I thought I would drop a couple items off, when i first checked in i was greeted with an unfriendly associate. After, they looked at my items which was a pair of DANSKO clogs that look perfectly new and was offered $17 and change, ouch. I was then looking around the store and saw some clogs that were beat up and peeling on the heal and wanted $35 for them. How come you want people to donate but the offers are terrible. I have heard this store is closing and I can understand why. I brought in a bin with almost all new designer clothing and shoes (tags still on). The brands were Steve Madden, Calvin Klein, J. Crew, Ann Taylor, etc.. and they offered me $8.40 for a Calvin Klein dress with the $134.00 tag still on it and a pair of artisan earrings. I left the earrings because they were a gift from an ex (probably $50), but I will never go back. It didn't even pay for the gas to get there. They gave me $1.50 for the earrings. I've sold so many things on Facebook Marketplace, but was hoping to not do clothing that way. I will definitely sell these on FB and deal directly with my neighbors than this ridiculous franchise. read more

Review is based on only one experience here. Friendly, helpful staff. Fast turn-around for quick cash, about a half hour after dropping my clothes off while grabbing lunch on a busy Saturday. Got about 20 -30 % of the going prices for same or similar items on Ebay and Poshmark for high end, 1-2 y.o. lightly used, or unused and even tagged items and shoes, e.g. Michael Kors, Lands End, Merrell, etc. Seems like they have software that prices for them - no negotiation or haggling. Would probably use FB marketplace in the future; but is convenient if you don't have much time to deal with local FB customers, or online selling. read more

Took some brand new things in for sale. Of the 4 bags of items, they took 3 things. Did not take cargo wide-leg pants because not in style, despite being for sale at many other stores for brand new. Will try to find a different place to sell our clothes in the future. read more

I was told over the phone I could bring "all" of my clothing and shoes in regardless of the season and as long as they were in good shape, good brands, etc. I brought in 7-13 gallon trash bags and 2 boxes of shoes, sandals, dressy work boots, sweaters, dresses, skirts, tops and some sweaters. when I came back to get my offer they only took about 12 items! she said "most of it was winter and I could bring it back later." I was shocked and not very pleased to say the least. after lugging all of this stuff there on a very hot and humid day I was not feeling like lugging it back home; I really though style encore would take most of it. I felt taken advantage of, lied to and pressured!! I will never consign with them again. And to think of what they turn around and sell the items for is outrageous too! read more

I was pretty impressed with this place! I attended the $20 bag sale over the weekend with my mom. I had never been here before and was expecting something similar to Plato's Closet and was just praying this place would carry my size. I was pleasantly surprised to find that although the format and concept of the store are like Plato's Closet, the clothes are a little more... "grown up"... and feels less like a highschool girls closet, and more fun and flirty yet business professional. I am in that weird not quite plus size but almost plus size sizing when it comes to clothing, so I was also very excited to find so many options- EVEN in the CLEARANCE- that fit me! The clothes range from Loft to LuLa Roe, and cover a myriad of brands I've never even heard of. The styles cover everything from date night to night in, and all of it is fashionable. During the craziness of the bag sale, the Employees were still SO friendly and welcoming, and even chatted with me while I waited in line for a changing room. I could tell they were already tired, but they were super nice to everyone regardless. They have a bathroom which is nice, and the store itself is very clean and brightly lit. The only suggestion I would give this place is to reconsider some of the pricing. The bag sale was amazing, and the quality of clothes is pretty great. Still, one of the dresses I found was originally marked (by Style encore) $45... I got it in the bag sale so it ended up being way less, but it had a rip in it (I'll repair at home) and was probably really only worth $10 at most before the rip. Overall, I give this place 4 stars. I will definitely be back, but most likely during a sale! read more

It may be because I'm not wealthy, but is it me, or is this store WAYYY over priced?? I mean seriously. Only time I can shop is when it's 90% off or bag sale. The prices are almost as much as buying it brand new (right off the designers website!) I looked for dresses this summer and couldn't find any that weren't MORE than they are online. If you can afford it, they have a nice selection, but for us 'regular people' I'd look for thrift stores that actually charge a price people can afford. read more

When I was here a few weeks ago I overheard a staff member (manager or owner I'm assuming) speaking with an employee making an insulting remark towards the physical appearance of another one of their employees. SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! I was there with my friend (she was shopping) so I didn't want to make a scene, but to see a 45 year old (guessing the age) acting like a 15 year old got my blood boiling. I'd never shop there anyways, but they lost the business my friend was going to give them as she was so put off. If I saw this happen once, you know it's been ongoing. Treat your employees better. I almost never review retail here but I couldn't keep this to myself. YOU CANT TREAT EMPLOYEES BADLY AND GET AWAY WITH IT. DONT SHOP HERE! read more

The store is very clean and well-organized. They have lots of brand name items that are reasonably priced. I browsed the store for about a half hour and selected about ten items to try on. My name was added to the wait list for the dressing room and my items were hung on a rack so I could browse while I waited. Twenty minutes later my name is called and TWO of my items were waiting for me. There was no explanation just several employees saying "I didn't touch it." Ridiculous prices if you want to sell your items. I had a Steve Madden 150$ shoe French connection 300$ dress and Vince camuto big bag etc stuff and they would take it for 20$ was not happy with them. They don't know their designers and quality. Also a pair of coach shoes they refused to take which are in very very good condition. Go somewhere else if you want a reason buy back price. Today I brought in a basket filled with clothes - dresses, tops, some brand new never opened packages of tights, jeans, shorts, linen pants, two pairs of boots, and some jewelry. All in great condition - some with tags, some worn only once or twice. I was told it would be a 40 minute wait with the two bags ahead of me for them to review. I browsed around the store while I waited to see what if anything they would want of my items, and then I went back to the register after browsing the whole store. The girl at the register had just finished going over my bin and she said me they were interested in my boots, but that the entire bag of clothes that I brought in "either wasn't items they carry, or they just didn't sit well with them." It wasn't until I was out the door that I realized what she had just said, and I was totally bewildered. As far as items they don't carry, it was an entire bag of women's clothing all bought within the last year or two, but what "didn't sit well with them"? At a clothing store? I would understand "not our style," or "not a brand of interest." But my clothes (and again, it was JUST a bag of clothing, plus some jewelry and the boots) didn't sit well with them? Vaguely judgmental and makes no sense. It wasn't graphic or disturbing content...it was a bag of clean brand new or like-new clothing from a scent-free, smoke-free, pet-free home. So what exactly didn't sit well? Such an odd, off-putting remark. read more

I really embrace the idea of the resale of good quality clothing at a reduced price. So I took several items to the store - most were in very good condition and a couple were brand new, labels included Talbots and LL Bean. The woman who waited on me was, frankly, very snotty. She said they only want items that have been in the market during the last two years, and that she could tell by looking at labels if the items were older than two years. Admittedly, some were, but given the very good condition I expected they would be purchased. In the end, they purchased only three out of ten items. It's fine if they are trying to market to a specific type of client, but I'm not sure who that client is. I looked around the store during the 20-30 minutes it took the staff to evaluate my items and didn't find anything I would want to buy! I'd rather have good quality clothing with a not so famous label than most of the clothing I saw there! read more

I have given Style Encore a few tries, and while you can find great denim for reasonable prices, the staff here makes the experience really discouraging. I recently brought clothing in and was (literally) the only person in the store. I dropped my bags and filled out the forms and while there were five people on staff, it somehow took them 35 minutes to sort through my (again literally) 14 items I had brought in. The staff seems lazy and aloof, and extremely uninterested in the customers or providing a quick and efficient experience. I worked and managed consignment retail for 7 years and would be appalled as a manager to see my staff taking that long, and being so disinterested in the process/customer. This also wasn't the first time I've been subject to a long wait. I have watched them mishandle bags and put others bags before people who had been waiting first. Once they forgot to write my name on the board and I have no idea how long my clothes were actually done being processed, but the service here is lackluster and completely disengaged from the customer experience. Getting cash on the spot is awesome but I would save your items for a local consignment and a staff that is a little more competent. It is too bad because this place has the potential to be a really awesome store to trade out your wardrobe, but the way the store is managed doesn't leave much for a positive experience. read more
