They are…read morethe only company I found in the state of Colorado that uses the newest and best decoupling system for sound proofing ( Genie Clips). I was hearing everything from my upstairs neighbors, from the alarm clock and talking to every foot step they took sounded like they were going to come through my ceiling. After 2 attempts from a drywaller that did not have a clue about sound proofing ( he just threw up some Quiet Rock right to the joists, WRONG!), I had it ripped out and called Fossil Creek. Joe came all the way out to Westminster and blew me away with his knowledge of how his Fossil Creek crew would fix the sound from above. Fossil Creeks system was highly organized with different teams and many more detailed steps than the other drywaller did to achieve the sound proofing I wanted. I am so happy with the end result of peace and quiet, the finish of the drywall, and the professionalism of Fossil Creek. What is notable about this job is that we have a home that was built in 1918 so our house does not have straight lines to work by. He made it look as though we did...that is a hard task. He has also demoed and installed a new tile floor in our powder bath, also not level, and it turned out flawless. The powder bath also needed new glass installed and and additional piece of wood trim...the tricky part was he needed to make it blend into the existing trim that is 100 years old...he did it and it looks beautiful.

He estimated it could take up to 4 hours for the job, which we thought was excessive, but agreed to hire him due to the great reviews. He thought alltogether it could run from $350-$400. Being a business owner myself, I assumed he was quoting on the high end but would actually charge me for what he said - labor and materials. The job done by his one man crew was excellent. I must say the quality was great which is why I am giving three stars. However, the guy was at our house for just under three hours. I got a bill for $400. We priced the materials at less than $40. When I asked for a breakdown of the bill, he said it was three hours of time at the home, plus an additional hour to go pick up the materials, which comes to $340 and then exactly $60 for materials. I understand the upcharge on materials since they potentially did not have a 2 x 4 and some plywood on hand (though I find that hard to believe) and had to go get them. But then to upcharge and add an additional hour just so he could charge us on the high end of his quote is poor business practice. I verified this with other companies. He should have explained ahead of time that there would be an automatic one hour charge to pick up materials. I would not use this company again simply because of their poor business practices.
