittiest place in the world. read more

I have found the staff at University House Midtown to be incredibly kind and easy to work with. However, there have been some serious issues with living here. For one, the apartments around me often throw parties that last until 4-5AM (that isn't an exaggeration), with music blasting so loudly that it shakes the dishes in my kitchen. This even occurs on weeknights, and it happened the night before one of my final exams. I wouldn't mind weekend parties that go until 1-2AM, but this is really absurd. Another huge issue has been parking. For my first year living here, I was unable to buy a parking pass, and I was told it was because older residents had priority. The closest place for Georgia Tech students to park is Tech Square, and despite it being a short walk, it has put me into many uncomfortable and dangerous situations. When I called the office to discuss how I feel unsafe, as a young woman, walking alone through midtown, I was told that I could park in the guest parking lot. However, when I parked there, my car was booted. I know this is out of the control of the staff, but it is honestly a really ridiculous situation. If I were asked, I would tell friends that the units are very nice and the maintenance is very good. However, I would also say that they should expect loud parties that last until sunrise, and no options to park. Even if one can get a parking pass after a year, $125/month for the pass is pretty expensive. I hope that these issues are fixed, or I may look for other options for housing in the future. read more

When it comes to housing, most people only leave reviews when they have issues. Additionally, I normally only use Yelp to review restaurants, but I feel obligated to brag on the staff here at University House Midtown. Before I talk about the positives of University House, let me state some points towards some of the negative reviews I've read: 1. Living in Atlanta is expensive. University House is in the same price range as other student housing apartments in the area. 2. Atlanta is a big city, therefore, parking is expensive. I do wish University House had more parking to accommodate all guests, but that is unchangeable at this point. POSITIVES: I'm not sure how friendly the staff was prior to Fall 2016, but every experience I have had with them thus far has been extremely positive. The maintenance man responds to requests by the end of the day and the office workers know me by name now. Additionally, my wallet got stolen and rather than charging me for a new entrance card, they gave me a new one for free and hoped my day would get better. Overall, University House is a great alternative to on-campus housing and the staff there is incredible!! Thank you for making a stressful college environment less stressful. read more

Hmmm where do I begin.. Parking management is terrible really no place for guests to park without the threat of getting booted. If you file a maintenance request you should probably file one if something looks like it's about to break since it takes forever. Elevators are not reliable so make sure you leave the building maybe 15-30 minutes early just in case they cut the elevators off and you need to take the stairs. Oh did you buy a bunch of groceries and need to get to the 19th floor? You're SOL just grab some granola bars from the groceries for the long trek up. Safety? As long as your unit is rented out we don't really care. Grabbing packages has to be through the leasing office so if you ship something important make sure it's not around the holidays since they don't post those hours ahead of time or just ship it somewhere else. Also when you lease you're not leasing month by month it's by a period (1 year) so if the unit isn't ready given on the promised date then you still pay the same price. There's more I can type, but I want to give my fingers a rest. A few things a little more in depth below. Parking is $50 a month which is fine, but they contracted the most beloved parking management, Empire Parking Services, in all of Atlanta. I don't have a problem with people getting booted or towed if they are somewhere where they aren't supposed to be. But the guest parking cars don't move because some brilliant being decided you could just put a sign that shows whose guest you are with no limitation on how long you can be parked in a spot. Out of the 12-16 spots of guest parking maybe 1-3 cars move on a daily basis everybody else beat the system. Since the guest parking spots don't move when you actually have people come over they can't park anywhere besides where residents park hence the problem. Empire services also parks anywhere they want whether that's handicapped, future residents, or maintenance spots. Maintenance requests.. If you order a maintenance request prepare to wait maybe a few weeks. Upon moving in the dial that controls refrigerator temperature was broken. This was a big problem since my eggs, milk, vegetables, ect were freezing and spoiling early. It took University House a little over a month to finally take the sample model's dial to replace ours. I could understand if there was a part on order and it took some time to come in but that wasn't the case. I went down twice a week to file maintenance requests since every time I was told this would be taken care of EOD or EOW and then someone downstairs suggested I also file the requests online so I did that as well. Planned elevator downtime. The elevators don't always work properly. So management will just shut them down with no warning ahead of time. So let's say you're on the 3rd floor hey no big deal but if you're on the 10-19th floors that's quite a trek. Management has time to tell me about mocktail events and trivia but can't tell me when the elevator is going to be shut down. Safety. The other day the fire alarm or some type of alarm started blaring just as I pulled up to park my car. I called the front office and no one picked up. I assumed it was a fire so I drove out and went back to school. Everyone I asked had no idea what was going on. I receive text updates from University House for really important information like releasing my unit and thanksgiving feast events, but nothing about an alarm blaring repeating please exit the building. I'm not sure if that was a drill or not but I had friends sleeping that didn't even know an alarm was going off. With that in mind I'm not sure this is the safest place to live since it seems they just care the building is leased out. read more

If you like living with cockroaches then this should be your new home. This place is managed poorly. Broken promises and lies by management. You will pay premium rent and live in subpar conditions. The elevators are slow, broken security gates often, trash everywhere and the trash room are not attended to, allowing the trash to escape into the hallways. But the most DISGUSTING part is this building has ROACHES. They have a bootlegged extermination company that will not eradicate the pest control issue. Do your homework before considering living here, there are much better and SANITARY places to live in Midtown. This new student apartment community just opened in summer 2015 Pros: 1. Water bills included. 2. Furnished for those who are lazy to buy their own furniture. 3. Social events. 4. I didn't deal with maintainence much but they seem to be responsive. 5- Staff is helpful, sometimes clueless but that's cool. I'm not gonna renew my lease, you ask me why. Here's why. Cons: 1. Parking is very limited, it seems to be designed to suit a typical Tech student that commutes by biking or walking. Also, parking prices are ridiculously expensive and they are making them even higher. 2. Thin walls are annoying, you can hear your neighbor next door and even feel their bed hitting against the wall. 3. Did I mention parking? 4. A little bit expensive for what you get, but it's Midtown. Wait there are cheaper places in Midtown. 5. Elevators are not up for expectations considering a 20 levels building. Location is good and bad. At this moment I'm living in a place surrounded by construction sites all over the place. However, what got me to sign a lease with them is the great location and you can check out the neighborhood on your maps. Conclusion: if you're a Tech student that doesn't have a car, willing to pay for high end amenities that you could barely use, then it's for you! Did I mention expensive parking everywhere? Alright. TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATION. I got charged $25 for a "garbage bag left in my room" (even though I left my room spotless). I'm also confused because my roommates left 12 bags of trash and were only charged $75. I guess UHouse doesn't understand basic math either. I have been sending emails for 2 and a half months and I've only gotten brief responses. Once I received my final notice of these charges with a due date. I now realize they're not going to reply or fix the charges until after the due date has passed. Guess UHouse really needs the money since they're charging their residents random fees with no explanation. Really frustrated and annoyed by this situation. I wish I had listened to the negative reviews before signing. I was drawn in by my tour and their flashy social media accounts. However, I have only lived here for about four months with my roommates, and we already cannot wait to move out. I was going to wait to write this review to avoid conflict with the management, but I know many students are looking to start signing leases now and would like to help them avoid the stress I have dealt with. 1. Terrible handled emotional support animal processing About a month before my move-in, I asked what documentation I would need to submit for my ESA. I was told I needed "legitimate medical verification," which sounded vague so I asked if I could submit my treatment summary, which includes patient status, diagnosis, medications, etc. I was not aware of my rights then and asked if this would be adequate and was emailed back saying it would be. I submitted this thinking it was over with, but merely weeks before move-in, I was emailed back saying they needed in writing that I was "disabled by law." I struggled to get this, as it is verbiage more so meant for service animals, and my therapist and other officials I spoke to said it was "unethical" for them to submit this information. After a lot of back-and-forth (I had to move in without my ESA) where it would take nearly a week for a copy-and-pasted response, I was just forwarded to the staff attorney in a different time zone, and we got it sorted out over a conference call where my therapist verbally gave information we had already submitted. 2. Unclean Upon move-in, all of our rooms had a cleaning sticker on them. However, when my roommate cleaned her carpet the day she moved in, the water came out black. Within a month or so, my other roommate and I developed ringworm, while the roommate who acquired her own carpet cleaning services did not. Upon calling management, the initial representative said they only shampooed carpets that seemed overly dirty, but when I got transferred to the property manager, she stated that she had record of the rooms being carpet cleaned. Because we did not call directly after move-in, they would not clean our carpet. My roommate is still finding dried up contacts (she does not wear contacts) and I am still digging up blonde hair (none of us are blonde) from our carpets, even though we have gone out of our way to clean our carpets ourselves. Additionally, my ESA is exclusively an indoor cat. Somehow she got fleas (possibly from the dogs on our floor?), and U-House will not cover flea treatment as it is apparently not their problem because they're not pet-friendly. So I made the tough decision of sending my cat to my parents' house because as much as I can clean and medicate my cat, the fleas are burrowing in the nasty carpet. 3. Bad communication Within my first month or so of living here, the power and water went out multiple times and we received no explanation from the management. Additionally, there was an internet update that was supposed to be done by noon, but it was not done until nearly 6 pm. They did say it was running late around the time it was meant to be done, but then gave no further updates. Do not expect higher management to get back to you in a timely manner. The elevators also get broken all the time, and there is no warning. There was a sign on the elevator after it was broken for a week, but it was taken off after a day and the elevator remained broken for a few more days. Wait times can range from right away to 15 minutes because most of the time only one is working. Additionally, no time frame is given for maintenance requests. They could pop in day off, three days later, or even when you don't want them there! Since they would charge for a flea treatment, I explicitly stated I did not want that but would take their roach treatment since that is covered and my roommates and I have encountered a few of them. They fulfilled that, but then pest control showed up to our apartment without warning, opened the door (no one came to the door because we were in a class/taking a quiz), and were about to start fumigating for fleas before one of us came out from our room and told them not to. We have called about this issue, and have not received a call back. 4. The quality of the furniture and appliances is kind of hit or miss. I know another resident that has a nice couch, but ours came with several tears. The water pressure of the toilets also goes in and out (fixable if you flush several times but annoying) and the water pressure of the shower can also be sporatic. Our washer and dryer unit broke down and had to get replaced. Also, the ventilation is not great. We have to have the AC blasting if we want to use the oven or the smoke detector will go off. Also, the weather has gotten colder, so we have started using the heater which produces a burning smell. The only positive I can give is location. It is right off of Tech Square and across from a Publix. read more

Terrible place to live. The management doesn't care about the residents and they spend money on dumb things instead of taking care of the real issues in the building. For example they just purchased a giant life sized chess board that nobody uses for the pool deck, yet some of the appliances in my unit have been broken for months! Also the other day I was leaving the building and saw a dead mouse in the pool area. Disgusting! I believe that the corporate office is doing all of these "improvements" as an effort to rebrand and compete with other student housing buildings. It all seems like a waste because they are not fixing the actual issues in the building. Perhaps I'm just naive and turning obnoxious music on in the gym is actually just a tactic to distract from all of the broken equipment! Save your money and live in the standard or SQ5! read more

I am a parent but paid the bill so my opinion matters. Overall UHouse is still one of the better options for the area BUT there is much to be improve upon and I do not feel we got our money's worth. We started off last fall on a rocky foot when I spent my friday night cleaning a "ready to move in" apartment which had apparently been cleaned and then painted. That is the wrong order so there was a lot of dust from painting and also found mildew below the sink and in the washing machine. Repairs were handled quickly but it's crazy to think they can turn over the entire building in the short amount of time and do a quality job with cleaning and painting from the last tenants. As another reviewer said - building is showing it's age prematurely. An Elevator in the 2 elevator south bank was down for at least a solid 2-3 months in the spring and other times earlier in the year. Hallway carpet on 13 was nasty at moveout - why wasn't that replaced during the year? Sofa was literally shedding / pealing it's fake leather. My biggest gripe was my safety questions and suggestions to management regarding lighting on the street. I was told it was not their responsibility and to call the city. I reported once to the city and nothing happened. This past weekend, we moved out at 11pm so that we didn't have to wait forever for elevators (back to my original point that it's crazy to move all at same time), I saw the dark block of 8th street that the GT students have to walk to come from campus to the parking deck or lobby. Someone can be easily hiding in the dark. My child has moved out but I spent 2 hours this morning (lots of hold time) with the city of Atlanta to report the street light and then Georgia Power for the 4 street lamps on that block. Service orders are definitely in the system now so next year's tenants should have a safer, lit walk at night. Why didn't UHouse management take the time to report these issues for the safety of their tenants?! read more

It is a really nice option because of the location but the WiFi has been very bad and it is very inconvenient while taking online classes. I do appreciate the package delivery system due to COVID! The one service unique to Uhouse that I will miss is the package delivery service. Kate, the employee who delivers our packages, is so sweet and friendly and is very efficient at her job. I needed a sublease after transferring to tech and LOVED living at UHouse. I love how close it is to the Publix and to a bunch of restaurants (Moe's, taco mac, waffle house, chipotle) and how the shuttle runs right past us. I've lived in UH Midtown for almost two years now. It hasn't been the best experience, and I would recommend living somewhere else in the Atlanta area, especially if you are a Tech Student. Let's start at the very beginning. I signed my lease in January of 2016. After going back and forth for many months on my living situation, it was found that they simply LOST my lease. I had a physical copy of my addendum in my possession, signed by the manager, but the office had no record of it. This didn't happen once, but twice, again the following year. While they were somewhat accommodating, the fact that this happened in the first place was, needless to say, appalling. Similar management issues include being charged for "maintenance blind repair", when the blinds were damaged when we moved in, and were marked on the initial check-in sheet. The charge was only removed after emails back and forth with the leasing office, after which they admitted their mistake. Seems like this should have been checked first. Now, to a typical day living in University House Midtown. You'll come home, after a long day of work or school, only to become incredibly frustrated that 8th Street, where the parking deck is located, is under construction about 80% of the time. You will either be forced to drive all the way around to loop back into the garage, or occasionally not be allowed to park at all. While not the complex's immediate fault, it is an irritant, and you will find yourself cursing at inept construction workers more often than not. After you pull into the parking deck, you'll probably be blocked off by people parking illegally or hanging out in their cars in the area immediately around the gate, an inevitable cancer that occurs from a lack of guest spaces to park (around 20). Originally, there were guest passes for parking, as well as a 24 hour limit, but these are no more. There is the occasional car that quite literally gathers dust down there (I'm looking at you, black Mustang). Seems like my experience should be a little bit better for paying more than $100/Month for parking. Then you have to get in the elevator to go to your room. The building is split in two halves almost, so there are two separate elevator shafts with two elevators each. Divide this among a building with 18 floors and countless residents and you get a nightmare most times. For kicks, I sometimes measure just how long it takes for the elevator to arrive. My record? SEVEN MINUTES. You get up to your room, and it's okay. Nothing really stands out, it is a standard, furnished, slightly small room. My only gripe here is that you aren't really notified what exact floor plan you are getting (at least, not in my case), just how many bedrooms are in your apartment. I am in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment at the moment, but have seen other 2 bedroom apartments with a drastically different, larger floorplan. Paying similar rent to me seems off. In essence, this building is a glorified dorm, so expect your experience to be that of a glorified dorm room. They have frequent apartment "checks", where if you've left a pot on the stove, for whatever reason, they will threaten to hire cleaning staff for you, on your dime. The apartment constantly has raging parties down by the pool during the spring and summer, and on multiple occasions I have found myself calling the police to deal with the situation after literally watching the nighttime "security" fail to effectively deal with the situation. My hallway constantly smells of cigarettes or weed, even after the front office told me they would "handle the issue" after my complaints. Long story short, it's a complex full of college kids, with a continually failing attempt at monitoring by the management. Spend your time managing illegal drugs, loud music at 1AM, and managing your own leases rather than threatening your residents about a dirty pot on the stove, or in the case of some of my friends, threatening to evict residents because their supplied emotional support animal certificate isn't "valid enough". Puppies are worse than weed, apparently. Their motto is "You should live here". Don't. read more

Communication is great unless you need something. Sofa upon move in didn't look great but weeks after move in, the sofa started flaking in tiny pieces and stuck to the bottom of my shoes and feet. I put in a request and was told they had to place orders and would take time. Office came up and agreed they should be replaced. Vacuuming often and little pieces of the sofa ends up every where. I follow up again...and two weeks ago they said they would have them replaced. It's been over two weeks ...No call and still not done. Sofa cushions should have been replaced before I moved in. Awful communication and service... it's always me having to reach out. read more

Don't live here, it treats its residents Horribly and atempts to Nickle and dime it's residents. There are 4 elevators and most weeks there are at least 2 broken and at time 3. The power and water will randomly drop off at times, for example we have lost power 2-3 times in the last month with no explanation. The trash room was not emptied for an entire week filling to the point the door could not be opened and people had to line trash up outside the trash room and down the hallway. Once again, no explanation. Low quality, over priced, and I've lived there for 2 years and am soooo glad I'm leaving in 2 months. read more

Lived here over the summer and it was a mistake. If you're looking to live in Midtown look elsewhere or seek a long term Air BnB. If you like paying too much, living with roaches, and coping without the luxuries of running water or power, then this is for you. Water was out for 48 hours at one point and there was one functioning toilet in the whole complex. Roaches literally lived inside of the oven and I could see them on the stovetop clock. Not to mention how an apartment that is only 4 years old looks 40 years old with stone ceilings and walls. Only enough parking for 25% of residents so don't expect to get a spot (I didn't). Wake up early to get to work because the unreliable elevator situation adds a solid 5-10 minutes. Area is dangerous on weekend nights with a nightclub literally right next door. And when you think you're done with it all, they charge you $80 to take out "garbage" that you left (i.e. a trash can and a dustpan we left for the next residents). This comes after broken glass and random garbage sat in the hallways all summer long with no attention paid to it whatsoever. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE. I have lived here for a few months now and this place is by far the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. First, the management here is absolutely abysmal. They lied to us about the room we were getting and then mispriced us for our room (charged us for a bigger floor plan than we actually had). When we went to address this issue they basically told us to suck it up or leave the complex (this was a week before school started). Management here does nothing to address any issues you have and basically shrugs off everything. Second, parking here is the worst in Atlanta. They only have enough parking spaces for a quarter of their residents and it is up to the individual to find parking themselves. I have to walk over half a mile in order to get to my car because parking around here is so bad. Third, there are two new office buildings being put up next to this apartment complex which creates a lot of noise during the day as well as in the mornings. These buildings will also block the sun and view from the pool area making it basically useless. There are many more issues but these are the overall main issues I thought this place has. Overall this place is not a place anyone should live at as there are much better deals in the area. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have really enjoyed my time living at University House Midtown. The staff is very helpful and friendly in the leasing office, and the unit I live in is beautiful. There are so many great amenities included as a resident, including a great gym, awesome pool and outdoor space, and great study rooms. As Midtown's skyline has grown around UHouse, the pool does have limited sunlight hours. However, the buildings surrounding the pool create a very cool urban feel and help block loud noises from the highway. read more

I'm currently leaving here and pretty upset about my experience so far and moving out as soon as I can. We've had our water out for two days now with no explanation, warning, or communication from management. Literally can't flush the toilet or drink water or take a shower. I called them right when the water went out and they said it someone was down there and it should be up soon. 24 hours later I called and turns out they still hadn't started working on it. Had I known this was going to take so long, I would have stocked up on water from the grocery store or stayed somewhere else to shower and use that bathroom. This was just the cherry on top of my stay here. When I first moved in, they wouldn't let me move my car to the parking deck even though I had already started paying for the car because there was a hard date to be allowed into the parking deck. I have not had good experiences with the front desk people, and they have called my parents instead of me multiple times and every time they do, my parents complain about how rude they were. Most experiences I've had align with this as well. Security is also never fun to talk to as they're mean and very hard to work with. Half way through my stay here, they decided we needed to pay for an outside company to take care of our bills without warning. They also changed the guest parking policy to 14 flat for any guests coming. Personally, I believe this should have been listed in the contract and we were notified up front when we were signing as I would have liked to take this into consideration when signing. The vibe here is generally one of partying. It is extremely loud, and I have made noise complaints at 5 am from parties all night only to be met with attitude. The walls are very thin so it's very easy to hear ANYTHING going on. Including the very loud clubs next door and construction. But also anything you do will be heard by your neighbors so even if you're living alone, there's not much privacy. Because of the clubs and parties, there is a lot of mess around and broken glass etc. A lot of people use the front steps as a hangout or cover for homeless people from the rain and it can get pretty sketchy at night. As others have said, the bugs and elevators are a problem. The elevators break a lot and are very slow. I give at least 5 minutes to get down from the 15th floor. I see spilt food, drinks, and even throw up in the elevator and trash spilling out of the trash room-which makes the bugs come a lot worse. It seems like the cleaning staff consists of two (very nice) women for the entire building. They really need to hire more. The amenities are getting old and warn down even though this is still a new complex. The workout area is pretty bare and gross and I have not been there once when all the treadmills were working. I have been there, however, when NONE of them were working. There was also a span of about three months where there were no wipes to wipe down equipment. The pool is nice, but has sunlight about 3 hours a day because of the location they chose to build it in. The study area is very crowded usually so I don't use it. The location is great with Publix, midtown, tech square, and Marta being so close. Parking is very expensive around here so guests have trouble parking. This is the only positive I see though. I would highly recommend choosing one of the many new student apartments popping up around tech. This apartment has caused me A LOT of unneeded stress on top of an already very stressful environment. Pick. anywhere else. Even if your friends are here- it's not worth the (high) rent. Get your moneys worth with sq5 or standard if you need to live in the same area. I will be soon. read more

Whatever you do, don't live here. I've had issues from the very beginning, issues that could have been solved from the beginning. But I'll let you be the judge: 1. Almost all apartments have a balcony. Our group of 4 had requested one three months prior to moving in and we were promised one. Lo and behold, we move in and there isn't a balcony. We speak with management to try and get a room swap, and still to this day they have not done anything about it. 2. The rooms all come with blinds. But for some reason mine was the only one in the flat that did not. On the second day of living there, I brought it up with the management because the lights from outside were so bright at night it was very difficult to sleep. They said they would do something since the blinds are supposed to come with the room and I thought that would be the end of it. Three days later - still nothing, and I went to speak with a representative again. Four days later - still nothing, at which point I'm getting agitated because of how difficult it has been to sleep. I go talk to the manager at this point and tell her that I will report them to the local tenants' rights group if they didn't fix the problem, and she said that the two previous representatives never put in an order, and that it was going to take another few days. It took them almost 2 weeks to fix this serious issue. 3. In the same vein, I put in a request to have my chair fixed because it didn't have one of the armrests. The request was in for over a month and they still didn't have it fixed. I have to go to the manager AGAIN and ask what had happened, and apparently it was marked fixed when it very clearly wasn't (I showed her a picture). So apparently their maintenance staff clears work requests without completing them. 4. Their parking policy is ridiculous. It costs $100 a month for parking, and guest parking is $4 an hour which is ridiculous. One time my boyfriend visited and bought 3 hours of parking. The parking had expired so he went down to add more time and it was already booted. It was at most ~5 minutes outside of the time period bought. So ontop of actually spending $12 on parking he had to pay a $75 booting fee because of their predatory practices. 5. The elevators are extremely slow and constantly break. So if you are still going to live here, get used to walking up the stairs. 6. Their RFID residence scanners don't work, and they refuse to do anything about it. I have tried to scan my RFID card to get in the building and been unable to get in. I've had issues with using my RFID card in the stairwell and unable to get out. God forbid they part with a nickel to fix their system. The RFID scanner in the garage didn't work properly and let everyone in which is a huge security issue but it took them multiple weeks to solve the problem. Don't live here. The maintenance team is slow and shady. The management only care about saving face and making money. Live literally anywhere else. read more
