We even ended up getting creative after playing and made a little tennis ball pyramid on the court, which made the visit even more memorable. It's open from sun rise until dusk and you'll see a variety of people doing different workouts and I've never seen it too packed. They've also got bleachers for those that want to get a stair workout in. The parking is plentiful and I'd recommend parking in the shade. This is mostly a track review but there's also a skate park and other fields where you can get some physical activity in. All in all it's a great place to get a little exercise in or even just get a walk in and some sun.

If you're looking for entertainment for the kids, you can take a mini train ride throughout the park. On weekends they have the snack bar open. They sell candy, soda pop, hamburgers and hot dogs. Never had anything there but in case you came to the park and decided to stay a little longer, then there's food available. They keep the park relatively clean. Plenty of garbage cans so no littering. There's a beautiful creek that is close to the park.

The pickleball courts are right next to the bbq's and tables and that's all you will hear. The noise pads that were suppose to dampen the sound actually made the court louder and bolder. The sound is not covered on top only on the sides and have been poorly installed. The residents that live near the court are pissed because all you can hear is the pickleball noise inside their homes. You can't go outside without having a headache now. Soccer, volleyball, baseball, and other sports do not penetrate into your home! Pickleball does even with all the doors and windows shut in your home. Not enough is being done to litigate sound reduction. There quality of life has juristically changed for many residents and people who come to the park daily. Requesting permanent removal of the Saratoga pickle ball court for everyone's sanity. Thank you for listening.

They don't really check. Session is 2 hours but we only really skated for about 45minutes - 1 hour. The young kid area can be hectic. There are plenty of little penguins to go around which is nice. It was a nice first experience for my kiddo. Plenty of parking but can be hectic as well. Please watch as many areas are one direction lanes.

SP's location isn't too bad, considering that it's in ESSJ. SP has your usual amenities, and a few unusual ones: -5,500 sq foot skateboarding area -Coyote Creek Trail access -Playground and Tot Lot -Non-reservable Picnic Tables w/ BBQ pits -NO restrooms Other than the skate park, SP is pretty cookie-cutter design. Unless you're into skateboarding, or live close-by, I can't really see coming out of your way here. With that said the facilities are pretty well-kept, and graffiti-free*. SP gets my customary 2.5-stars, with a 1/2-star bump for having cool features like trail access and the skate park. *Expecting a skate park to be graffiti-free is pretty foolish around here. They actually did try and keep it clean, but after about a year they realized that it was a Sisyphean task. Personally, I don't mind it as long as they keep it on the skating area and off everything else.

That puts 4 decent skate parks in east San Jose. There isn't any parking and even parking on the street is severely limited. Whether you can park in the adjacent school's parking lot is a mystery. We parked in front of someone's house for our short visit. I noticed a sign that seemed to have rules on it. It was about eight or nine feet off the ground and I would need a ladder to be close enough to read it. We had to pass the playground to get to the skate park. I noticed that they used a soft material there to cushion falls. The skate park was a combination of street and vert. You had to deal with the street to get to the vert, at least, at a minimal level. The graffiti is a bit frustrating as it is very slick, but adds some character to an otherwise bland surface. The bean bowl at the far end is about the same size as the one at Lake Cunningham or Granite skate park in Sacramento, but the graffiti makes it much more challenging.
