I booked my daughter's braiding appointment through Unruly about a week in advance. While the booking process itself was a little tricky at first--I actually had to call for assistance--I am so glad I did because everything that followed exceeded my expectations. Khouri was absolutely amazing with my daughter. She arrived right on time and kept in constant communication with me, letting me know when she was on the way, what supplies she preferred, and even sharing her favorite brands. She is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and also one of the sweetest people I've ever met--her gentle voice and calm demeanor immediately put us both at ease. The service itself was excellent. My daughter chose basic box braids, and Khouri's work was immaculate. Her parting was precise, the braids were uniform in size and length, and the finished style looked perfect. What impressed me even more was how gentle she was--my daughter is usually tender-headed, but this time she sat through the entire two-hour appointment without a single complaint. I could not be happier with the results. We will absolutely be booking with Khouri again, and I highly recommend both her and the Unruly service. Unfortunately my experience wasn't positive although I had high hopes. While the stylist and employee that works on appts were both pleasant, I had a number of issues: 1- the business structure was very nickel and dime experience; to blow out hair, to trim the weave, to style, etc. each were treated as add ons. Yeluchi's base cost is equivalent/slightly more than other salons, but Yeluchi was not providing all the services that would be included as a basic service. I recognize that the cost to come to client's home is a premium but it shouldn't result in minimal services. 2- More importantly, 2-3 tracks became loose/undone within 1 week. I had to set an appt with my regular stylist to correct issues. read more

Very convenient way to get ya hair done especially in a jam. The services ere utilized twice by me once for my sister and once for myself. The website is very easy to use and book your appointment. In fact after a series of simple questions you are all booked in less than 4 minutes! In the case of my sister, her appointment with another stylist ( non yeluchi) had literally cancelled on her at the last minute. Yeluchi literally came to the rescue and was very helpful in accommodating with her work schedule as her flight was literally 3 days away. She was paired with the stylist Roxy who was very professional and ready to work. She came with all her supplies and made sure that the style requested matched what my sister expected. A few weeks later, I had to use the service as my usual stylist had a jammed finger. The style i opted for was crochet. I was rather hesitant about using the services for this type of style because there were not many photos of clients with this style on the ig page or website. I don't remember my stylist name ( lol im horrible) but se was friendly and came on time. She braided the base for my crochet really quickly with minimal tension to my head as I am very tender headed. The style wound up being very volumious which i liked but the parts were very visible and the method in which the crochet was done was not what I was use to as my usual stylist uses a method in which the crochet knot is not visible. Yeluchi is very great service for women on the go and need to get there hair done. The owners are so accomodating and ask for feedback after every style and work their hardest to ensure that the customer feels satisfied. Usually if I want to get a protective style with my stylist I have to book it 3 weeks in advance and like the fact that I can book and someone is always available at the time you need them. I do wish that there were more pictures of the clients wearing the styles on the Instagram page, which i do notice that they have increased a little in recent weeks. Also, a description blurb about each stylist, for example if a certain stylist speciality is braids twist, or weaves would be a nice addition. I go hard for black owned businesses and will give the service another try! read more

I would strongly urge you not to use this service - if there is any problem both the stylist and Yeluchi customer service will do nothing to help you. After Tiffany did my daughter's hair it began unraveling - I notified her immediately and she agreed to come back two days later to fix it. In the interim, I notified Yeluchi and Abigail first blamed the hair I had bought (I had to remind her that it was Dosso Beauty as SHE had recommended) and then she blamed my daughter's hair for not being the correct texture (she assumed she is only Latina because I had mentioned that's what I am). Tiffany ended up not coming as she had promised and Abigail stated they were busy with other customers. I was appalled that no one would offer us help as my daughters hair was unraveling to the middle of the braids at this point (despite dipping in hot water repeatedly). I had to buy small rubber bands and it took me and my mother over a half hour each to re-braid every single braid and place a rubber and on the end! I also mentioned several times in my hiking and communication re: Thai being for my young daughter and I was not instructed to purchase child's-length hair which Tiffany complained about repeatedly. I've been using Yeluchi for the past year, and am disappointed to say that I'll no longer be using their services. I had an appointment scheduled at 9am this past weekend, and my stylist texted me a little after 9am to tell me that we "might need to reschedule" since she unfortunately wasn't feeling well. When I called the company to check in about getting another stylist for that day, I was dismayed to find out that they already knew my original stylist wouldn't be able to make it, and hadn't contacted me. No one apologized for the inconvenience, and I was instead asked if I was able to be flexible and have my hair done another day (which I wasn't able to do since I planned this appointment around an upcoming vacation.) The company let me know that they would look into finding another stylist for me. After 2.5 hours of waiting, they got back to me and let me know that they wouldn't be able to find anyone for today, and again, did not apologize, or even offer alternate times or days for another appointment, or even mention a refund. (I asked for a refund, which I do expect to show up within a day or so.) Up until this point, I was incredibly happy with my experience at Yeluchi - which made this experience even more surprising and disappointing. I don't think that I can trust them after this incredibly inconvenient experience. read more

I found Yeluchi today on Yelp and I am incredibly happy with the service! I called Yeluchi today to find a stylist for my cousin who was visiting from out of the country and was leaving the next day. From our first conversation through the appointment, Yeluchi was nothing but super professional and friendly. She worked hard to find a stylist for me at such a short notice, and above all, managed to get me someone even though I was outside her coverage area (I was in JC). The stylist was Taahira and she's the most knowledgeable, friendliest, and professional stylist I've worked with! She arrived ahead of time for her appointment and spent a lot of time helping my cousin and I with information on how to maintain our natural curls. Thank you so much, Taahira!! I'm always hesitant about letting other people do my hair. I've been wearing and doing my own braids forever and was ready for a change as I'm transitioning in life, personally + professionally and thought it fit for my hair to join in on the fun. -- I went for a Full Sew In with a closure and Theresa was my stylist. Full Head. Hour and a half install. Unheard of. Still baffled, because my hair is perfection. Not once did I feel that she was rushing my style -- I was extremely comfortable. We watched a few horror shows and then reality tv for laughs. Best time getting my hair done in all of my life lol. Seriously. It was the very first time I didn't have anxiety during the entire sitting. I actually didn't have anxiety at all. I would recommend Yeluchi to anyone. It's such a great product. This is such a great service. I totally love love love my stylist, she was early, pleasant, talented, and just generous. All under 3 hours. Will definitely use this service again, because its the best to have someone come and do your hair in the comfort of your own home. So glad I found this service.
