As a newcomer to Tulsa, I needed business casual clothing. Walking into Uptown Cheapskate, I almost turned around and walked out. At first glance, I only saw women and women's clothing. However, I saw one other man, so I went to his location. I am glad I did, because Uptown Cheapskate had an amazing selection of business casual shirts for men. They were all clean, in good to excellent condition, and reasonably priced. For under $60 dollars, I walked out with five polo shirts and one $10 dollar athletic undershirt. UC also had an unexpected variety of men's dress shoes, Doc Martin boots, and Vans shoes. Frequently thrift store shoes are beaten up, scuffed, and missing 1/3 of the sole from use. The UC men's shoes were all in very good to exceptional condition. The ladies working there were nice even when it became busy. read more

I just stopped in b/c it was next door to TJ Maxx. I was in a hurry so I didn't get the full experience BUT I will certainly be back. Greeted as soon as I entered (and they were pretty busy). I just skirted through the sweater selections. I saw lots of really quality stuff and everything I looked at was under $20 (most were around $11-12). I will certainly be back!!!! I may even try taking some of my overflowing closet in to sell. read more

I always have luck selling clothes, and I can get in and out of there even on busy days pretty quickly. They are very efficient. I always find good prices on clothes to buy while I'm in there too. You definitely get better store credit than cash for selling, and I like to do a mix of both! read more

Uptown Cheapskate is a great place to find brand name clothing. I take items to resell there several times a year. Today I arrived shortly before they opened and there was a line of 10 people. It was $1 clearance on some items. I was the first in line to sell so I was in and out in 30 minutes. Highly recommend arriving when they open if you're selling! read more

Let's hope Yelp keeps this one up..... Went today with my baby to do a drop off sale. The employees were super nice but they gave me two options: 1. Stay there with my baby in the shopping center for an hour and a half with two people ahead of me. 2. Or leave my stuff there and they will get back to me in 24 or 48 hours BUT everything will be automatically donated that they don't take. Also can't refuse their offer-- there's no option to deny. So you don't even get the clothes back that they don't take and if you are given an unfair price that they offer, no option of turning down. Obviously both those options are absolutely horrible especially the last one. I can see the first option not being a big deal for people without small babies. Gone are the days of me taking the clothes that they didn't except and letting my sister have them. Neither of those two options work for me. As a mother of a tiny baby, it is super unreasonable to expect me to keep her in the car seat for that long and with Covid I'm not going to have her out going to multiple shopping centers. Again the girl I talked to was super sweet but no exceptions can be made to the policy and they don't fit the lifestyle of a new mom whatsoever. This secondhand shop is cute, the employees are super friendly and helpful, but I do not think I will be returning to sell. I brought in a laundry basket of items, and they accepted 8. Among those 8 items were a new without tags Lululemon tennis dress ($130!) and a pair of trendy shoes. The amount that all those items would add up to would be well over $200. They offered me $27 and I took it just because I needed to get that stuff off my hands. I ended up donating what they couldn't take, which was confusing because the items they didn't accept were a North Face jacket and American Eagle mom jeans... mom jeans are huge right now, and I wore them once. The jacket was not in bad condition, either. I would go here for a couple trendy items, but I will not be selling to them again. I have much better luck on Facebook marketplace! read more

Get all the facts before you take your stuff there to sell. Me and my mom had several containers of nice clothes and they didn't buy any of them. They said they were to mature or didn't have tags. I called them several times to ask questions. I even asked if it was ok if the tag was cut out and they said to bring the stuff. If you don't have young, in style clothes don't bother. read more

I frequently sell to Uptown in Edmond and just moved to Tulsa. I decided to give this location a try, wrong. Their policy of staying in store for over 30 minutes to wait as they go through your stuff and laying all your stuff out flat yourself is an absolute joke. Not worth the waste of time or hassle. A great way for other people to take your stuff as their staff does not pay attention or stay with your untagged stuff. What a joke. read more

Before coming in to sell my clothing I both checked the website to see buying hours and called the store. The store confirmed that they were buying until 7pm (I called at 5pm) and to head in. I arrived at 5:30 and was told by the employee buying clothing that they're no longer purchasing for today but to leave my clothing and they would get to it in the morning. "I thought purchasing ended at 7?" "Oh yes, we shut down at 7 but I have enough to do before then! Just leave them and we'll get to them in the morning!" Sorry, but I don't feel comfortable leaving NWT clothing, shoes, and bags totaling hundreds of dollars at your store overnight and all day. Who knows if I'd even be served the next day as shutting down early seems to be no big deal to employees. Maybe change the hours on your site and inform customers who call in the next time you want to skip out on an hour and a half of your shift. Stricter management, more staff, or even a shred of customer service would improve my rating but sadly all I can say about Uptown Cheapskate is that they are a huge waste of time, money, and an overall disappointment. I thought they may be promising when I visited the store portion last weekend and saw that it is the only consignment store I've visited without an overwhelming amount of Walmart/Target clothing but I should've known better after sorting through unorganized clothing riddled with rips and stains. As I said previously, it seems the best thing to do is avoid Uptown Cheapskate and in turn, avoid a bad experience and sorry store. read more

Would definitely recommend! I've come many times for many clothing items and almost never leave disappointed! I would say the best sections are the women's pants, tops, and shoes; however, don't come here for dresses, the selection is usually limited and contains a lot of weird styles I've never seen a college-aged girl wear. Up until today I really liked this place. The new buying process is absolutely atrocious. You can't bring in and drop off clothes anymore. You have to lay your own clothes out (yeah the ones you spent time packing up to bring) and have two options - you can wait in the store for an hour+, or pick them up in 1-2 days. You have to lay all your stuff out in the front of the store right where people are walking in. It just feels really "off" and is an overall unpleasant process. The employees have nothing to do with this, they are all very sweet and we're understanding with questions and concerns with the process. Hopefully the process changes to something better, I can't see myself wasting hours every time I want to sell some clothes, which I do pretty often. Daisy Exchange gets you in and out in about 20 minutes and you can drop off at Plato's. Why make it more complicated than the competition? read more

I went in yesterday with a bag of 5 things. There were about 4 bags of stuff before mine and they told me the wait would be an hour and a half and that they would call me when it was done. 2 and a half hours later I came in because nobody had called me and I wanted my stuff back. They proceeded to tell me that a brand new Michael Kors purse form last year ( never used) was worth $16... place is a complete rip off.
