Highly recommend - -I was told by Meineke I needed a new catalytic converter which would cost me around $3,000. I took it to Velaquez in Aurora, and they actually brought me into the shop and showed me that the catalytic converter is absolutely fine. The noise was due to a broken exhaust pipe (which they also pointed out so I can see it) -- which they fixed for parts and labor for $208 -- incredible service, honesty, price, and customer service. I have never had such a positive experience at a car repair shop --Thank you, Carlos, and repair team for the great experience and genuine honesty! This place is BAD. I had my catalytic converter replaced within six months my check engine light went on again and I went to 3 auto shops to have them checked what causing it, they all said Catalytic converter was bad. All of them advised me to go back to the place who installed it because it should be under warranty, and they all told me Velazquez install an aftermarket part. So I called Velazquez shop in Aurora and Carlos said bring it back here today. So I hurried and left work early to be there at the shop, then when I got there, Carlos said, we reset your car, if the check engine light turn on again bring it back and we will replace it. The following day engine light went on and I called and asked to speak with Carlos then I introduced myself then he said hold on and he transferred me to a woman, the woman said I will pay for Labor and I said how much is Labor, she said $385.00, I asked are you going to put original part this time? She said You will have to pay for the difference, I said how much is the difference, she said I will call you when I know the price, she never called back it's been 2 weeks. Even if they re-do it, guaranteed they will put another after market part, then I will have to go back again after few months to have it fix again then I will have to pay $385 for their labor again, where the other auto shops said if they would have to fix it they only install original parts where they would charge me almost about the same amount I paid Velazquez for the after market part they used for my car. I'd rather pay the whole price for the original part somewhere else than have Velazquez install used parts again and pay their bad Labor again and again. Bunch of Scammers. read more

Easy, hassle free, affordable, and no appointment needed. I came in for a quote on my mufflers during a weekday. Due to it making a real loud noise while driving for sometime now. Ask for Carlos, him and his team did a great job overall! They were able to take my vehicle in almost right away and after about 15-20 minutes explain to me where the sound was coming from, cost, and what would be covered. I was shopping around for the best option and choose them. They said just come right in no appointment needed and it should take about an hour or two. The repair was less than two hours fast! Whether I need an oil change with regular oil or synthetic, their prices are more than fair. They are dependable and reliable. I pulled in one day ready to pay for a new brake job on the Lexus. They refused and pointed out that it was only that my tires were under-inflated. If you need routine work done on your car- moderate engine work, tires, muffler or brake work- this is the place. Family owned. No frills, just great service. Coming for California, their fairness and honesty surprised me. They saved me hundreds and I needed to save some money as I just moved to Aurora. I had to go to Wendy's next door and buy lunch for the whole crew. I was that satisfied. This is what midwest service is about. So I have extensive history with this place. Angel and his crew has messed up on 2 of my vehicles. Now they owe me over $400 (probably closer to $700) and instead of refunding my money, Angel says I have a credit. So today I ask to use my credit, he tells me that my credit is only good for OIL CHANGES. That's right! I requested the owner call me and and Angel says that's not possible and I can take him to court. Yep, court! The fact that I have given him so much business over the years, trusted him with my car and my children's cars and he would treat me like this? He never could even fix the timing chain on one vehicle (that's how I ended up with the "credit" in the first place). I feel ROBBED. Basically, avoid this place at ALL COST. Angel, you're no better than a thief! Now my car is at a REAL shop with REAL professionals and IF you have done something to it (since you had it overnight) I WILL see you in court. I went to Merlin's to get a quote for 2 straight pipes welded in to fix an exhaust leak. They quoted me 2.5 - 3 hours, and $300. It took an hour wait to get me that quote. I then went to Velasquez Muffler, and they told me it would only take 30 min and $80 to do the same thing! Within 40 minutes of pulling into the parking lot, it was all done, and my loud exhaust leak was gone! It turns out that for the $300 that Merlin's quoted me for a patch job, these guys would have installed a full performance exhaust system. I highly recommend this place, and I'm definitely referring all my friend and family to this place for exhaust work. read more

Go ahead and settle in... I want to ensure you know every detail about what happened to me so that the next time your car needs an easy fix--you drive right past this place. On the evening of July 11th, I stopped in to Velasquez because I was in desperate need of brakes and rotors (front). I went in with my fiancé and they told him that I needed front and rear done. My rear were not nearly as bad as my front so I declined doing all four and just wanted to focus on the front. The price I was quoted was $220 - about 80 bucks less than the Aurora competition. It was late in the evening so I left my car there overnight so they could start first thing the next morning. July 12th I get a call that my car is ready. Fine. My fiancé goes and picks up my car and drops it off at our home. July 13th (Friday morning) I am driving to work and something isn't right. I've had this car for 5 years and I know when something is 'off'. When I would brake, I was hearing a grinding sound. It was not braking like I had just received new brakes and rotors. When I arrived to my destination, I smelled a burning smell and there was smoke coming from the front end of my car. I asked around (did not ask a professional) and was advised that when new brakes are put on, they have to be 'worn in' and may smoke a bit.... Did I believe it, no. Did I let it go, yes. For weeks, I went on knowing full well that something wasn't right. My brakes continued to squeal and grind; I was livid because I let them touch my car. I knew better because I read some of the negative reviews... but I gave them a chance anyway. MY BAD. I was not about to go back and let them 'fix' anything because I knew it would be done incorrectly again. On September 21st, I went to another shop (reputable shop with great reviews) in Aurora. I asked them to check the front brakes/rotors for me because I didn't feel they were done correctly. I also asked them to replace my rear brakes and rotors because it was time. On the morning of September 22nd , this auto shop called me and told me that Velasquez used brake pads that were not made for my car. They had used the cheapest material brake pads and filed the pads down until it was a close enough fit. Slapped the rotors on and used OLD HARDWARE to attach said brakes and rotors. Not only did I have to pay the new shop to repair my rear brakes and rotors, I had to pay to fix and replace the brakes and rotors Velasquez shamelessly put on my car. I paid $220 dollar for brakes that didn't even fit my car, rotors that didn't fit those brake pads and OLD HARDWARE?! I'm two (2) degrees passed pissed. My quote from the new shop was darn near 500 bucks. I didn't have a choice but to fix it because the quotes anywhere else were much higher. I called my fiancé, explained to him what happened and he asked the new shop to send him pictures of the brake job Velasquez did to show as proof that they didn't do it right. We headed over to Velasquez shortly after and my level headed fiancé demanded my money back. They were telling him that we couldn't get our money back, they would replace everything if the new shop hadn't touched anything. WHAT?! Why would I bring my car back to the fools who messed it up in the first place. Fool me once, shame on you, attempt to fool me twice SHAME ON ME. IT WAS NOT HAPPENING! This is getting long so I'm going to attempt to cut this short because a lot happened in a span of 60 minutes with this place. My fiancé went back and forth with the trick at the front desk and got nowhere. Fine. I am not so level headed. I went in there and gave them two options, give me my money back or I file a police report for theft, file another report with BBB and also file a lawsuit for having me a pay for service they did not provide. Either way, I was getting my money back and going to attempt to shut them down in the process. The little girl at the front desk... I'm choosing my words because YELP doesn't allow foul language. She was a piece of work. Put her hands in my face, had the nastiest, sassiest attitude and I was about 5.3 seconds from completely losing it. We exchanged several words and ended up with $110. HALF of what I initially paid. We had to go to the new shop, get the old brakes and bring them back to Velasquez for them to give a FULL REFUND. The little girl at the front desk was so sure that I wasn't going to get my money back but GUESS WHAT!! I got my money back, you little tyrant. *sticks out tongue* STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! DO NOT GIVE ANY MONEY TO ANY VELASQUEZ SHOP BECAUSE THEY ALL WORK TO CHEAT AND SCAM PEOPLE WHO DON'T SPEAK SPANISH! I got my money back but I will still be filling a claim through the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Not only are they scam artists but they have that little Halloween witch at the front desk that needs to be taught a lesson in customer service. read more

These guys are awesome. This is our 4th or 5th time doing business with Valezquez, so this review is overdue. Anyway, we've gotten our brakes replaced here a few times and the service is always fast and fairly priced. We purchased our own brake pads and Valezquez only charged us $50 to resurface and install them. They're very efficient, so we never have to wait longer than an hour. We have a Honda Accord and the dealership was going to charge us $289. read more

It is now May, the ball joints they installed on her Mustang have rusted almost all the way through, and her car is dangerous to drive. I went here to get my car brakes fixed and some other repairs. The next day I noticed that my original lugnut was gone and replaced with a lugnut that didn't cover the stud. I called and spoke with a receptionist who advised I could come back and they could fix it. I went back and the guy who replaced the lugnut admitted that he broke it and paid out of his own pocket for another lugnut. His lugnut didn't cover the stud fully though. He tried to argue with me a little bit about how the lugnut not fully covering the stud didn't matter, however, I walked away and went inside to speak to the manager. The manager stated he would go purchase the correct lugnut that would cover the stud fully and have it put on. I was satisfied with this resolution. Overall, this place does a pretty good job and if you have any issues or concerns they will fix it for you. They also will take you to the back to let you know what is wrong with your car so that you can see with your own two eyes what you need. read more

This is a place you should avoid at all cost. First of all you should be ready for a 1 1/2 to a 2 hour wait. I had 2 converters replaced by this company and 1 of them went bad within the warranty time. I took the car back 3 times for this problem and finally I bought a new part on my own and they removed their bad part and then told me they were not going to refund my $160.00. I ended up contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge. They do not have the best interest of the customer at heart, instead they have money on the brain. read more

I had a muffler and catalytic converter installed on my car. The converter came with a warranty. With less than a year into the warranty, the converter starting rattling so I went back and asked them to replace it. They refused saying they would only replace it if my Check Engine light came on. I pointed out that it is defective because it makes all this noise and didn't initially, but they still refused. Instead they wanted to remove the factory provided heat shield. I declined that option since the heat shield would not come on the part if it wasn't required/recommended. No companies add extra parts to things these days just for fun. In summary, this is a case of "you get what you pay for." Sure this place is cheap, but they sell cheap products and they don't stand behind them. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I was assured that the muffler would be an good bargain with the "lifetime warranty" - ha, come and ask for it when that cheapo rotten a year later. You have to pay again to have a new one installed. Went there a few days ago and was told that they needed to order 2 bolts with springs to tighten up front exhaust pipe. Parts were not on hand so they said they would call me when parts come in. When I called back after a few days they lost any record of me and asked if I could come in. This time someone else says car needs a new pipe to be installed. I reluctantly said ok and had to wait an hour and half for installation. After driving down road I hear a different noise coming from area of repair.
