i've been here multiple times since moving to Columbus and every time it is delicious! Most of the time I come here for lunch, but since there aren't many breakfast places in Columbus, I decided to try it out! It did not disappoint! I had the breakfast wrap with sausage and it came out in literally 2 minutes, fresh and hot! I also tried the New Orleans Chicory Cold Brew. I was unsure at first as the barista stated it was a more bitter coffee but they had cream and sugar if needed, but i absolutely loved it the way it was! Service is always on point! All the employees are so friendly and willing to help you make a decision (there's a lot of good ones)! Lunch rush is usually pretty busy and parking can be difficult, but TRUST me... you'll have some good food and coffee! Don't forget to try their homemade cinnamon rolls!! They are huge and to die for!! I've also had their chicken salad croissant and chicken caesar wrap which are very good too!! Highly recommend! read more

Up Down Eatery And Coffeehouse is a rare find in Columbus. They consistantly have good food, and great service. They have the BEST coffee, no where else in town comes close. The coffee is both smooth and flavorful. Also, their service is incredible! We have been going since the first week they opened and everyone from the owners to the newest employee has always made it feel like we are family. While the majority of our stops have been for coffee and breakfast they have a full menu supporting lunch and dinner. This spot is worth your time and money. Go for the coffee (salted caramel mocha/pumpkin with caramel pecan) stay for the service (top notch), and come back because the price is always right! read more

This place is awesome!!! I actually found a fall drink that is fall in a cup. I've tried a lot of pumpkin drinks but theirs by far is superior to all others. Starbucks does not compare. Everything was pretty slow. When the food arrived it was cold and bland. Even the coffee was bad. It was as if everything had just been taken out of an old freezer and half microwaved before being thrown on flimsy styrofoam and with cheap plastic ware. The muffins are from Costco. Nothing seems to be fresh or made in-house. The experience was awkward and overpriced. Will not be returning. Would love a better breakfast option, unfortunately, this is not it. read more

We evacuated from Louisiana due to the hurricane Ida. In a frantic turn of events we decided to come to Columbus, MS. During our stay we ate at multiple places that were all subpar, until we came to this restaurant. As soon as you walk in through the door, you smell coffee and baked goods. Everyone is SUPER friendly, makes sure your food is good and there's a genuine want to make your experience the best. I ordered the golden chicken with sweet potato fries and my girlfriend ordered the Up-down platter. Her food was seasoned well, hot and fresh as looked very tasty. I added Buffalo sauce to my sandwich and everything held together perfectly, unlike other places. You can literally taste every component of the sandwich from the sauces to the veggies and the BUTTER on the bread. Everything was perfect and if by any chance you're ever passing through Columbus, stop here. It's truly worth it. This was probably the only silver lining that came out of evacuating. One of my new favorite spots for sure. I got the Updown Chicken Wrap and Sweet Potato Waffle Fries, absolutely delicious. I've also tried the Nachos which were very good as well. The people were excellent, even going as far as explaining what the Pickle Fries were, which I will be taking my daughter in for soon! I've only ever been for breakfast, but their breakfast burritos are good! Coffee is average. When you go inside, service can be a little slow, but the drive thru is usually quick. Columbus desperately needs a breakfast joint, so this place fills that void. read more

I think I've found my new coffee hangout. The environment is so well put together, and feels very homey. I instantly felt relaxed. The staff are incredibly nice and considerate, and very helpful. I got an iced caramel macchiato, and I do have to admit that it's the best one I've ever had before. The food is also great. Stopped at this cafe on a recent trip to Columbus to visit family. I'm always happy to find a local, non-chain coffee shop cafe. I believe this place has been open since January. We were there about 3 in the afternoon and business was slow. Maybe 2 or 3 other guests came in while we were there. The space is very clean and simply, but pleasantly decorated. The menu has options suitable for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. There are many coffee options including espresso drinks. It appears that many of the drinks can be made hot, iced or frozen. My usual coffee drink is a double cappuccino but I opted for a salted caramel mocha. Hubby had a frozen Frappuccino type coffee drink. Both were delicious. We both had the BBQ bacon cheese burger. Not the best burger ever, but certainly fine. I would have tried the cheese danish that other reviewers have mentioned but they were out. The server was very friendly and helpful about the menu options. The food came out reasonably quickly. The place was charming and I would definitely visit again for coffee and pastries or a meal. read more

Great cafe! The quality of the food is excellent. I had their egg platter and was one best I've ever eaten. I travel all over country and it was a nice surprise to find this restaurant/cafe in Mississippi. This is currently the hidden gem of Columbus, MS. Up Down offers high quality coffee drinks that best any other coffee shop in the area. They have wraps, sandwiches, quesadillas, nachos, burgers, and even baked goods. However, nothing tops their service. Attempting to give the likes of Chick-fil-A a run for their money, the staff is kind, friendly, goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you need, and constantly smiles.
