Good selection. This is the perfect place to come to if you're looking for organic/natural fiber clothing. I found so many items that were 100% linen and 100% cotton. Like any thrift shop, there will be items that are extremely overpriced. Value is in your eyes! But I can say I found a Men's Nike Sweatsuit that was about $30. Super fair deal. Go if you're in the area, but just know the customer service can be a little snotty. Keep your receipt just in case something doesn't fit and keep the tags attached. PS- their return policy is 30 days with tags and receipt. If you don't have your receipt, ask if you can use your phone number. They should be able to put a credit on your account. read more

Worst customer service. Rude and arrogant sales rep. They the alarm on a pair of shoes I brought. I then notice that there was a lower price. The store clerk stated I don't know how that price got there, but it's not our price. I ask if I could get the lower price for having to come all the way back to have alarm removed. She stated have a good day.! I'm not a cheapskate so no need to shop at a cheap store! The shoe weren't all that anyway. Not selling but buying today as I checked out what they have available in inexpensive casual wear. The store is neatly organized and quite filled with clothing that is divided by cut and racked by size. I spotted some nice tshirts, a hoodie and a pair of jeans. Lots and lots to see. I have been coming here for years..selling/ buying and I have never had a bad experience here until today. I was completely speechless with the disrespect I encountered during my selling process here. I had my 8 month old in his stroller and I went in first to see if maybe someone can help bring the bin in from my car since it's kinda hard to push the stroller and carry a bin full of clothes. The security guard was playing on his phone right beside the entrance and instead of helping me in...he watched me open the door and try to push the stroller in all at once. WTF. I brushed it off and proceeded to go to the front and ask for help to carry the stuff from my car. Guess who they asked to help...the security guard whom replied with rolling his eyes and asking how far the car was (was parked literally right outside the store). As we walked to the car he made sure to literally walk a mile away from me, no interaction, nothing. Finally, my things sell so I try and come back in from walking outside, however, once again with the security guy right at the door watching me struggle as I open door and try and push baby inside....at this point I was like your not even going to open the door and he did not reply with anything. Once again I had to bring the stuff back to my car and as soon as the manager was about to ask the security guy to help I literally told her I want nothing from him he has been rude to me this entire time so please is there anyone else that can help take this bin to my car which she kindly offered her services...for all the moms or mom to be you understand a small amount of kindness goes a long way but how I was treated by the security guard the entire time that is uncalled for and honestly I will be sure to warn my friends who have kids/babies I would not do business with them. read more

So for the first time in a very long time, I was profiled because of my hair and skin color. I call the store to inform them of my arrival and what I have to sell, the man on the phone says come on in. Btw he didn't even answer the phone as the business, he answered and asked "what do you want?"(strike one) I drive 15 minutes from work to the store and attempt to check in as I've done for so many years here. A young white woman comes up and asks can she look at the merchandise as I'm checking in, which I thought was strange but of course I grant her permission. She then says they can't accept the items because I don't have a receipt. A policy never head of at ANY consignment shop. And I've been thrifting and selling to shops for over 12 years. She apologizes for wasting my time, to which I respond " this isn't just a waste of my time, it's a waste of my gas, driving all the way over here when I had already called to alert you and your team that I was on the way and the items I would have for sale". I left very angry but I chose not to act out as I'm a Middle school Educator by day. I go back to my car and call another Uptown location to check to see if the proof of purchase is a newer policy, because the explanation the young white woman provided sounded made up as she stumbled over her words during her reply. The other store informs me that the policy is usually only enforced on designer shoes because their system can't authenticate them. As I sit typing this review my blood is boiling. I'm a full time Middle school teacher with no criminal record, and this 20 something year old gets to profile me without any backlash. Keep in mind I'm driving over on my lunch break, so clearly I'm in school approved attire. Along with a lanyard that had my school colors on it. Needless to say, you might wanna have a receipt for any new clothes you want to sell if your skin is darker than Taylor Swifts. read more

The service from staff is simply remarkable. Makayla, Brooke and Astrid always deliver. These three ladies are polite, patient and professional. I will always recommend the university location. The selection of clothing, shoes and accessories kills all competition from other thrift stores. The value of items are quality for the amount priced in my opinion. read more

If you have read my reviews, you already know this is my kind of store! I very rarely shop retail. I can honestly say that tthe majority of my clothes come from thrift or consignment shops. This store is located in a shopping plaza in the University area. It's a corner store and easily visible from the street. There is a decent amount oof parking. The two times I visited on a Saturday I had no problem parking. The store is a decent size. It is organized by male items in the left front of thee store while the rest of the store is dedicated to female items. The clothes and shoes are organized by clothing types and sizes. For example, all jeans are together and categorized by size. The prices, a little high for my taste. It is consignment and not thrift, So that's to be expected. However, it was my lucky day when I stopped in. They were having a $1.00 Sale! Yes, they had new and used items for $1.00- now those are my kind of prices! Yes, I spent $40 bucks and got 40 items!! WINNING! I will stop in and browse this store the next time I am in the area. read more

This is the WORST resell store I have ever been to. If I could give 0 stars I would. Took in 4 bags of trendy, in season clothes and I was told it would be ready after 40 minutes. I get a text 5 minutes later saying they did not take any of my items. When I returned to get my items, they told me they could not take anything because they had too much inventory. They had not even gone through my stuff. Considering there were 4 FULL bags of clothes, there is no way my clothes were gone through in 5 minutes. Next time, you should either inform your customers that "inventory is too high," or just tell them you're lazy and don't want to do your job. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time here. read more

I went to sell some clothes after checking the store out 2 days ahead of time. My family also brought some clothes and they said it would be an hour wait, after the hour we went to see how much money we could get, out of all the clothes we brought they only took 3 items. I like coming to this one because it has more of a consignment shop vibe with their newer and upscale pieces than the Pineville location (I love the thrift feel of that one too!). I can usually find at least two must buys . The only thing I don't like is the employee attitudes sometimes .... Especially the guy who goes through your clothes . He needs customer service training . Also, they really don't take anything but when they do they offer you pennies on great stuff. But what do I know ? As always i loved my experience. It is the only consignment store i shop in. Alex and Daniel were very attentive to me which was much needed. I tend to try on baskets of clothes everytine. The prices are insane. I spent 650.00 today but i promise you with the designer labels could easily well over 5k . NO EXAGGERATION! I like this location. I just randomly stopped in to check them out since I have only shopped at the South Charlotte location in the past. They seem to bit a little larger than that location. Uptown Cheapskate is a cool place to thrift shop and sell clothes too. You never know what kind of gems you my find for a last minute outfit or something different for your closet. read more

There are some pretty good finds if you look hard enough here. Some of the staff is nice and some seem to hate their jobs. Straight faces and no smiles. That's no way to work in retail! I like how it's color coordinated, that really helps a gal out. They have a good selection of shoes here. Honestly, don't even bother trying to sell here. After being here for almost 2 FREAKING HOURS, I got $42 from selling a good bit of never worn items. One of the items being a Michael Kors bag. I hesitated to sign the agreement to accept the cash, but at this point I was so furious I just took it. I know you need to make a profit and that's how this process works, but $42 for everything that was picked out from my stash? Unbelievable. I can probably make more money selling my stuff on websites than coming here to sell.
