Both shakes looked impressive with tons of cream , garnished with tasties..however all the syrup had ran down mine and had just a one dimensional taste to it ....I didn't feel it was worth a sticky mitt. For starters fiery hot wings, pulled pork spring rolls and Shrimp were ordered.. My wings were meaty but just tasted like someone had literally poured a generic hot sauce over them..the spring rolls,,, I did try some and could not help but think the cheese burger spring rolls in Solita were much nicer. ..The shrimp was tasty but there was not a lot of it to justify the cost. Starters and drinks gone I opted for a Death Row cocktail at an average priced £7.50.. This had a cool presentation again with a syringe full of red stuff that you injected into the drink...This tasted like weak lemonade with cherry laced through. I felt stuck what to order for my main, Everyone else opted for Chicken waffle stack with maple syrup and peanut butter?? Mac and cheese burger and a Yard burger full of various meats as well as a pattie, full of onion rings..I decided on the buttermilk chicken... Once again presentation was good however my burger got soggy quickly and I found it uninspiring. Everyone else appeared to enjoy their food...the peppercorn fries were the highlight.. Overall the market is crammed with diners like this i.e American style burgers so for me it has to be innovative and really tasty to stand out. The only thing I remember about the décor were the stairs leading upward to the toilet being old , crooked and needing replacing The service was good however I just found the food to be a let down for the cost. I went for the Honey Bun- a grilled chicken burger with honey mustard and salad and applewood smoked cheese. I of course upgraded the fries to sweet potato fries too. The fries let the order down a little- very thin and not much actual potato in them. Still tasty, but Iv had better I guess! The burgers however are the selling point- the men who were with us said the beef pattys were really good quality meats, juicy and thick. The staff were fantastic and always seemed happy to help, my group did get there a little early and they didn't mind sitting them down with drinks even an hour before I arrived and the table was booked for, obviously, they wouldn't be able to do this during peak/busy times but it was nice they offered this. I did mention it was my birthday on the reservation, they didn't seem to acknowledge that but it is easy to miss these things in the notes, and the staff did seem friendly so it likely was the case of forgetting rather than being malicious and not caring. The restaurant had a relaxed, chilled and comfortable vibe, I loved sitting next to the radiator which was perfect on a cold winter's evening. My only criticism of the ambience was it was really dark, to the point where I had to lower my phone's screen brightness significantly as it was straining my eyes. There was a lack of vegetarian options, so one of my guests who isn't a meat-lover had to settle for fish and chips for her main but she did enjoy it. On the other hand, the gluten-free menu had many choices, in terms of different steak, meat and fish dishes. For my starter, I went for the scallops, I didn't enjoy the potatoes with this dish as they seemed to have something in them which meant they weren't as smooth as I would have liked my mashed potatoes, the scallops I didn't enjoy but I won't mark them down on that as this was the first time I ever tried scallops, and it'd be unfair otherwise. I ordered a Long Island Ice Tea to drink, I love how unlike other places (some of them even charge double the price), it tasted so good, and it looked good,t this is down to using household names and good brands in the ice tea, including Kettel One Vodka, Bacardi Rum and Pepsi Max, considering this was £6.75 I was especially pleased, considering a week earlier I had paid double the price for an awful, bitter drink which was also supposed to be a Long Island Ice Tea, so they did a good job here. I went for the chicken dish as my main course and I really enjoyed it, the chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and I loved the dauphinoise potatoes, they were cooked perfectly again and this is such a simple dish but it seems to get right, I've had many issues where they were bland, greasy and inedible, sometimes even with hard potatoes from other restaurants or as a part of a ready meal, and that wasn't the case here. I would have liked more of them, as good as the chicken was I found there was too much chicken compared to the other parts of the menu. The gravy/dipping pot was nice, but it was rich so again I wouldn't want too much of it. The food is a little high-end, but it was worth it to celebrate a special occasion, this isn't a typical restaurant to come to regularly though, but still with good quality food it is nice to come to, especially as the loyalty scheme makes it more affordable, just for downloading the app I was given a free glass of fizz (Normally £4.40) on my first visit. It is also a shame that the chips/fries are fried in the same oil as gluten-containing items (some Miller and Carter locations have separate friers), it's so frustrating, as good as the dauphinoise potatoes are, I wouldn't really want them with a steak, it's a shame they haven't invested in a separate frier yet and I strongly hope they consider it in the future, due to the price of the steaks I really would expect to have chips with it really. 4* - I had a good dining experience, this is one of my favourite places to eat in Wilmslow, after having multiple bad dining experiences on my past visits to the Cheshire East town, it was refreshing to finally have an experience of good food on a trip to Wilmslow and I will look forward to returning, it restored my faith in Miller and Carter.

We started off with scallops - beautifully cooked - with classic cauliflower purée and crispy pancetta and calamari - average. Then we accepted the inevitable and ordered steak, with a bottle of Malbec Rob got the steak with ribs - meat overload! And I just got a ribeye. The waiter was a little pushy on getting me to order medium. I usually eat steak medium rare - but he persuaded me that medium would be better. Not the best idea - I should have stuck to my guns - it was medium to well and a bit dry - at least a medium rare steak has a bit of juice!! Rob also found his rare steak was a tad over cooked - definitely not blue like he asked. For a steak restaurant this isn't good! The other thing was that the steak was overwhelmed with the extra 'stuff' it came with. You got to order a sauce separately - but they came with herb butter anyway. There were fries, onion loaf (? Like a slice of onion ring pie - good but bizarre!), watercress, tomato and a iceberg wedge with a different sauce. Basically a tonne of crap to detract from the actual steak!! This must be how they communicate value for money? Anyway we were pretty stuffed but managed to try some chocolate ganache and the chocolate pot mini dessert that comes with a hot drink. Coast To Coast is the newest…read moreaddition to Bolton's Middlebrook Retail Park, and has had the good fortune of having a unit built especially for them between Pizza Hut and McDonalds, where there was formerly some parking that wasn't used very much. As you approach the restaurant, it's nice to see that they have a stylish and pleasant outdoor seating area which I can see being popular in summer. A nice touch is that the pots on the tables are actually fresh rosemary plants which smell great. When you walk into the restaurant itself, it definitely has a "wow" factor. It's very stylishly decorated in dark woods, padding, and with theatrical lighting and spotlights to give it a nicer atmosphere, very much in a New York Loft style. The decoration is very focussed on its American theming, with wall boxes containing artifacts and pictures of different US States. Even the toilets are bright, stylish, and pleasant. The seating is split into different areas and a bar area, there are standard tables, tall tables, and cosy booths, all padded in blacks, deep blues, and reds. The condiments on the table tell you ahead of time that you're in for a good quality trip. High quality vinegar, Tabasco, and Budweiser BBQ Sauce (delicious!) with tactile salt and pepper shakers have you ready for the experience. The menu is extensive, expensive, and very tempting! I say expensive, as it's a bit more than the average cost in the area, (their cheapest burger is £10.45), but they have some really good weekday lunch offers where you can really get a good deal compared to the main evening menu. Our server was a pleasant guy called Joel who told us about the specials, things not available, and his personal recommendations. He was friendly and professional through our visit, attempting to up-sell a few times (sides, desserts etc) but without being obnoxious or pushy about it. We ordered from the lunch menu, and chose to start with the loaded skins and the battered mushrooms. These didn't take long to arrive, and were absolutely superb. The battered mushrooms weren't little button mushrooms like the usual offerings, but big mushrooms, in a perfectly crispy batter! The potato skins were loaded with cheese and BBQ Pulled Pork, which was mind blowing! I've not had pulled pork in a loaded skin before, and the flavour and texture was sublime. I didn't even need to touch that mayonnaise! It's a nice point to notice that the dishes are prepared so their logo is at the top of the plate, and facing the customer, almost like a piece of artwork. For our mains we went for the classic cheeseburger and the southern fried chicken burger. Once again, these were nicely presented. We both chose different fries as our accompaniments. The normal fries were nice but nothing amazing, however the sweet potato fries were crispy, delicious, and morish! I'd definitely get those next time! The cheeseburger was juicy and meaty, and perfectly cooked. The southern fried chicken burger had the most perfect crunch, and was seasoned just right without turning into the pepper-fest that so many chicken dishes fall into. We didn't order dessert (we were stuffed!), but Joel told us about how his favourite dessert was the warm fudge brownie, (complete with "mmm! nom nom nom!" after describing it). The food was very good, particularly given the lunchtime price. I'm not sure I'd be as happy with the price if it was the full evening cost, but as somewhere to come for a special occasion now and then, Coast To Coast delivers, even if it's not somewhere you'd go as often as some of the other cheaper chain restaurant options on the leisure park. However, I can see those other restaurants quaking in their boots a bit, as Coast To Coast is doing what they're doing, but better, and may steal their customers! The service is really superb, from the host greeting you at the door, to the server, and even the folks bringing the food out to your table if your server is busy. We felt taken care of, and looked after. It didn't feel like we were just another bill, and we didn't have to crane ourselves about looking for staff. I'd dine here again. It'd be great for a birthday or anniversary visit. There's much more I'd like to try from that menu! I have my eye on the sliders...

I ordered a burger and chips and the burger was quite small in the bun, no real flavour and each bite was rather bland, even the presentation was boring and lacked any appeal. It was bustling in there when we arrived for our meal (we booked ahead of time) and our table was tucked to the side of the bar so we were still immersed in the atmosphere of the place but nicely out of the way. The Rib Joint & Tap Bar is covered in 80s skateboarding elements, including an awesome 'tiled' wall made from sawn-up skateboards. Set over three floors, we were disappointed to hear that the upper two weren't open that night (the First Floor Bar had been booked for a private event and the Liars Lounge on the second floor was simply closed). Hope to be able to fully explore next time. Anyway, on to the dining - they have a decent cocktail menu, including examples such as Deep South Zombie (hence the earlier voodoo reference) and a huuuuge list of beers either on tap, in bottles or cans. Conversely, the food menu is remarkably short - with varieties of pork or beef ribs and about a dozen side dishes. The only vegetarian main course is the Watermelon Salad (which was very good apparently). The carnivores in the group awaited the ribs and when they arrived I think most of our jaws hit the floor. They looked like meals for cavemen. Serious pieces of meat on the bone but with a generous meat-to-bone ratio. The gorgeously juicy beef Short Ribs I ordered (£22) simply sloughed off the bones. The side order of Smoke Pit Beans & Burnt Ends (£4) were tasty, but not as good as Red's True BBQ's in my opinion. Cue the meat sweats. I was still full until dinnertime the next day, which if you know me is a serious matter indeed! The only minor quibble was the flimsy paper covers on the metal dinner trays that the food was placed on - it gets somewhat 'mushed' when you're trying to eat your ribs which is annoying - get rid of them!

On first looks it seems fairly small inside however there is an upstairs section that pretty much doubles the capacity. We grabbed a drink downstairs from the bar before heading up to the upper deck which I preferred. It was a nice chilled out setting and the bar staff were really friendly and great at recommending drinks. I'll be back to taste the food some time soon, and will update the review once I have! It's a fairly large restaurant with two floors of seating - Nando's new QR code system is handy here when sitting upstairs as you don't have to go up and down the stairs to order, although if you have an allergy you will need to order at the counter as this must be processed by a manager. I visited on a busy Saturday, and was advised of a 30-35 minute wait for a table for two, the Nandoca took my contact details and promised to call me when my table was ready. I found it interesting how Nando's here used the old-school pen and paper, and then a staff member physically called me, with most other Nando's using a tablet or QR code, the more personal touch is nice but I prefer the newer way just in case I miss their call, and it also saves the employees time to deal with matters in the restaurant. For the time they spent chasing up customers back to inform them their table was ready, they could have had more staff in the kitchen or been topping up the cutlery/sauces which had become do depleted, I had to go downstairs to get what I needed. Despite being advised of a wait of over half an hour, I only had to wait ten minutes or so. The wait for food was much longer than usual though, but I'd prefer waiting longer for food if it meant I'd be sat down quicker. I had to wait a couple of minutes to order at the counter as they couldn't find a manager, and then the only manager working appeared to be busy, the manager was friendly though and he had pretty much a full restaurant to deal with so was trying his best. I do find the prices a little high at Nando's, for the kind of place that it is, and the prices keep going up every couple of months too. I also dislike the fact they no longer offer Mayonnaise, replacing it with a vegan alternative or a paid Peri-naise (Mayonnaise + Peri-Peri Sauce). On this occasion, my meal came to £14.45 which didn't include a drink as I opted for tap water. I ordered a Hot Chicken Butterfly with Peri Chips and Spicy Rice, my chicken was cooked well, I went for the Hot Peri-Peri sauce compared to my usual medium, I felt like something a bit spicier, I don't think the sauce looked as nice on the chicken as the medium, as it was darker but still tasted good. The rice tasted a little dry, potentially like it had been reheated, and the chips could have been seasoned slightly better. I did ask a staff member to bring a couple of pots for me to pour my sauces in, as they never seem to have them out, but he simply forgot and didn't bring out anything. 3* - The interior is attractive and comfortable, food is up to a good standard but there is room for improvement. I wouldn't return at a peak time, such as a busy Saturday, in future as I do feel their standards dropped on this occasion as despite having many staff members, they didn't appear able to handle it too well.

The bartender had NO IDEA what it was or how to serve it but we quickly got the ice/lemon/appropriate glass sorted and although it might seem expensive at £4.50 for 50ml it's a good alternative to wine for an aperitif. Prosecco was £22 a bottle which wasn't bad either. I thought the ale selection was a little limited although and I couldn't work out what the microbrewery aspect was (curiously they only seem to have a wine menu even though they have an extensive amount of fancy sprits which you can't see properly). As the evening (Saturday) wore on it became increasingly busy and uncomfortable to sit at the bar with people bashing past you to get their order - they probably need to move some of those chairs on busy nights (/you might want to try another option - amazingly the market was actually quieter by that point!).
