This is a nice little mall, that has variety of stores including Kohl's and JC Penney. We found the only bubble tea store in this city in this mall. There's also some popular stores like H&M, American Eagle, Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret, Zales, Kays and Verizon. Prices are fair, alongside sales promotions in a lot of these stores. The staff did a nice job of keeping the mall clean and safe. They got a food court, that sadly has only 2 stores. There's a free children's play area. Throughout the mall there's also spots for guests to sit and rest. The parking lot is pretty big, lots of spots available. read more

University Mall is relatively small size compared to ones I have been to in other states. It does have JCpenny, Sephora, B&B etc. Big parking lot outside. Limited selections of fashion, home, jewelry and food. Food court vendors are practically empty (2 are open?) We got something from JCPenny at discount price so it's pretty good. Got drinks in bubble tea place, also reasonable price. The staff keep the mall very clean. I see them walking around. People in most stores were nice. read more

University Mall - Shopping Centers Near Me - South Burlington, Vermont

FREE and lots of parking spaces, kind of a dead mall but overall has good stores still and is a great third space for students and locals. There's some newer stores as well as a few vacant spaces but still a good place and area. read more

This seems to be the only mall/shopping area in the area really. We've been coming from Canada every couple months for several years as we like to cross border shop and sadly there isn't a whole lot to see these days. Malls are a dying breed, luckily there are some anchor stores like Target, Kohls and JC Penny which are worth checking out. The Target is tiny and doesn't offer much selection compared to the Plattsburgh store but if you want trendy clothes/home decor at an affordable price, this is your best bet. When we come to this mall we usually like eating at Ihop - otherwise note there is practically no food court left. Just a couple sad juice/smoothie/bubble tea bars and an Auntie Anne's kiosk if you want fast food, otherwise the Applebees is also conveniently located in this mall. The expansion of Bath and Body Works and H&M were good additions to the mall - however I'm sad the Yankee Candle is closed, there used to be a couple in the area and it seems there's not a single one left in the whole state. If you want clothing, I recommend Kohl's they seem to have the best styles and many sales. I noticed there are a few gaming/video came/sport stores that opened up lately, they take on the larger store fronts but I wish there were more well know brands establishing themselves here. You can do every store in the whole mall in less than an hour easily. read more

So many stores have left, and the food court has almost no food vendors. I hope they can turn this around. It's helpful to have an indoor space like this to work on training my service dog - especially in the winter. read more

As far as Vermont malls go, this is the best one! Close to uvm college students, places to eat, and hosts a variety of deals for clothes! This is a family friendly mall and very clean. The bathrooms are kept up nicely. read more

Vermont's largest mall was pleasant and had all the major retail chains and some intriguing retail tenants besides. The FYE store was exceedingly well-stocked. The clothing stored such as Bon-Ton had excellent selection of everything. A big surprise was the food court, where we found a terrific Chinese take out meal for under $20. There was a collectors shop which had baseball cards, comic books, samurai swords, graphic novels, old toys, and many other terrific things. read more

This is a poor excuse for a mall. No real great stores, just a lot of junk. Charlotte Russe, Spencers and Deb are just a few examples of the low end stores that fill this mall. The food court has nothing to offer as well. A dirty Dunkin Donuts, a Taco Bell and a greasy McDonald's are just an example of the fine dining this mall has to offer. Give me downtown any day - Chico's, Ann Taylor, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, MAC, Macy's not to mention fabulous places to eat and shop along Church Street. The best thing for the University Mall would be new owners, new management and a bulldozer. read more

If I were ranking the malls in VT, this would be the top spot. Comparing it to malls elsewhere though? It's ok. It's a got a lot of your typical anchor stores, a Bon-Ton, Kohls, Sears and JC Penny. There's even a VT speciality shop there. You can get through the entire mall in about an hour. I avoid it when I can, but if I had to shop in Vermont, this is where I'll go. Parking is easier than the Church Street mall, and the selection is *OK*. I can usually find something that I'll buy. Plus there's a Lindt store with the most fantastic staff you'll ever meet. Though, if you're a tourist popping through the area, realize that there's very little that you'll find here that you can't find in any other mall in America. read more

This is a good mall for VT. This is definitely not like the mall I grew up going to with carousels and every food choice you can imagine. The food court here is lacking for sure, with no real healthy meal options but fine for a quick pick me up while shopping. The market here is small so the stores are all small but it's to be expected in a c class mall. This is VT after all and it's prob as good a mall as we will ever have. read more

The mall is nice and clean and is mostly occupied. Most of the stores are great and are clean and organized. The food court and bathrooms are the only sketchy places in the mall with the food court changing restaurants almost every time I go. Its the best mall in Vermont but still is not amazing. read more

It is a one story mall close to downtown Burlington. The stores are mostly name brand ones like Sears, JC Penney etc. There is a small typical food court, looked busy on a Saturday afternoon. Ample parking available. Mall seemed safe with families as the patrons. I was looking for local stores, but I was not that lucky. There are few nice restaurants and other smaller strip malls in the vicinity of the mall. read more

This mall has taken a slow stumble in the past 3 years. I've seen several businesses close their doors and now see them replaced with sketchy gift stores. It's too bad because the building itself is very well done and is a perfect spot for a mall. They've also let in a lot of advertisers and small time merchants for stuff like phone covers, tshirts and such that populate the walkways and just make the mall feel crowded. I used to like the food court as it uses a nice skylight and is a large expansive space, but like the rest of the mall they've lost merchants and the selection of food is bad now. Anchor stores are OK (Kohl's, JCPenny, Bon Ton, Sears) but they don't really stand out as great places to shop. JCPenny is starting to feel like it's on its last legs (again). Parking isn't bad but the design of the parking garage near Sears is an afterthought and the parking layout in front of Kohls is terrible as all the spaces are cramped and staggered. Not sure what they were thinking there other than: "How do we get more customers to fit cars here?" It's totally unnecessary as far as I can tell It has a nice large customer service desk but it looks to be populated more for Lottery Sales and last time I was in the mall there was no one at the desk. I only saw some teenager lying down on the bench in front of it. All in all, UMall HAD potential (great space, decent parking) but management of it may have waned over the past year and it seems to have none if any direction at this point. read more

Parking lot has an awful layout. Spaces are too close together and half the time your waiting for someone to make a ridiculous six point turn bc the spaces don't accommodate a normal sized car comfortably. Getting in and out during the holiday season is ridiculous. Anytime I come here I regret the decision immediately. Mall is a waste of space. read more

It's a mall. Like most malls it feels like it's 65% occupied. Too many malls exist in this state because of exorbitant rental rates. It's stupid that management would rather have empty shells than open stores; even if that means you get a little less rent. As for selection, it's pretty typical. The FYE is nice, the crew at Hot Topic were great to interact with. The food court is sad... I guess the subway and McD's pushed everything else out. Avoid it. Otherwise, if there's something you need from say, a Children's Place or whatever, it's worth a visit; but it's too small and empty to qualify as "Something to do on a rainy day" Blame greedy management. The place is clean, though I didn't see any security, which is troubling. Maybe coming from New Jersey, I'm spoiled; but for being "the biggest mall in VT"; it really disappointed. read more
