Terrific food, friendly service! After having an enjoyable lunch one afternoon, we returned to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were a party of 6 on a weekend night and the restaurant was full, but we were served very promptly. The appetizer selection has uncommon, interesting selections such as duck tacos and Kim Chee dumplings, both of which we tried along with bruschetta. All came in generous portions and were very tasty. Steaks were cooked perfectly, and the shrimp tagliatelle was also good. Been once. Our table was beside the hostess stand which I wasn't happy with a first. But it was quiet and unobtrusive which is credited to both the staff and patrons for their consideration of their surroundings. Service was excellent yet not pushy. They accommodated my request to make a gluten free garlic bread with cheese with no hesitation, now that's service!! That's the one and only (ok 99%) thing that separates them all! When you have great service and you treat people nice etc... everything is better!!! The gluten free garlic bread with cheese was the best, the bread was soft and just the right amount of cheese. The rib eye was cooked perfectly and the whole meal was excellent! And the veggies were not over cooked and nice and crispy! They even had gluten free desserts! Wow! I love this upscale, modern restaurant. They have amazing burgers including vegetarian and vegan options. All dishes on their menu are yum. Service ranks from above average to superb. One of my best experiences with staff was at this restaurant a few years ago. Their lunch menu prices have insane value. You will pay more for fast food or a food truck. Amazing patio. Went yesterday with my family to check out this new restaurant in town and when we first went in I was impressed. The decor is lovely and there is an upstairs portion which was full sadly. We sad senators by the window. There's a great tv by the bar that allowed us to watch a hold game. The waitresses are well dressed and seemed friendly enough. Then we ordered. First of all anyone ibn the service industry knows that a ladies order is always taken first, then around. My husband was on the waitresses left yet his order was taken first. My husband ordered two appetizers. The tempura goat cheese (delicious) and the chilli pepper shrimp (not good). We both ordered the station house burger. We were asked if we wanted medium or well. He ordered medium. I asked for medium well. I was told I could not have medium well. What do yo mean I can't have a burger I'm paying for cooked to my preference? I asked if the chef was capable of cooking it to medium well and was told yes he does but they choose not to serve medium well. Only medium and well. This of course is the stupidest thing I've ever heard at what is suppose to be an upscale restaurant. Everyone at our table ordered burgers as well. The appetizers came. They give complimentary bread which is okay but nothing special. They served The plates over my head instead of walking around the small pillar to place them directly in front of my husband. Which anyone in the service industry knows is a very big faux paw. The goat cheese looked like little puff balls and we're paired with sour cream which was an excellent combination. Very tasty. The shrimp looked wet as if it was thawed and done spices were thrown on it swirled in a pan and placed on our plate. Lack luster. My berry sangria arrived. Do not order this drink there was so much ice and garnish I seriously doubt I received 1.5 ounces. And it's was flavorless. The burgers came. The buns and toppings are quite tasty but the burgers themselves were flavorless as well. Almost watery. Thankfully The toppings compensated for the lack of seasonings. The fries were very nicely seasoned and served in tiny baskets, which for one in our group caused a problem. She had gravy and there was no way to reasonably pour the gravy on her fries she had to dip them individually. Especially since your food is served on a galvanized tray. Our entire group agreed the burgers weren't tasty with the layers of toppings and ask u had had better elsewhere for less. The experience cost us 80 dollars for the two of us and quite frankly I can get better service at any of the chains in town and a better burger at Kelsey's or the dinner Bell in Bonfield. Very interesting/different menu, really would like to come back and try more things. I ordered the Asian cauliflower and the scallop Rockefeller. The presentation was excellent but it lacked flavour, especially the scallops, until I asked for salt and the concerned owner or manager then suggested it needed more parmesan...and boy did that improve the dish. Well I thought my friends were being dramatic when describing their experience but Im convinced. Went in with some people from work and was served by Dean, (unfortunately the same waiter my other friends had such a bad experience with) and while the food was great, like last time when Rebeca? served me at the bar, I likely wont come back. Nor will the rest of my party. Rude Arrogant, moody, bossy...these are just a few words id use to describe Dean. And i say bossy because, i dont know if hes also a manager, but hes quite "bossy" to his coworkers. Basically he made the whole experience unpleasant, to say the least. And seeing as how it seems he works a lot, ill skip the stress of dealing with a 25 year old on an ego trip. read more

What a nice surprise! We got rerouted after an accident on Hwy 69 enroute to little current. 3 extra hours of driving brought us to this wonderful place where we were very cheerily greeted, promptly seated, hydrated and fed. Pork Dumplings....phenomenal and the sauce which normally I dislike at any Asian restaurant was phenomenal and I wanted to (but didn't) drink it ;) I had the lamb chops they were perfectly seasoned, cooked and the vegetables were excellent, especially the artichoke garnishing and the sweet potatoes. My buddy had bold duck and gnocchi and it was solid and really good as he put it. There were also nothing but beautiful women here which was a nice surprise. Didn't expect that going through the back roads. Beautiful setting, ambiance, everything is done right from the food, servers, decor and image of the building and business. Made the detour easier and we only had 3.5 hrs drive after the food. read more

Dining here was outstanding. We ordered three appetizers - butterflied jumbo shrimp with sweet chilli rub, scallops Rockefeller and candied salmon. They were all absolutely delicious. We then ordered our steaks done rare, and we completely surprised that they were when we got them! Ha ha, the flavour and wine we're to die for. Highly recommend going here! Don't be fooled by the pub setting although modern on the inside one may pass by it driving missing a gem inside. The waitstaff is very polite and friendly and the menu has plenty of choices to fulfill your palate. The food is definitely well though of from a culinary chef who knows what flavors do well with a particular food. We ordered mussels that were fresh perfectly steamed and served in a coconut curry wilted onion reduction sauce that was original and exquisite. Rib steak perfectly cooked as ordered with a smoky grilled finish, vegetables perfectly steamed for full flavor and potato wedges quick fried finished in the oven with Parmesan lobster tail was also perfectly matched with drawn butter. FANTASTIC food and atmosphere. Jaymee our server recommend a local tap red ale beer after a long days ride. It was a good choice. We had two! We selected the antipasto next for a starter. Words cannot describe the presentation and variety of pleasure. Highly recommend this appetizer. Hubby had the Canada prime steak and I had the Korean Duck BBQ vermicelli. Both selections were out of this world. I made myself stop eating just so I had room for dessert. Jaymee told us that they were known for the Sticky Toffee Pudding (Date) cake with vanilla bean ice cream. So we both said "we must try that", with two spoons of course. Another great choice. I was a little bit worried when I walked in wearing capris and flip flops (plus biker hair, OMG) because the decor is expressively modern. I felt immediately at ease when greeted by our hostess. Excellent, Excellent, will be back for sure!!! My partner and our friends stopped in for lunch. The food quantity, quality and price was excellent. The food was delivered very quickly and just like we wanted it. The male wait staff we had even knew how to read us. When my partner asked him if there was any specials for the day, he said he was the only special of the day. We just laughed and enjoyed our meal and the environment. It didn't hurt that the male wait staff was gorgeous with a beautiful sense of humor, dimples and a ass that rocks. All and all the restaurant atmosphere, look, food, quality and quantity of food, and the excellent easy going wait staff made for a very excellent luncheon. I was very pleased that they fit our table for 2 in on a Saturday evening with no reservation. Even so, the restaurant was busy, but not crowded. The food is expensive, but well worth it. 2 small crab cakes cost $12, but they were delicious (I would prefer them served a tad warmer). The burgers are served medium, which was a little too pink for my liking, and the beef lacked flavor - it needed some sort of seasoning. My wife's $25 Salmon was much better, with the best garlic aioli I have tasted. It is served on a bed of "risotto", but I was not convinced that they use Arborio rice, as it split when cooked, rather than plumping. Our server was a delight. She made us feel comfortable and welcome. Our food was served very timely, and we never had to wait for drinks. Speaking of drinks, The Station seems to have the best On Tap draft list in town, listing several Muskoka region favorites. We really enjoyed our evening out. We look forward to going back, but not too often for the price. read more

This place is amazing! We are from our of town, and have found that The Station is one of the go to places in North Bay. Staff is friendly, and food is excellent. It's a two story restaurant with a main floor that has a long bar with 4 tv screens playing sports. Good beers on tap. Everything we have ordered so far is cooked to perfection. Burger is on the excellent side of excellence...the smoked mozzarella ravioli with pesto sauce is to die for. Rib eye steak is amazing. Modern, rustic atmosphere. I highly recommend! read more

First time here, me and my boyfriend went to celebrate my 30th birthday. Was able to get a seat right away even without a reservation! Started off with the sangria which was amazing! I ordered the 8oz steak and opted for mashed potatoes instead of the risotto which was not a problem. My boyfriend had the chicken with ravioli, both dishes were amazing to say the least! I am very very picky with my steak, usually I have to cut off a lot of a steak because there is too much fat and gristle, well I ate every bit of that steak! The veggies that came with it were cooked perfectly too. The chicken and ravioli was also full of flavour! The price was what I would have expected for the food that we got. For 2 entrees and 2 drinks it was $80 (rounded up) bone the less we will be back to try the rest of the menu! read more

I swear this is my favourite restaurant that I have ever been to. I travel so much for work, I enjoy going out and trying new spots. Anytime I go to North Bay this is my only spot, already have told my friends. The beer selection, the food (please try the salmon or the beef stroganoff) and the service is incredible. The service was superb! Although they were busy, it did not feel crowded and we didn't have to wait long for our food. We both had steaks and they were so delicious. My husband's was a bit undercooked for his taste, but mine was cooked exactly as I asked. The cream of asparagus and vegetable soup was fantastic, best asparagus soup I have ever had! The food was a bit pricey, but completely worth it when you add in how good it tasted and the atmosphere + amazing service. We will definitely be back the next time we are in North Bay. read more

On a friends suggestion we tried this place, after reading some glowing reviews we wandered in. It's cozy enough, with a cross section of clientele & booths that actually are constructed for an average height/weight. The Server, whom we overheard say she'd been there from the 1st day, was upbeat & friendly. A decent cocktail menu but we saw nothing past a Margarita (@$12) we expected an actual Margarita. Lovely overly large glass w half salt rim (but it's the same salt in their shakers which tastes like Kosher salt) The presentation with the full lime circle was nice but the lack of any real lime juice, not nearly enough Margarita mix & waaay too much water ruined the experience & the tequila flavour. Apps, reads well, upscale options, ordered the sauted brandy escargot & mushrooms, tasted more like campbells mushroom soup than anything. $14. Friend told us they have nice beef cuts but make sure they season it with salt & pepper otherwise they offer an apple smoked dry rub. I asked the lovely Server what was in the dry rub but she didn't know so i requested some salt & pepper be used. Pretty sure it wasn't. Steak, ($38) tho nicely cooked, med. rare, wasn't as full of flavour as I'd prefer & on the dry side. Server asked if i'd like sauted onions & I agreed but that was totally veg overkill. The accompanying 'baked potato' was cut into wedges & i think baked then deep fried, so i wasn't a fan of the overly dry texture & asked for a side of au jus & was given gravy. The ribeye also came with a huge portion of green beans, red peppers & rapini, all done perfectly but how on earth are they making $ from giving away so much veg? I'd prefer my $ to go to the beef, hold the sides & let me choose to add on. Dessert, Creme Brule Cheesecake. Good portion lovely taste but not the raspberry drizzle which tasted more like watery jam. The 3 small dollops of whip cream (?) were unnecessary. Over all, not bad but not great. Server was excellent to the point i couldn't bring myself to tell her any of this. read more

As an appetizer, I had the French Onion Soup which was very hearty and cheesy. My main was the 12 once Cashew crusted Salmon with risotto and rapini. It was a struggle to finish my appetizer and main meal. It was very delicious that I almost finished every bite. WOW, a new place in North Bay that seems a tad upscale...I better check that out! That was my initial thought when I told about that Station Tap House when visiting family. So on a frigid Saturday night I went with my sister to give it a try. Upon arrival, it was busy but not packed and it was pretty loud. The atmosphere is stale and lacking in comfort and excitement. Despite the lower level having TV's it just doesn't fit in with a steak house theme. Sitting at the bar was rather boring and the menu very uninspiring for the prices. It is a major rip off in my opinion as I have had the pleasure to dine in very upscale restaurants in Toronto and they charge similar prices but the difference would be quality! WAY OVER PRICED! I really don't mind paying a lot for a great meal... but certainly it won't be here. As a vegetarian I didn't have a lot of options. I can't comment on the Steak but what I can comment on food wise is the Tempura Goat cheese app. It was horrible and for $10 I felt very ripped off. It came in one of those trendy little frying baskets. Small portion but most disappointing was the lack of cheese. It was mostly breading and flavorless. Station Tap house... With all the hype surrounding the restaurant I was expecting much more. The service is average, the quality and texture of the food was a disappointment and the corny one liners on the billboard outside are trite. Skip it. There are much better restaurants nearby that are worth the money. read more
