In North Bay for work and stumbled across this gem of a restaurant. Staff is super friendly, and very helpful and efficient. Liked it so much I came back the next day. Day one was a nice grilled pesto chicken wrap with goat cheese, but it was the southwest corn chowder that ruled the meal. Less hungry on day two, so I only bought the red lentil and apricot soup. Weirdly sweet starting out (what did I expect?!), but it soon settled into a complex mix of flavours, and was incredibly satisfying on a chilly northern Ontario day. I don't expect to be back this way anytime soon, but will certainly return here to dine again when I do. read more

Worked in City Centre building right next door to this place for two years. This was an amazing place to grab breakfast and lunch everyday. Phenomenal staff. Sooooo friendly. Miss it something fierce. Heard rumors it might close down which break my heart. Wish it was a bit cheaper. Thats all. Have a room upstairs if you want to do a business meeting there also! Great food, able to deal well with substitutions and allergies, competitive prices. No delivery and only open during limited hours makes this a difficult eatery to enjoy at any hour outside of lunchtime but if you can make it here during their regular hours of operation, you likely won't regret it. read more

This place is incredible for a quick, delicious, healthy and novel lunch (Where else in North Bay can you get corn chowder or chickpea and spinach soup?). The staff are very courteous and the service is always quick. I recommend the Pesto Chicken or Dana's Wrap with the Apricot and Lentil soup (when they have it), although it deserves saying that I've tried everything and have never had anything I didn't enjoy. Even though they use quality ingredients, they don't skimp on the good stuff. Oh, and they have vegetarian options for those of that persuasion. Lunch runs about $10 for a wrap or panini and a soup - a great deal for what they're serving. The lazy part of my brain that resorts to cliches tempts me to call it North Bay's best-kept secret but the secret isn't well-kept at all. While there aren't lines out the door like there would be in a larger city, their lunchtime traffic attests to the quality of their food. If you haven't been, you definitely should! read more

Love Urban Cafe! Love all their soups. Must get their early because they run out of soup fast, especially my fav Dill Pickle soup on Tuesdays. It's great because you can buy their soup frozen to put in your freezer for lunch or dinner too! Their sandwich are to die for! I especially love the Northern Forest Panini. It's my fav! From the outside you would never expect such a delightful little restaurant with delicious fresh food. For lunch we had a Ham, Cheese and Asparagus Wrap with an enormous fresh salad and a Cheddar, Bacon and Tomato Grilled Panini which I would order again in a minute! We were disappointed that they were out of their homemade soups, but it was close to 2:00 P. M. when we arrived. Excellent and friendly service. Highly recommended! read more
