I like to find these little shops where I can find a piece or two to mix up my wardrobe (otherwise, I look like I mass order my outfits from Gap). So, not everything in this little boutique is for everyone - I totally passed on the fur vest, skinny jeans, and lacy flouncy tunic look. The clothes are beautiful, and I was excited to shop there--but the customer experience didn't match the aesthetic. When I arrived, no one greeted me or offered assistance as I browsed with 10+ items draped over my arm. Eventually someone did help me to a fitting room (she was kind and professional), but by then I already felt overlooked. I didn't realize the store closed at 8, and was kindly informed with just minutes to spare. I hurried and was apologetic--but unfortunately, at checkout I was met with cold energy and passive-aggressive behavior that made me feel like I was a burden for being there so close to closing time. I still made a purchase--several pieces, actually--but the way it was handled felt rushed and ungracious. Jewelry was tossed into my bag, and when I asked for a proper jewelry bag, one was thrown in my shopping bag without a word, and I had to pack everything myself. A simple "thank you" or smile goes a long way. I hope this was just an off night, but I left feeling unwelcome and embarrassed for staying late, even though I was respectful and apologetic.
