The low ratings for this store are incredibly accurate. The sales associates actually close the store about an hour before the closing time posted online. They also do not post the hours on the door so people don't know they're going behind management's back and closing early. The white associates express microagressions towards people of color. I didn't feel comfortable shopping in there. Of all the folks in the store, all of which were white, I was the only one asked to leave the store "because we're closing up" In my limited time in there I noticed all the items were severely overpriced. It's clear this place likes to gentrify neighborhoods by buying up all cheap wearable clothes and reselling them to more affluent people as "hip clothing." I would stay away from this place unless you're an upper class white. It's not a place for the rest of us. read more

Let me start off by saying I don't like writing bad reviews but I felt I had to share this experience so it doesn't happen to anyone else. I shop at uptown because of the positive environment, clean look, and cute clothes but my experience today was completely the opposite and I don't know if I'll be coming back. I came in with the intention to sell and buy new workout clothes. However they only took one of my items, even though almost everything in my bag was bought from uptown. After donating the rest of the clothes, I wanted to try on some of the stuff I picked out, but all the dressing rooms had clothes on the floor and hooks and the rack was filled to the point where I couldn't put anything on it (this isn't the first time I've experienced this). When one opened up that was decently clean, I did try on a few pair of leggings however a lot of them had questionable stains. One pair had noticable white crusty stains on the inside of the crotch, another had similar stains on the outside of the right thigh. I luckily ended up finding a cute work out set I liked that but I ended paying for the top and bottoms separately even though they were on one hanger together. When I got home and further looked at the work out set, there were dark stains on the ankles and arms. Also, when I checked out, one of my items didn't have a tag on it and the cashier went to another computer to look it up and kept saying she couldn't find it in the system. So when I ended up saying I wasn't going to get it, she rolled her eyes and threw the shirt behind her. The cashier also had an attitude the whole time she helped me but didn't have one with my friend. I hope that these issues get taken care of and that I'm able to come back. read more

I went in to see the new store, I didn't know it was pre-owned items. The purses i looked were gross they were nasty dirty. Then the customer left the 2 employees tore her apart! Saying how her stuff was so 2000's. And just talking shit about her style. You do t do that about a customer WHEN a current possibly new customer was shopping. This place is a total scam. Save your time and go somewhere else to try and sell them your clothes and they will literally rip you off. Also they overprice their items keep in mind these are used secondhand items and they are pricing them as if they were practically new if you go in you will see exactly what I'm talking about you're way better off going to Goodwill or something. read more

This place is an absolute joke if you want to "sell'' them your clothes. Obviously it's a thrift store so you won't get nearly as much for them. First off the girls working there were so rude to me. Their tone of voice and facial expressions were rude. I've worked in customer service for 10 years and you need to be nice and polite to people. I'm a nice person and all I was trying to do was sell my clothes. I didn't need the attitude. I had 2 very large trash bags full of mostly tagged clothing, stuff I've never worn ever. But all they wanted was my 70 dollar Levi's and my 50 dollar lulu pajama set. What a joke . So I took my other bag and gave them to a nice family outside the store. That's what I should have done in the first place. Oh and jokes on them because I had another big bag full of Uggs never worn with the tags on them but I was not about to give them those. I gave them to that family instead. I do not recommend this place at all. I suggest you do something good and donate them to people in need who can't afford any clothes. This place sucks. read more

i always come here to get clothes off my hands and they do a really good job of helping me. the prices are very reasonable due to the fact my clothes are good brands but are also used! this is such a helpful way to get rid of clothes and make some extra money! there is a bit of a wait on Mondays so i wording recommend going in on a Monday. read more

Definitely don't sell your high-end items here - I was totally ripped off and waited a long time for them to process my items. Most of my items were brand new and I received very little cash for the 14 items they kept. Some of my items were from Lululemon/Kate Spade/Tommy Bahama etc. I should have just said no and took them back. read more

Do not bring clothes to sell here. Brought a large box of clothes and 5 pairs of shoes. Only had 5 items accepted which included two pairs of Dr. Martens, H&M boots ( all pairs in great condition ), and two articles of clothing for $35. I would recommend this as THE place to sell and get $$$ for your closet clean outs. Way better than buffalo exchange or Plato's. For the fact they will donate without any issues and I always walk out with cash. Highly recommend!! read more

This is a review from the selling side - and it is long overdue. I have tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt but it has just gotten worse overtime. I frequent all of the Buy Sell Trade stores in Orange County and this one is by far the worst! There is an employee with short blond hair and glasses that works most weekdays and its incredibly rude, condescending and unprofessional. I bring in an enormous Ikea bag with 40-50 items - she literally just rifles though the bag not even pulling out each piece, unfolds items and just throws them back in the bag. It takes her 5 mins. Other BST stores, will take out each item and inspect them and then respectfully fold your items and place them back in to your bag. For that amount of items, it generally takes 15-30 minutes- not 5! I literally left today after she took 2 things and went to Buffalo Exchange right down the rode where they took 14 items from that same bag! I have heard her get in to arguments with customers, angrily answers questions like everyone is just supposed to know what the process is, and make fun of peoples items. An older person was in front of me once and she literally just looked inside their bag and said "Im sorry - we won't take any of this" and just as the person walked away, she says to another employee " ugh, i have no patience for those customers" WHAT?! In reading other reviews - I see a theme with the lack of good customer service from the buying side. Whoever owns this location needs to do a major overhaul of their employees. * Interesting response from the owner and a nice tactic to actually manage bad reviews - There is ABSOLUTELY a buyer with short blonde hair and glasses - I believe she may even be a manager. Just look at your schedule for today, she's on there! I will be happy to get her name next time I go in if you would like. Also, Buffalo Exchange is about 4 miles away in Fullerton. So this is absolutely the store I am talking about and now that I know how the owner manages the business, I will be sure to make this review more public read more

I've come here to this location probably a dozen or more time and before tonight, I've only had positive experiences. I've come to their summer charity events and have always been a loyal customer. The staff during the day is always so friendly! Tonight, however, I came in with my boyfriend to sell clothes at 6:35 in the evening. We had called the store at 6:24 and I had spoken with a staff member asking her if they were still buying clothes. The girl said "yes." When we walked in, one of the staff members said "we're actually not buying clothes right now. We stop buying clothes at 6:30." Don't you think that's something you should mention on the phone when we called not even ten minutes earlier?! AND THEN, my boyfriend went up to the store owner and asked her what time they stop selling clothes. She looked super uncomfortable and said "Ugh 5:30." And we actually saw one of the employees going through a bin of someone's clothes, as if they just accepted someone else's items to buy. AND THE SIGN ON THEIR DOOR SAYS BUYING HOURS ON SATURDAY END AT 7:00!!! I've never felt so angry in a store, and it makes me so disappointed that it was a store I loved so much and had so many positive experiences at. You need to be consistent and honest about your buying hours. Get it together. read more

my friends and i went to this uptown cheapskates today and it was such a great experience. i usually go to the one in lake forest because it's closer but we were in yorba linda today. we got got some good finds for great values and the customer service was amazing as well. we were greeted when we walked in and had a great check out experience. shoutout to victoria evans because she was the sweetest ever and made me want to come back just to talk to her! overall 10/10 experience!! read more

If you are looking to sell your name brand items don't bother taking them here. I was offered $26 total for a $300 purse and $300 sunglasses in excellent condition and bought within the last two years. I declined selling them obviously and will plan to sell them online instead. read more

This place is literally a hidden gem. I always come here whenever I come visit California. As a Washingtonian, there aren't as much thrift stores with really great selections in the Northwest which is why whenever I visit the Placentia area, I make it a point to come to this place. A worker named Lia was great help! She had really great style and helped me pick out some items. I ended up buying majority of the items she suggested and it was well worth it. In a nutshell, this place is a 10/10 and I will always come back here whenever I am visiting. read more
