Overall I have had (in the past) an OK experience with UPS. But yesterday's experience made the other times pale in comparison. On May 13, 2026 I had a package coming. So I was tracking in order to catch my package, because there are thieves in my building, plus Eastlake local building management has a put a new stupid rule of "NOT RECEIVING/OR NOTIFYING RESIDENTS OF PACKAGE BEING THERE!* Anyway while I am tracking I get a message saying that they ATTEMPED to deliver package! Delivery drivers are lazy. Don't even try a delivery. Mark off an attempt with no effort. There are no notifications electronically sent or physically left behind. I try and avoid UPS when possible. I had no choice here and paid the consequences again. read more

This a complaint about delivery from PA to SC. The UPS delivery person dropped the boxes off at my condo and I could not open my door because the boxes prevented the door from opening. Thank goodness there wasn't a fire because I am not sure how I would have gotten out of the condo. Needed to call someone who lives 20 minutes away to come and move the boxes. I paid $128 to get my box shipped internationally. employee asked me for a number in case customs needed to contact someone about the items. I asked if I could give them my number. They said yes. Turns out I later track my box and it has been sent back. I called UPS international and they say the package couldn't be delivered because they couldn't reach the receiver. Well, duh. How could you if there is no number. I never got a call. I have my call log. No one called me. UPS just shipped it back. $128 wasted. UPS did not want to give me a refund. Even though I specifically asked for that reason. My first time mailing a package and I will NEVER use UPS ever again. Domestically or internationally. FedEx all the way now. I'm so disappointed. I don't believe a company so big can be so awful. I don't even know why I am wasting my time with this review because the company absolutely does not care! UPS driver lied and put into the system that we weren't home, so the package could not be delivered. There was no note left on our door, of course, because he never came to our home. We have a security system on our farm that alerts us of anyone in the driveway, and both my husband and I were at home. My husband even worked from home today specifically so the package could be signed for, as it required a signature. The driver straight up lied. You cannot get a live agent on the phone. The computer system will hang up on you if you keep saying "agent," and even when we answered all of the questions (tracking number, zip code, etc) and then asked for an agent -- the recorded voice STILL said "we can't connect you with an agent." There is no way to get a real agent on the phone. As we speak, my husband is calling the company from which we bought the expensive piece of computer equipment in order to inform them that they should consider FedEx next time. read more

As is always the case, the AI assistant was extremely unhelpful. I have an issue with my package, and anytime I used something that must have been a key word, it would try to tell me how to track a package. That's not at all the issue. It wouldn't let me speak to an actual person, so I just hung up. As a massive corporation, they can afford to hire real customer service people. read more

Then, when I call customer service, they always say the local dispatch team will reach out to me by a certain time, and when that time comes around, I still have not received a call. They broke smashed and shattered my iMac computer my now deceased mother gave to me for work. it was shipped May 1 it's almost JULY and they won't fix the issue. This company is going downhill. I'm literally going to have a heart attack from the stress of dealing with UPS... and I'm a not just a receiver, I'm business customer who ships regularly. I sent a package via UPS Next Day Air. The next day, I got a notification that the person wasn't there to receive the package. I was required to verify the address and receiver, and choose to have the package left at a local pickup center if the receiver wasn't home when delivery was attempted. Tracking said that the package would be delivered the next day. The receiver waited all day for the package which never arrived. Then I get a notification that the package is at the local pickup depot, IN MY TOWN, not theirs! UPS apparently never even sent the package to the recipient. They sent it to my local pickup depot. I called 3x to get an issue resolved spending 1/2 hour or more each time. Each time I was told "an urgent message will be sent to the depot, to get the package delivery address updated". I had to ask for a supervisor each time, as every person I spoke with told me the package was being shipped to a different delivery location, one even my home address! Every person I spoke with was not in the USA. English was their second language, normally not an issue, but above that they were consistently incorrect in understanding my needs. read more

I have just spent over a half hour going through every combination I can think of to try to get help with voiding a shipment and there is not one applicable option and then the recorded message hangs up on you. Just ridiculous. If you ask for " representative" it keeps repeating you can't talk to one unless you tell them what the problem is. Tell them the problem and it doesn't work. Horrible. read more

The IVR system is absolutely horrible and needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Im sure it would cut down on the actual reps from having irate customers and also cut the call volume down. I have been unable to reach a person to fix the issue since the website has had a technical issue for over a week. I fought the IVR for 5 minutes as it has me repeat my long tracking number multiple times then says it didn't understand so I try to enter on my keypad but even then it doesn't understand. It also has hung up on me more than once so I had to call back and yet again repeat the tracking information. Its an endless cycle which is infuriating and ridiculous. read more

Second, I was able to chat with a live person who told me they cannot contact their drivers or warehouses to schedule any pickup or delivery and that there's nothing they can do. I have a package that is missing, went to UPS store I dropped it off at and they told me I had to call this number. Call the number and it will trap you into either giving it the tracking number, stating what it says online and then dropping you OR if you try to "ask for a person" OR "ask for help" OR "ask for answers", it will repeat steps to get a tracking number and then boot you out because it says it can't connect you with a Representative without a tracking number. So it's screwed if you do, screwed if you don't. After this interaction, I will make a 100% effort to not use UPS anymore except for a drop off point for my USPS packages. UPS has returned 3 different shipments 3 times saying address is not valid but Fed Ex, Estes, DHL and all the other carriers have delivered. There is a building and a driveway. My most recent poo-show will paint the scene just fine (in poo). The customer service robot is disrespectful garbage, and hangs up on you. It has the tendency to simply enrage you when you've got an issue that it most certainly cannot fathom, and yet it won't give you a person. It's like UPS is knowingly flipping you both fingers and telling you to spin. You cannot reach anyone that seemingly has any knowledge of UPS, or any ability to do anything. They could just cut this supposed customer service from their list of expenses and the operation would be the same. UPS simply does not train their customer service to identify or confirm an issue, or assure their customer's that the problem is going to be addressed, or how for that matter. From what I can tell it just won't be, but they will BS you to get you off the phone. I dropped a package that I sold online at my usual access point. Before the package even left my city, my buyer requests a refund, so I refund them, and call UPS to stop the shipment, which is now scanned at the origin center. I go ahead and call the dreadful customer service line and mark it 'Return to Sender,' and lay back. Surely this package won't even leave the city, right? Wrong. The package leaves my city 2 whole days later, and is now 5 hours away in the same state. I think to myself, 'oh, it must have been well on its way, that's fine. It'll be scanned at this location, and be back on it's way to me.' Nope! Then two days later it's halfway across the country, and I'm calling for the 4th time. Each time I can't understand the person, and I don't think they can understand me--because I am not feeling any better, but maybe worse--after talking to "UPS." This time they tell me they've marked the package for return a second time, as, 'a fraud package.' It will be back to me in 1-2 days. I assure you the package continued in the opposite direction, and I feel confident they're about to try to deliver this package to the original destination anyway. I hate UPS so very much after this, but it's not the first time. I've never had issues like this anywhere else, for any reason. I'm a reasonable chill dude. They have a clunky, bare-bones thing going here. I'd personally rather pay more if it meant a company that could actually manage their goings-on etc. read more

UNREAL! You have to jump through hoops talking to an automated machine for 18 minutes before finally reaching a real person! Then I ask her to hold for 30 seconds so I can look up my tracking number, and she says "We are not allowed to hold for customers." FUNNY, cause I had to hold and jump through hoops for twenty minutes to talk to you! Sp you can wait 30 seconds while I pull up my email with the tracking! She says "Sir, we aren't allowed to wait for customers to get the number." I go, "You are expected though to provide quality 5-star customer service at all times, and waiting for me to pull up this tracking number is good customer service." She then hung up on me. No one with any wits about them would use UPS. Here in Chico, the drivers will deliver your package to any old porch that is handy, then mark it as delivered. You will never see it because they don't bother to note what address your package was actually left at. I had a package sent to me and I didn't know she sent it UPS or I would have told her not to. On Tuesday, I had a UPS driver knock on my door and ask me for my package. Of course, I had none and wondered why I would randomly be asked for a package. He said it was okay, he would cancel the pick up. I got nervous and contacted the sender. Turned out she had sent it UPS and it had been delivered Friday.No, I told her, I didn't get it. But, there was a photo! There surely was, but IT WASN'T MY PORCH! She tried to open a claim as a sender, but UPS wouldn't let her, so I did. I don't have a working phone, but UPS wouldn't let me submit without one, so I put my friend's phone number. I said I preferred contact by email, so, of course, UPS (on a number that doesn't work if you try to call them) called my friend, but haven't contacted ME. I borrowed a phone and tried to call UPS, but the automated system refused to let me talk to a representative and hung up on me. I tried to email them, but they won't let me unless I have an account. When I tried to open an account, they said I already had one. When I asked them to send me any information (username, password), they didn't send me anything. If I could give ZERO STARS I would! Called UPS Customer Service today as they charged me for a late payment for an invoice from Dec. 21st that was due Dec. 30th. (7 days really as they send their invoices out on Saturdays.) Our company was closed during this week for the holidays, so I didn't get the invoice until Dec. 31st. and was paid on Jan. 2nd. When contacting the phone number on the invoice - 1-800-811-1648 for billing questions about the invoice, I encountered a 19 minute wait, so opted for a call-back. When I received the call-back, the person was from a shipping department and said he would connect me to the billing department. I told him the billing department is who I called. So then I get sent into the SAME AI bot loop again.... now the wait is 36 minutes. I then wait for a second call-back. The customer service rep is again, someone from a different department other than billing and they connect me to the same number and AI bot loop for the 3rd time! Now the wait is 44 minutes and doesn't give any call-back option. Why, when you call the BILLING phone number that THEY provide, do you get a call back from someone who isn't even in the BILLING Department!!! What a waste of time. UPS - You are the second worst customer service behind FEDEX! Your phone system is utterly ridiculous and your customer service is the worst! read more

Since there is no place to leave a NO STAR rating, I gave a one star. My gift to give my daughter supposedly arrived 11/25/2022. I was home that day and they item did not come. My dogs bark if anyone comes to the front porch so I would know if someone came. UPS said to file a claim so I did. They closed my case because they said they had confirmation the package arrived. It wasn't my confirmation. There is no proof from me, the receiver that it ever came. They just don't want to do the honorable thing. I called 6 times to the 1-800-742-5877 number. All I could get was a robot that could answer yes or no questions. She would not transfer me to a human. The 7th time a UPS chat line opened up. The agent had my information, was polite, and assured me someone would call or email me. No one contacted me. It seems to me that UPS doesn't care about reputation or customer satisfaction. They made no effort to resolve the claim, they said they had confirmation. I would like to know who confirmed the delivery? It wasn't me. This is the absolute worst company. My family member was left without a gift. I've never had problems like this with Amazon. Amazon gets it right. read more

Your reps at UPS made it possible for me to receive a much needed package of medication, even though the pharmaceutical sender did not send the package in the customary, UPS manner; because of the thoughtfulness of your reps, Lana, and Noel at the UPS Customer Center at 6766 English Muffin Way, Frederick, MD, my package was nonetheless kept safely in their possession, until I was able to arrange for it to be picked up (this, all happening during a holiday season, when I know they were probably too busy to deal with all this). UPS said they delivered a package to some mysterious locker. The package was supposed to be delivered to my house. There are no "lockers" in my neighborhood. I can't put into words just how horrible UPS is. Their customer service is the worst. Almost impossible to speak with an actual human and when you do finally speak to someone in India, they have no ability to do anything except read the same screen you see. A very expensive package of mine, according to their tracking has been stuck in place for over 2 weeks. I started a claim for a lost package and they closed the claim the next day with no update. After contacting them they basically directed me to call a number to reopen the claim. The number was a robot that would not connect me to a human and when I went through the menu options it would direct me back the the webpage (square 1) and hang up on me. read more
