EDIT-- MY NEGATIVE REVIEW (BELOW) WAS DELETED FROM GOOGLE. I am attaching a picture showing that I did leave a review on google, yet it is not there or visible. Wow! Let's hope Yelp keeps this one up..... Went today with my baby to do a drop off sale. The employees were super nice but they gave me two options: 1. Stay there with my baby in the shopping center for an hour and a half with two people ahead of me. 2. Or leave my stuff there and they will get back to me in 24 or 48 hours BUT everything will be automatically donated that they don't take. Also can't refuse their offer-- there's no option to deny. So you don't even get the clothes back that they don't take and if you are given an unfair price that they offer, no option of turning down. Obviously both those options are absolutely horrible especially the last one. I can see the first option not being a big deal for people without small babies. Gone are the days of me taking the clothes that they didn't except and letting my sister have them. Neither of those two options work for me. As a mother of a tiny baby, it is super unreasonable to expect me to keep her in the car seat for that long and with Covid I'm not going to have her out going to multiple shopping centers. Again the girl I talked to was super sweet but no exceptions can be made to the policy and they don't fit the lifestyle of a new mom whatsoever. Very inconvenient and there's no way I will come back because of this.

I just wasted 4.5 HOURS of my life at the Tulsa fill-a-bag sale. I waited in a long line to try a ton of stuff on. I found 2 pairs of jeans in their clearance bins that were part of sale. I found some stuff for my husband too. Then, I waited in an even longer line to check out. I was about half way through the checkout line when one of the employees kindly came and got my bag so I would have to hold it. Then, she returns and tells me the jeans I picked out didn't have any tags on them. So, they couldn't sell them to me. They didn't have time to check their system to see what the price was. Their concern was that people were taking tags off the regular priced stuff so they could say they were part of the sale. I'm an honest person. I didn't do that! They said they could hold them for me and look up the price tomorrow, but it would be full price. I'm not paying full price for a clearance item! They said they don't track clearance items in their system. The employee that took my bag cut the tags off the items I picked out for my husband. She couldn't remember all the prices of the stuff. It didn't total $15 for their fill-a-bag sale. She asked if I wanted to buy that stuff for $15. No! I'm not going to pay more than it's priced! She said I couldn't buy the items at the prices they were marked because they are only part of the sale. Really?! You're going to turn away a sale?! There were only 2 people checking out during a large sale. They had to look for everyone's bag amongst a sea of bags. While it was nice they didn't make you hold onto it, it slowed down the checkout process significantly. They have some flawed business practices, which need to be fixed immediately! They don't empower their employees to make things right for the customer. All they could say was, "Sorry." Sorry doesn't get my time back. Since I was already half way through the checkout line I decided to buy the regular priced item I had in my hands. I liked the pants and didn't want to walk out of the store without anything. Their Facebook page says that the entire store is 15% off. When I was checking out, the price came up higher than it should have. I asked about the 15% off and was told it was only if you were buying a bag. That's not what was advertised! They got me in the store for the first time with the sale, but I WON'T be back! That's a shame because I need clothes and their prices are good. I can find good prices elsewhere. read more

I was surprised by how much furniture they have but it makes sense since it's such a huge space. This is where Tuesday Morning used to be. I found great suit jackets, they have a great selection of professional attire. There's a jewelry case by the cash register with lots of vintage necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets. Every week, they have customer appreciation day on Wednesdays and all clothing is 50% off. On Saturdays, they have 25% off on furniture. When you shop at the Salvation Army thrift stores -- you're helping fund the organization's Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC). It's great to shop for a good cause!

What seemed to start as a good choice in moving our family member's household items in order to…read morehelp with facility care costs quickly degraded. When our items were picked up we saw the furniture handled with great care. I did have a concern because reading the itemized receipt of items taken revealed that not all our items were listed. I immediately called to clear this up and was assured that when the truck arrived back a full inventory would be made as it was unloaded. This was in September 2023. Thru a series of emails requesting info on the sale of our items, I was informed of delays due to numerous reasons: illness, a "rushed medical" auction, a family death. All these were relayed as reasons why our things were not fully processed. I did follow Southside's Facebook page and did see the majority of our items pictured in the auction offerings for a few weeks after our things were taken. I went to pick up a check in October I think, but saw a lamp of ours still on the display floor and was told that some items were not sold yet but auctions would continue until all our items cleared. I did continue to send emails asking about 6-7 specific items remaining. I was asked for my phone number so either David or Dan could call me. I sent my phone number, but never received a call. Finally, in December I learned we had our last check ready and went to pick it up. As it was being handed to me I asked about the few items still unaccounted for. BIG MISTAKE! What followed were loud, with expletives, accusations about me. Apparently I was obnoxious with queries about our goods, a troublemaker and a bully. I am a 5 ft tall woman and this barrage towards me came from a man nearly the size of a mountain. I was shocked to say the very least. I was yelled at for thinking they can keep an account of every item that they auction. I was told one specific item I asked about "sold for $10 and was worth nothing and meant nothing". I replied that when the family member is trying to pay for nursing home care every dollar helps. I was told many of our items were gathered and sold in a "lot" of items and told I was ridiculous to expect they could account for every item "sold in a lot". (When our items were picked up it was mentioned that some framed art would likely be sold "in a lot"...but never did he say we would not receive the money from those items.) As the yelling from the mountain man continued he finally swore at me and said he was done with me and called over the "owner" to "handle" me. This man came asking about the ruckus and I was introduced as "the biggest troublemaker". I still said my own name and thanked him for coming over and calmly said we were just trying to pick up our current check and find out when the rest of our things might be completed. I mentioned the lamp I had seen still on the floor when getting our first check, to which the mountain man again exploding about "how many lamps they auction and what made me think that was mine?!" Then, I mentioned a very distinctive antique desk which mountain man denied but the second man said , "oh is that yours?" Yes. He said someone tried to lowball them on it but he refused to sell it so low. I said, every dollar helps our family member and was told it would be sold soon. I left with the check picked up that day. I've never heard back from Southside again about the desk or any other items. My advice if you use Southside to sell your items is to not get caught up in the flurry of activity where he walks thru choosing what he will take to auction, without making your own list of ALL your items. And, do take pics of all your items. I sent the list of missing items, I sent pictures. My BEST advice however is to choose a different company. I've heard for decades about the great bargains for buyers attending their auctions. But, from our vantage point they dropped a huge ball on their follow-through on the consignors end of the auction experience.

Everyone working there has always been honest, knowledgeable and respectful, and at times the auctioneer has been downright hilarious. Attending auctions is not for everyone. So I have never been in this store before but it looked cute from the outside and I always drive by and wonder what kind of clothing they sell. Well today I decided to go in and look around and I found the cutest jacket and it's one I've been looking for and it was about 30 dollars cheaper than it is anywhere else and in such a cute color! I then found two very comfy and light weight men's t shirts, and one pair of silky shorts, which are a very convenient find right now because my fiancé just had spinal surgery and was in need of some new shirts and shorts that would fit him loosely and still be comfortable with his back brace on. I go to Uptown Cheapskate any time I have clothes to sell. The staff has always been very friendly and attentive. I shop around while they go through my clothes (usually takes around 20-30 min) and have always been happy with how much money they offer me for my things.
