We first met Jenni three years ago when we made a late decision (December for Jan deadline) to enroll our older daughter to Westridge. She was recommended by a work colleague. Initially, I tried to work with my daughter myself and found it was not working for either of us. Jenni worked really well with our older daughter, who found Jenni to be very patient and explained things in a much easier way than I did. After working with Jenni, our daughter's practice scores noticeably increased and ultimately she scored close to maximum score and was admitted to Westridge. Fast forward to November 2018, when our younger daughter also expressed an interest in applying to 7th grade at Westridge, we did not hesitate to contact Jenni again to coach our younger daughter. Again, Jenni worked patiently with her, explaining new concepts to her that had not yet been covered in her regular class. She also went on to have a significant bump in her ISEE score and scored very highly. She is currently waiting her school application to be completed. Overall, we are very happy with the service provided by Jenni. She is highly professional, flexible, reliable and quick to respond. Both my girls are considered top students in their classes, in a top school district but without coaching, their practice scores were clearly lacking. I was referred to Up test prep by my daughters educational therapist. My daughter is entering 7th grade and had been assigned a whole lot of summer reading and homework. She struggles with dyslexia (which she can control) and cognition. The one on one help that she got from her summer course was amazing. She came home each day so happy and said she learned so much which is a huge compliment for her having to attend summer classes 6 hours a day. Jenni equipped her with tools that she will use with her essay writing this year. We also hired a home tutor thru UP and Kelsey was amazing. Our daughter is in the 5th grade and attends a progressive independent school where they do not take any tests. As she is getting ready to move on to middle school, we felt that it would be helpful for her to learn some test-taking skills. Unlocking Potential was recommended to us by several families we know who had good experiences with their tutors. Our daughter has had a weekly class with Carly for the past few months and she loves her sessions so much. Carly encourages and challenges her, and they have such a good connection. As a teacher of students who pretty much all take the ISEE for the past 10 years, I have known Erin and Jenni both personally and professionally as innovative educational leaders in the realm of test prep. They have partnered with my school and provide what I believe to be the best curriculum to teach to the test that you can find. They also work to find the right match for your needs, whether it is a class or for individual tutoring. Some places like Huntington Learning Center say they do, but from my experience talking with many families, isn't really the case. I was referred to UP from a friend at my gym, whose daughter used their tutoring service to prep for the ISEE and HSPT. I had already enrolled my son for the previous 2 months with another tutoring company, and he wasn't improving much. I was desperate since he was taking the HSPT in a few weeks. From the moment I contacted them, UP was very prompt, understanding, courteous, and really listened to my situation. They were more than happy to help and set my son up with a tutor who was perfect--a great male role model, no-nonsense, professional, and prompt. I really liked how his tutor always scheduled the next session before he left. My son was able to get his practice test scores up to where I wanted him to be for the test. Unlike the other company, they were open during the Xmas break (test is in January.) I will definitely go with them for my daughter when she takes both tests in 2 years. I've had two of my children tutor with Unlocking Potential, preparing for the ISEE and tutoring on various subjects. I have also worked with many other companies and tutors over the past 12 years, so I can genuinely tell you that Unlocking Potential is different and does an amazing job. Both of my children had some processing issues and trouble with memorizing and I can tell you that Jenni is incredible!
