Came before a Seattle Storm game. Sliders didn't have consistent amount of food on them and could have used more flavor. Wife had Chips, Salsa and Guacamole. Guacamole tasted store bought, Salsa was liquidy and they gave us the bottom of the chips as they were all broken up. Service could have been more attentive so that we could ask to get new chips (which we finally did) and might have had a second drink if they had asked. Overall unimpressed. Great spot for fantasy football players. They play the sound of the game on game days!!! A true sports bar. Had several games playing all at once on big TVs. Not a bad view in the house. My girlfriend and I were in Seattle only for a day before going on a cruise. We stopped by the Uptown Hophouse to have a quick drink before heading back to our hotel. I am so glad we found this place. The craft beer selection is amazing. We weren't hungry, but after getting caught up in watching a soccer match that was on one of the TVs we decided to order an appetizer. We ordered the Crab & Artichoke Dip. I am so glad we did. It was phenomenal. The warm baguette was tasty and the actual dip was beyond belief. Probably one of the best crab dips I have ever had. It's my go-to place when I need a pick me up, whether it's a cocktail, some baked nachos (important) or great conversation with my favorite bartender, Sail. Atmosphere: It's a great place to watch sports with perfect vantage points from all angles. There's a bar with high tops and an open dining room with banquette seating and tables. The vibe is hard to describe as it's a sports bar, yet you'll have a wonderful time even if you don't care what's on TV. There are board games, a private dining area, and bathrooms with Archipelago reed diffusers for God's sake. It's clean and inviting. Trivia nights as well as Bachelor Mondays! Food & drink: Hop House has a wide selection of rotating beers and also offers artisanal craft cocktails. The menu has seasonal items on rotation, non-fried food options like a Mezze platter and an array of cuisines (pulled pork sandwich, tacos, Thai wings). The nachos are my fave because they're baked and this is v important bc it's all about the cheese dispersion, people! No chip is left un-smothered. Also try the house-made spicy nuts! Service: From the first time I stepped foot in Hop House last year, I knew this would be my go-to place because the people that work there are truly something special. The entire staff is lovely but I do play favorites with Sail. He is one of the funniest people I've ever met and has this quality about him that just makes you want to invite him to Thanksgiving. Every friend I've brought to Hop House, I bring when Sail's working. I'm like ya gotta meet this guy he's just the best! Even if you aren't a regular, he treats you like you're one. He's welcoming, attentive, hilarious, and does a kick-ass job all with an infectious smile. The Seattle freeze doesn't exist at Hop House. See for yourself. Don't let this review affect your decision on going here, but just know that it has the potential to be really disappointing. We have been here a couple of times, but we had the best experience a couple of weeks ago. We came in for a beer or two and ended up staying all day because everything was so great. The beer selection is awesome - particularly if you're into IPAs. We aren't, actually, but we still had a good variety to choose from and really enjoyed everything we tried. The chili is *amazing* (please try some; I couldn't believe how good it was!). Service at the bar was excellent, and there are tons of tvs for sports fans. This place has 24 beers on tap with a cool ass bartender Mike. It's totally a local hub and most everyone in there was a regular. It Uber clean and modern. If you want a cocktail or beer after a Kracken game or Seattle Center event, skip this place. 5 of us stopped in, dropped a Benjamin + on drinks and pretzels but couldn't hear a thing due to the obnoxious drunk 21 years olds behind us, yelling to the point we couldn't hear anything else. A person inI our party tried to talk to them and they said they didn't get out much (obvi). I asked the bartender if he could say some thing so they would tone it down and he stated it was a public place and couldn't do anything. Since when is a restaurant a public place where you can act like an a*^hole and talk and yell at at the top of your lungs. I guess that means if they decide to take a piss in front of patrons, they won't do anything because it's a public place. The drinks were meh and the experience was not worth the $$. This group was clearly drunk as hell. Isn't there a law against serving inebriated patrons additional alcoholic drinks? I've been to the Hophouse twice in 2021. Excellent local tap selections and the nachos were enough for 2 people and delicious. Plenty of tv's with all the games on. The Good: My girlfriend and I arrived at 5:05 to get food/drinks and watch Hawks-Vikings preseason game before seeing Smashing Pumpkins up the street. Place was full the game had just started but we scored an empty table against the wall in the back. Food and drink menus on the table looked very appealing. Atmosphere was small but very loud, occupant max 91 per sign above the restroom hallway. Minimal decor excluding the large flat screens on every wall. The Bad: We sat at the table in the back for 25 minutes watching a couple of the staff (1&2) wander through the table section multiple times without making contact. Then after seeing Staff #1 clear a table center room next to the bar a minute after the people left we relocate to open and even more visible spot. 10 minutes pass and Staff #2 comes by. We order, beer for me wine for her, potatoes/fries, chicken wings to start and a couple curry bowls. We wait for our food, 10 minutes after ordering a table next to us that had left refilled with new people so out of curiosity I Hit the stopwatch on my phone to see how their service goes. The Ugly: After I start the stopwatch #2 brings the beer and wine spilling a soup spoon worth of beer on the table. Doesn't return to wipe it off or anything as a matter of fact it's the last time we have any interaction with them. 15 minutes later & 25 minutes after ordering staff #1 come to our table and let's us know they were out of fries and chicken wings. It's a Friday, concert up the street and Hawks game and they're out of these 2 items by 6pm. They did still have the curry bowls so #1 offered a free round of drinks for the mixup and we stayed. 40 minutes after ordering the table next to us (there are only four tables in the center of the place) gets food and I ask them about how long ago did they order. They estimated about 45 minutes. 55 minutes after ordering I approach #1 at the bar to get the status on our curry bowls. He checks, asked who our initially took our order and informed us the curry bowls weren't in the system. I let him know who #2 was (rolls eyes upon hearing) and that we had 20 minutes before our show started, showed them the stopwatch and gave them a rundown of our visit to their establishment. I reminded them that they offered to buy a round of drinks so we were going to just skip the bill on the round that was served and left. Conclusion: We walked up the street got metal detected, unhealthy arena food and drinks and were able to eat before the opening act took the stage. It's been a long time since I worked food and beverage but I'm sympathetic to a place being under staffed or people being new but this didn't appear to be the case that night. I never been in a place where I was essentially ignored or forgotten. read more

With delicious food, a friendly staff that makes great drinks, and plenty of neighborhood dogs brought alongside their owners, this is the perfect place to pass the time and make new friends. I have made wonderful connections here and when it comes to their food options, I specifically would recommend the nachos with bbq pulled pork if you've arrived with an appetite. The beer selection is fabulous and always rotating at the perfect rate. Really great craft beer selection. I'm an IPA guy and they are definitely IPA heavy, but 24 taps, so many other styles too. Two good ciders on tap as well. Food was very good, have had the deconstructed nachos, short rib tacos, and the charcuterie plate so far, all really good! I think I counted 9 tv's, all on sports.
