Got new tie rods , new tires, alignment front end. Drove away, car was making funny snapping loud noise on every turn. Went back he said don't worry about it. Drive it around it will stop making noises Finally took car to another place. Front driver strut was broken and making noise, Said it was very dangerous to drive like that. cost me more money to get it fixed. You'd think he would have alerted us .. University Shell has always been there for me when I needed it. With great prices and timely repairs. They helped my younger sister when her tire blew twice in one day. After some research, the Shell team noticed that the tires were blowing due to a problem with the shocks. They dug deeper into the problem and found that there was a recall out on the shocks of her vehicle. We were able to get this issue fixed for free at the local dealership thanks to Bill's genuine act to find us the best deal. He expected nothing in return. Horrible people skills. My car broke down an hour and half away from home and I had no cash and insurance tow was for 15 miles. I called to see if I can park car overnight so I can make arrangements to get it in the morning and the man told me no! Only way I can park it is if they were working on it. Really? Sebby's Shell kept my string of elderly junkers reasonably operational for several years of graduate school. Their prices were average, and they were also willing to tell me when work would be more than the cost of the car, or when something needed doing but wasn't urgent. My last experience: I brought in my car around 9:30am with a clunky noise on left-hand turns. Bill wasn't sure he would be able to get to it that day. Before noon, I had a full diagnosis and estimate. Again, he wasn't sure the parts would be until the next day. By 4:15 I had a call that all was fixed and my car was waiting for me to come get it. Also, I am the type that likes to have a little basic understanding of how things work and what went wrong. Bill never disappoints on that front and allows me to ask questions where others would shrug me off. I can't believe how fast and thorough the service is. These people are amazing, I was referred to them by Illini Tire for A/C servicing. Everywhere else in town was going to charge me at least $160 for them to check my A/C and do a freon charge. When I called, Eric asked me what was wrong and then gave me a detailed break down of what they would do and about what it would cost. I took it in the next day and Bill talked me through what they were going to do and that he would call me later. No more than an hour later he called to let me know that it was a quick fix that required no freon charge and my bill was only $81. Not being from around here I was worried about finding an honest and reliable place to take my car but I have found that in University Shell and will go nowhere else from now on !! read more
