Let me start off by saying I maybe get 2 manicure/ pedicures a year. This place happen to be close by to where I was so I decided to give it a try. I walked in the door and they do not have anybody at the front desk but the guy who I believe to be the owner, yelled at me from the back where he was giving a manicure to pick out a polish from the wall. After I chose my polish, a lady comes and gets me for the pedicure part. She quickly threw the menu of services in my lap and was demanding to know what I wanted. Well I'm assuming because she didn't speak any English whatsoever. I was trying to tell her what I wanted and ask questions. She was getting frustrated, as well as I was and she raised her voice and I said to her I don't understand what you are saying. I think everybody turned and looked at me and the owner was sitting still giving the manicure, and ask me what I wanted. And then he got up and walked up to the front to check somebody in and never finished our conversation. The lady continued to do the pedicure. After the pedicure, I was moved over for a manicure. I waited at a station until another lady came and got me and moved me to another station. I decided to do the dip because I have never done that before. I have never had a manicure where they don't soak your fingers but like I said I don't get them very often. One of the nails, the color was coming up when she thought she was done so I had to have one redone. I am also not very sure how well they sterilize their tools and instruments. As I was waiting for my nails to dry, she had grabbed some of the things that she had used on me and was using them on the girl that was sitting beside me. While I was sitting there waiting I could tell from conversations that there were some regular people in there and the two owners knew them and we're very personable. What I didn't like was they spoke English and then when they wanted to say something to each other, they would mostly not speak English. I was there for what seemed to be a couple hours, or maybe it just felt like that. I don't think I've ever walked out of a nail salon in a bad mood. The total ended up being $69 and some change. I was looking for a place in my area to get a pedicure, because the technician at the last salon I visited was aggressive about it (cutting cuticles too short, for instance) - not a pleasant experience. I tried Urban Nails based on positive Facebook reviews and recommendations. I was a little apprehensive after the last experience, but I had no problems here. The pedicure lasted longer than expected and was much more enjoyable. Also, they offer beverages (including wine, if you're interested in that) during the pedicure. read more

Let me start by saying DO NOT GO HERE if you have sensitive skin, eczema, a low pain tolerance, and I could go on... The lady that helped me... dug into an unknown ingrown toe nail, used what felt like a wire brush with regular hand soap on my legs and it hurt like a ... then put the hot towel on after that which made it hurt worse!!! Then... gave me the most painful massage I've ever had during my pedicure!! Awful experience and I will never be back!! She did a great job on my nail polish... that was it! I want to say something nice about the place but damn... never again! read more

This salon is so great! I booked a last minute appointment here because I had gone to a different salon the day before and wasn't happy with how it turned out. They were able to redo my manicure and I LOVE how it looks! They listened to my concerns and were extra careful with my nails since they're thin and super prone to cracking, and gave me a $5 student discount! This is definitely my new go-to read more

I have been going to Urban Nails almost since it opened. I'm not a regular but 4-6 pedis a year and the occasional special event mani. No complaints. Always depends on the tech you get. However, in April I made appointments for pedi and manis for my granddaughters ages 7 and 9 and a pedi appt for myself. We were treated very poorly. The cranky tech my 9 year old granddaughter got was so gruff she made her cry. The o love you saving grace was the VERY sweet tech that was working with the 7 year old. Even though I made an appt the girls didn't get a full manicure just a cursory filing and polish ordered by the owner who didn't acknowledge me when she made the decision. I paid full price for these little girls. They were well behaved and so excited about this special birthday outing. I will not be going back. read more
