Totally unsatisfied with interaction with the Don Mills store. I purchased a defective hummingbird feeder. I did not keep my receipt but had the transaction via email with my credit card provider. Even though all they had to do was look at the price of the feeder and add the tax it would show that I indeed purchased the feeder at their store. Considering they had the same feeder there it seems to me that would be a logical process. This was not an option apparently. Wonderful store with very helpful staff. This is the only place I was able to find corn cob food for the squirrels. They also have bulk discount...the more you buy the higher the discount. Great selection of feeders for birds and squirrels. I was surprised at the selection of gifts and books as well. The store even has a a rewards program! How can you beat that? read more

BEWARE. AVOID THIS BUSINESS LIKE COVID. Scam artists through and through. They shopped a damaged birdbath for my moms 60th. When she opened it there were two chips that CLEARLY happened during manufacturing, as there were no glass pieces in the box. Despite this, store tried to blame shipping company and offer a 30% discount. I requested a replacement item to which they agreed to ship to me free of charge. I live in B.C., so I ordered online. I ordered a pair of binoculars, 2 mason bee homes and some replacement tubes for one of the homes. I had never ordered from them before, and I was a little nervous, particularly since one of the items was breakable (the bins), and a couple of the others were wooded and heavy. No need to worry. The items were shipped promptly and arrived in perfect condition. Everything was brand new and in great shape. Product quality is high. I'm very happy. I hope the bees will be too! Urban Nature Store (urbandnaturestore.ca) engages in a classic type of scam where they send damaged or defective goods via their online store. They charge the purchaser for shipping and have a 60-day return policy, but what they don't mention is that you will ALSO have to pay for return shipping on the return if they think the product is still "functional". They sent me this rusty and defective oriole feeder. When contacted, they admit that there is manufacturer defect, but claim because it is still "functional" I must pay shipping costs. I will end up paying $45 in shipping for a $29 refund. Clearly the business counts on this type of scam for their online store. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!! read more

This isn't the kind of store that I normally visit but they have a lot of unique and hard to find items that you may not find in your local department store. This place looks small from the outside and the inside is fully crammed and stocked with all sorts of things. It has items suitable for bird watchers like bird houses, feeders, baths, special cameras and binoculars. They also advertise insect and animal repellents, and gardening items. They have decorative items such as weather vanes and wind chimes. The educational toys are also neat and they have some decent gift ideas. Most of their theme revolves around nature such as mugs, board games, plush toys and puzzles related to animals for example. I was looking for a particular hard to find wall clock as a gift and it would have cost me double to purchase it online from another retailer that had it in stock. I had called the store in advance to see if they had any in stock and asked them to keep one aside for me. I dropped by on a Saturday to find this place a bit busy with customers. I only browsed for a couple of minutes and then went to the cashier who asked if I was just browsing or needed help. The staff was very friendly and easy to deal with, even over the phone. read more

This is a no star rating! I have never felt the need to write a review before, but I've never been so disappointed. So it's December 11th, 2016 - exactly two weeks before Christmas and a woman orders a bird feeder. The chances are pretty good that this is a Christmas gift for a husband! I work retail and would NEVER criticize another retailer unless I was really unhappy about something. I come home from a long hard day serving customers a find a HUGE picture of the exact Christmas gift inside on the OUTSIDE of the box. My husband brought the box inside the house and had a discussion with my daughter about how this couldn't be a bird feeder inside!!!!!! He was just being nice about knowing what his Christmas gift is two weeks BEFORE Christmas!!!! Who in your shipping department thought it would be a good idea to plaster a HUGE picture of the product on the OUTSIDE OF THE SHIPPING BOX?????? WHO DOES THAT????? I will never order another product from such an inconsiderate company. If you ever order a gift from them make sure you write all over the order that its a Christmas gift and you don't want a GIGANTIC picture of the gift on the OUTSIDE OF THE SHIPPING BOX!!!! Now I don't really care about the quality of the product or whether or not he will like the gift. If it weren't TWO WEEKS BEFORE CHRISTMAS I WOULD SEND IT BACK AND BUY HIM SOMETHING ELSE!!!
