I had my nails done here on Friday. I walked in at 4:17, left at 6:11. The only things I did not…read moreappreciate was the long wait, there were only 2 nail techs working on nails, one guy was doing a pedicure. When the one girl started my nails, she then got up and left to go do someone else's without even explaining to the other girl what she did/didn't do yet. I also didn't appreciate the high price for the worst design. I literally paid $10 for a small heart sticker. When I was asked if I wanted a design, I thought it would've been a real design as I saw another customer receive. Unfortunately it was a tiny heart placed on one finger per hand, for $10. The cost and experience don't match. I was really hoping to love this place. The gentleman that was there doing someone's pedicure made the woman leave the shop yelling and highly upset and said out loud to the women working there that the guy did a a horrible job and the woman said to me and the other two women there (getting their nails done) not to let him do our pedicure. I have added nail pictures and pictures of my eyebrows showing the hair that was left behind. Also, there is no air conditioning or fan. I appreciated the small bottle of water that was given to me and I actually greatly appreciated it. I was sweating profusely.

Im so glad I went here. I got a full set of acrylics and a pedicure and let me tell you finding a…read moreclean and attentive place that's not over priced is hard to come by these days. I'm very happy with my nails. They have a great variety of colors and cute stickers and gems. Went by fast but I still felt very taking care of and not rushed. Very comfortable environment as well.

The staff was incredibly friendly and took their time to make sure I was comfortable and happy with what I wanted. My nails came out beautifully done -- neat, precise, and exactly how I asked. You can really tell they care about quality and attention to detail. The vibe was relaxing, not rushed at all, which made the whole experience even better. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends. If you're looking for great service, quality work, and a chill atmosphere, this is the spot

Would have given 0 if possible, had it not been for the negative experience being saved by nailtech…read moreKevin yesterday. The first technician that my spouse was paired with was awful and he was reusing the disposable files that they're suppose to throw out after every client. His station was sticky, dirty and he wasnt listening when my wife very clearly told him what she did and did not want. She was super clear when she walked in and registered for the appointment that she just wanted a fill and new color, but to keep the length. She reiterated to the technician not to cut, just fill and new color with a simple design that she pulled out her phone to show him the shape which could be filed and the color and design. He was too rough and began cutting when she specifically told him not to. She stopped him and corrected him, and he lied and said she wanted them cut. She did not and she had stated that TWICE before they began. He was too rough while drilling down too hard and thinned the nail out too much and she was trying to tell him that but he SHUSHED her with his finger to his mouth like she was a child, pointing to his ear & he said he was ON AN APPOINTMENT PHONE CALL and she was disrupting him (WHILE HE IS SUPPOSE TO BE DOING HER NAILS-- COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND IT'S HIS FAULT HE MESSED UP BECAUSE HE WASNT PAYING ATTENTION TO HER, HE WAS FOCUSED ON A PERSONAL CALL IN HIS EAR INSTEAD OF THE PAYING CUSTOMER IN FRONT OF HIM. So, then when he applied the gel it BURNED and she had never experienced that with the previous technicians that she had gotten her nails done by at this same location this year. She told him it burned and he tried to tell her "That's Normal"-- NO IT'S NOT! She's gotten her nails done for years and has only had this problem when she has had an unlicensed technician who doesnt give AF. He also was about to cut her with his dirty ass drill because he was going too hard around the edges and his work was uneven and sloppy. She pulled her hand away, got up and distanced herself from him because he was just unprofessional and rude, and did not care that he was hurting her. She asked the manager if there's someone with way more experience who does really good nails who can help her since she now has naked nails. He did thankfully put her with Kevin i believe who was so much better. His station was very clean and he had a gold metal file that he sterilized before use. He also had a professional apron unlike most others so I could tell he takes his craft more seriously. He fixed the issue and finished her nails much to her satisfaction except one nail is shorter than the other (I think one of the thumbs) because that other tech cut it against her wishes. We were not offered any discount or anything, and we wont be back again because this is just not consistent quality work here nor sanitary. Manager didnt even say they were sorry, just nodded their head and said they'd talk to the guy after he was done with his next customer. I doubt they give a s***, but even if they had offered a discount or gift card, I would not come back after this last experience. We only started coming to this location because the other nail salon we use to always go to in Arlington has been very busy and not as big with only a couple of technicians so we have to make an appointment and sometimes wait still for a bit-- but honestly, they're way better and worth waiting a bit compared to Modern Nails. Go to First Lady nails in Arlington Poughkeepsie area if you want to be treated like an important customer and the owner will remember you if you become a repeat client, she is usually quite nice and personable, and professional IMO. However, at this point, I'm just going to find an independent tech with their own space or who is mobile who can come by my office to do my wife's nails. I'd rather pay someone who is licensed and who will be 100% dedicated to delivering high quality nails and a safe, sanitary experience than keep bouncing chop shop to chop shop risking my wife's health and causing her frustration during something that is suppose to be a relaxing, luxury experience. I do not recommend Modern Nail Bar in PK-- it looks nice from the outside but cleanliness levels vary per tech. If you do go here, check the station and tools before you let them touch you. Make sure they're using sanitized professional METAL tools-- if they're using the single-use files, they are not able to be sterilized and are only meant to be thrown away after each customer! It's basic hygiene and professional standard. They do not have their license posted visibly so I doubt they're licensed. I wish I had seen more of the recent reviews before we had gone there again. We went 4 times since October 2025 and this was the last time. Looks like several other people have had similarly bad experiences with the techs sharing tools and not sanitizing them & not listening.
