Went in to look for some summer clothing. They did have a decent amount of shorts and skirts available. However, when needing help no one and I mean no one could be bothered. There was two girls behind the counter. One ringing up a customer and another who I politely said excuse me to get her attention ignored me. Wasn't surprised when I walked around to try to get her attention again, was on her phone texting. I'm sorry that I interrupted her social time while she is on the sales floor at work. After finding what I wanted to try on I stood there waiting for the girl at the counter to assist me with the dressing room. Again ignored. So I found someone to help me. I purchased what I wanted and left. Definitely will not be returning. The saddest part is that not one of these girls looked happy. They all looked miserable and they did not want to be there. I love shopping and selling clothes at this location. The prices are fair and reasonable, I found and brand new pair of pacsun jeans for $17.99. They were on sale for an additional 40% so I paid $10. I take my teens here occasionally for clothes. We usually find amazing deals and love when they have sales. I feel like the vibe at the new location (which is just a few doors down from the old location) are off. The old store felt warm and happy, employees were cheerful and helpful. The people working the new shop could definitely could use some customer service training because half the time the kids working act like it's an inconvenience to even acknowledge the customers. They sell great items and feel most are priced appropriately. We'll continue to shop here and I definitely appreciate that masks aren't required. read more

Sought after another consignment-type shop to sell my clothing at similar to that of Crossroads Trading, Buffalo Exchange and Plato's Closet and came across Uptown Cheapskate on Yelp. Found this shop to be easy to locate and found that they purchase from a variety of sizes and sell very similarly with paying out cash or providing store credit. Dropped off my items, which were sadly summer clothing (they were buying for fall/winter) but was able to sell a few items as I walked around the shop looking at the items for sale. From shoes, clothing and accessories they have it all here. Everything is labeled clearly and are in good shape at decent, low prices - think Plato's. Not limited to trendy items, they contain styles of all kind. The staff was also really friendly and so informative being a new "customer/seller" here and will definitely be back to sell more seasonal appropriate clothing here :-) read more

I have seen this place many times and finally popped in to check it out! There aren't many resale shops on this side of town that are local so I was excited to be able to support them. I walked in the door with a bag of clothes and the older women took one up-down look at me and didn't say anything. Not even a hello! I felt immediately judged! Luckily a younger girl working compensated for her cold shoulder and helped me get set up. I work and have always worked in family owned business's so I KNOW how crucial customer service can drive business and REVIEWS. I give the same customer service behind the register as I do in front. I walked around while they looked through my stuff. They definitely had a lot to pick from, but nothing that was drawing my attention. You'll see a lot of target, forever21, old navy, American eagle brands. When they were done looking they called my name. The same older women who gave me the stare down, gave me back my clothes and in a very unenthusiastic voice told me she didn't see anything they needed. I am totally okay that they didn't take anything as I know it's always a hit or miss, but it is just the way she communicated that ruined it for me. Disappointing dropoff. They used to give a decent amount of cash for your clothing but I was just there today and dropped off 6 trash bags full of clothing. I was expecting at least $100 and they offered $22?! I didn't expect all the clothing be bought but at least some of it. Very disappointed. read more

Uptown has such a great selection of clothing! It's the best place to go when you want a new and unique style but on a budget. This is the place to go! It's so conveniently located and is packed from the entrance to the back full of clothes, shoes, and accessories! The bet part about this place is that you can sell your gently used clothes as well. They pay reasonably well for the clothes and will give you 15% more if you decide to do in store credit instead of cash. All in all, a great buying and selling experience! read more

Only bad thing i would say is that they read your messages on Instagram and don't respond, and sometimes if they do respond... they don't even answer questions correctly. But i want to share an amazing experience i had. I went on the grand opening day and purchased a Louis Vuitton wallet for $70. I was very skeptical. I shopped here his weekend and had great success with my finds!! All the clothes were in great shape: very minimal fading, wear, zero rips, etc. Almost all the clothes were "in style" and brand name. Prices were pretty reasonable, slightly on the higher side for consignment, but hopefully that means they are passing that increase in to those who sell to them. (I will re-review once I've sold to them). I paid about $11-14 for quality material tops/blouses, and $8-10 for T-shirt's. $20-30 for quality dresses. I was in a dire need to update my fashion but didn't want to spend a fortune. So, I went to "Uptown Cheapskate" to sell my clothes. When I walked in, nobody greeted me. I had to stand there for a minute with two bags of clothes waiting for someone to say something. I was tripping over three bags on the floor that another person must have brought in. Finally, I was helped. While I waited for my clothes to be sorted through I walked around the store. I found a cute skirt ($14.99) and a cute shirt ($3.99, it was 50% off). The employee helping me, I didn't catch his name, was friendly, but I had to ask for a dressing room after waiting for a few minutes. This just made me feel more neglected as a customer. When my clothes were done, the employee said that they didn't take anything. She did not even give me a reason as to why. When I asked, she looked at me dumbfounded. She said "I didn't sort through your clothes somebody else did". She looked over at her coworker for answers. The coworker said "all of your clothes were summer clothes and we aren't buying for summer clothes now". That's just ridiculous. Why would you waste my time then? They need to start advertising when they are buying certain items and when they are not. Also, when the employee was ringing me up for the skirt and shirt - she almost overcharged me! I had to clarify with her that the shirt was only $3.99. This wouldn't have been a big deal (mistakes happen) but with everything else that happened that was just the last straw...the only positive takeaway from this story is I got a cute outfit for cheap. P.S. if they do buy your clothes they do give you more money than Plato's Closet but Plato's has better customer service...pick your battles I guess. read more

I'm not sorry to say that I will never shop here again. My review isn't so much for the store as it is for its employees but ultimately, a business is a direct reflection of its employees. I had come to try to sell a few pair of jeans that I had, both Hollister and Levi and all of them had maybe been worn a handful of times. After walking around, I was called up to be told they were only going to take one pair of jeans-- the Levi's-- and that they would give me $3.75 for store credit. Mind you, these jeans were in excellent used condition. Now clearly I wasn't expecting to get a ton of money for them, but $3.75? After signing the paper they make you sign, I immediately felt regret, thinking I could probably sell them for more myself. I then asked if there was any way that she could reverse it, given that I felt that was hardly a deal. Immediately this girl gave me attitude and scoffed at my comment. With an annoyed tone, she went on to tell me she already processed it and she couldn't do anything. So of course I proceeded to push (nicely mind you) to see if there was absolutely anything she could do. Rudely, she sighed and told me she would have to call her manager to try to do something. I waited for a brief period as she called to have her manager come up. She then proceeded to rudely say, "You can take your jeans and we will just reverse the credit" and pushed my jeans and the rest of my bag towards me. Upset and angry, I went out to my car to put away my son's stroller and some other items. At this point, I only felt it appropriate to walk back into the store and let this girl know how rude I felt she was to me. Upon walking back into the store, her and another one of the girls who worked there, were talking about me and immediately stopped once they noticed I was there. I told the girl how rude I thought she was and that she treated me very poorly, as if I asked her to do some arduous task to refund me less than $4.00! The entire time she was combative with me and tried to justify her actions, which only made me more upset. Regardless if a customer is rude or unreasonable-- which I was neither-- the employee should never act the way that she did. Despite the fact that she reluctantly apologized, I lost my respect for the store. I know I'm only one person and by me personally choosing to not go to this store, it will not break the company, but I do feel like my experience is something to be shared. read more

Brought a bag of 40 items in to sell. Mixed seasons, some new with tags. Brands were Gap, Chico's, Calvin Klein, and various upscale items. I chose the items from my closet very carefully. I freshly laundered everything and neatly folded the items and placed in the bag. I'm always careful to put in a few things I'm 100 percent they will take because it's embarrassing to me when nothing is bought. I scoped out the store the day before to see what types of clothes they sell and it seemed exactly like what I had to sell so I was confident. I dropped off my bag and decided to have them text me when done. Nothing was bought. I was really looking forward to shopping at the store with a little bit of credit. No explanation was given and nobody said anything about only summer or only winter being taken. Honestly I feel like it's because I am a middle aged woman that wears oversized t-shirts and crocs and I feel like my appearance made a difference when selling. The people there all look pretty and preppy. I've decided I will go back and try 1 more time and hope for a different person to check my items. I'm moving and this place is close. Not for bigger girls! A friend from school recommended this to me, since I have been wanting more thrift stores to go to. She did not mention to tell me that I would not find anything for XL and up girls. I was pretty upset and laughing it off with my other friend since the XL and up selection is maybe 5 items for each category. The positive about this store, is that there is cute jewelry and I definitely enjoyed the sticker selection they had.
