Website is up to date and I was debating between the Brooklyn Bike or a Momentum Vida bike. I bought an orange beach cruiser Brooklyn Bike last year and have loved it! I found the Vida step thru more comfortable for me with a nice padded seat and somewhat upright handles. Reviews online indicated that it's a great bike to ask from your boyfriend, if things don't work out, you'll still have the best ride! They installed a kick stand for me and gifted me a bell. I had a great ride this morning so smooth and comfortable. Prices are moderate to high, chill place with a resident dog. Staff helpful and knowledgeable. Love to support local biz. I've reviewed them once on google, so wanted to come here to give another 5 stars! Walked my bike over to see if they could fix a flat I sustained on my ride over to the gym! Sure enough I was greeted right away by lady in the front. Told her my issues and a man named Wes came right over and said "yeah I can do it!" with great enthusiasm and a smile. He did it so quick! Rude as hell. After buying two bikes from these guys in the past year I got some serious attitude from a pretentious bald manager. I came in the other day asking about tannus armor tire inserts, of which UBG is an authorized dealer and installer. The cashier girl (nice person) didn't know what I was talking about and summoned a manager from the back. My man was clearly in a bad mood or had too much on his plate that day because he plainly turned his nose up at the idea of installing my tire inserts for me. When I confronted him about the shops dealer/installer status he claimed they'd only done it once and it was a huge pain in the butt, and the shop would have to charge me a minimum of $100 for labor. This rate would've been agreeable initially as I lack(ed) the proper tools for the job. However when confronted with the managers attitude and condescending tone, I decided to do the install myself. I'd rather save myself the money and deny this place the income than deal with that energy. The job required that I buy smaller tubes, so I asked him to at least grab them for me. He was under the incorrect assumption that the armor inserts required a proprietary brand specific bike tube which was not the case, leading me to believe he'd never dealt with these inserts and would rather wisk me out the door than help out a fellow cyclist. He had his cashier fetch my smaller tubes. I clearly overheard him instructing her to grab schrader valve when I would've preferred presta. Bald manager Dude, you're bad for your industry. read more

It would be impossible to over praise Urban Bicycle Gallery! I depend on my bike for transportation and health (30 lbs lost in 2020) and am trying to avoid the bus for Covid and fossil fuel reasons. I'm almost 70 and never felt better.! I really NEED My bike! It got a flat. I mentioned it to a neighbor, who kindly said he would fix it. No problem. When I went to pick it up, it was dis-assembled-- even the pedals and seat were off, the break assembly in a plastic bag, and on and on. Being a sane and responsible, I immediately burst into tears and asked him to put it back together. Long story short, I needed a bike shop, and asked Facebook and Google, which brought UBG to contact me. Yes! Eric, of UBG messaged me quickly. It took a lot of patience to ascertain what I needed, but he did and leapt into action. This old roller was impressed! Eric runs an amazing shop. I've bought three bikes here in the last year and will probably buy more before the year is out. They only place I shop, because the pristine store, the top of the line bikes, and the expert and helpful people. They always go above and beyond but the latest feat was when I arrived at 5 after 5:00pm on Saturday not realizing they closed at 5pm. I really do think that the bike was a little over priced (website lists the bike at $515 and they were selling it for over $700) but I went with it because it was professionally assembled, rode nicely and was pretty much what I was looking for. read more

I brought my Specialized S-Works bike into their shop to get a front derailleur adjustment. They also lubed my chain and told me my bike needed a tune up and a cable change they quoted me $140 which included removal of all of the hardware in a parts washer and a complete bike wash. They then charged me $21 for about five minutes of adjustment work said the chain looked ok on wear and made the appointment. I dropped my bike off two days early and they called me the day of my appointment when my bile was up on the rack and said that the total cost quoted did not include the labor, they said the chain need replacement and the cable housing was not included with the cables and they also needed to replace the handlebar tape (understandable)... but for everything $275. I told them to take it off the rack and I would simply pick it up, they told me that they had already started on it so I let them finish the tune up and cable changes (not the cable housings). Just picked up my bike and they did a decent job cleaning the rotating parts but the bike was still dirty in places. Summary, They were initially not very clear about the charges and the required work. Update; The owner Eric called me back later that day after posting my review, was very cool, apologized and said they should not have charged me $21 for the initial adjustments seeing as they were going to be doing a full tuneup. His workers had simply not followed protocol correctly and he made it right. He also refunded me for the tuneup (which he really didn't need to). He also said he would be speaking with his staff about making it clearer for the work needed with the customers This guy was nice and embodies what great service should be. I was so impressed with him we spoke about getting more work done to my cassette and other parts. I will be going back and this is now my bike shop! read more

Looking for a more detailed analysis of my bike after getting hit by a car, they took thorough care, each member was attentive and asked if I was okay and took the time to listen to my concerns.
