Although there seemed to be more employees than customers, which is normally a bad sign that the prices are high, in this case it proved to be helpful in finding the price of one of my cat's favorite treats, which turned out to be somewhat less expensive than my usual pet store as I do not have one in my area, and was amazed at how well it was stocked of my cat's usual varieties along with other varieties of the brand that I did not know about. I mainly came for the special Air Miles offer that day with a lot of bonus miles on a relatively small purchase and with one of my cat's having a birthday next weekend, I thought of giving this place a try to find a gift for her 14th birthday, who looks better than most cats half her age and still leaps into higher places regularly and fairly easily. No low quality type cat treats that you see in grocery stores and most other pet food stores, interesting toys for cats I had never seen in other places, seniors day on the last Tuesday of the month (my husband is a senior), and a second rewards program based on food and treats you purchase. I love Global Pet Foods as a brand and store, but this one is pretty small. They cover all of your pet food needs, but outside of that, there isn't a ton of selection. They have some toys, treats, clothing, beds, etc. but not a huge amount. Staff are always friendly and helpful. read more

This location has extremely discourteous staff! In fact, my experience of this store has never been positive. The store is located on Danforth just before Broadview Avenue. It is a neighbour retail outlet and most of the customers live in the area. Prior to COVID-19, the overall service was very poor. The staff behave as if they are giving away products....as opposed to serving customers. Now that the pandemic has changed how we shop this store takes the Award for Rudest Service. Let's be clear....if it were not for locals supporting this business...then the business sound have gone bust. I feed my cats Raw and they have a large selection. They are almost always stocked up and receive their delivery on Thursday. They also have a large selection of supplements for your pets. The staff are fantastic, helpful, and friendly. I've been shopping there for almost a decade now and never once have had a negative experience. read more

the ladies that own this store are weird and rude. i dont usually go in because of that but i wanted a particular kind of litter so i ordered it over the phone. there is obviously something wrong with the 2 ladies, they have the interpersonal skills of a wall slug. they both could use a lesson on how to treat people with respect instead of acting like you are bothering them. im not sure where they are from the old lady has an accent and is obviously not canadian where we are polite to each other. will never go in there again. read more

Excellent store, beginning with a super-friendly and helpful staff. I've been feeding my dog raw since his puppyhood and G.P. has the Tolden Farms and Pets4Life products I want. I usually take my dog along when I visit and he knows what doorway we are going to - and is anticipating the treat (or two) he scores every time we go in. read more

Should be called the "It's Not Possible Pet Food Store"! The people working there have a lot to learn about customer service. We have been going to this store for about 10 years - once every 3 to 4 weeks to buy food for our dog who is both a picky eater and has inflammatory bowel disease, so cannot eat certain proteins and won't eat most of the ones that he can eat. Global has a loyalty program - buy 12 bags of dog food, get one free. I went in today and they only had the 12 pound (large) size of the Merrick food which works for our fellow, not the 6 pound bag which we usually buy. I was informed that the smaller size had been ordered but had not come in. I was prepared to buy the larger size and asked how they could give me credit for the purchase on the loyalty program, as I did not want to have to buy 11 more large bags to get one free one. I wanted credit only for a single (small) bag purchased notwithstanding that it was twice the size I wanted. I was told in no uncertain terms that "there is nothing they can do" because it is set up in the computer and once entered it could not be changed or amended, etc. It was all because of how the computer worked and it "is completely out of their control". I allowed as I understood the computer issue but suggested that being forced to buy twice as much dog food as I actually wanted and not getting credit on the loyalty program did not seem like good customer service and asked if there wasn't something they could do. The manager of the store replied that "It's not our fault that it wasn't delivered when it was supposed to be". Again, I expressed that, as the customer, I did not feel that should be my problem and that some accommodation should be extended. The manager said that there was nothing she could do and offered to call the owner. The manager began the call with the owner by being insulting to me, suggesting that I was doing something beyond insisting upon good customer service. The telephone was passed over to me and I spoke directly with the owner who, like her staff, had an abrasive manner and talked over me, that is, not listening and interrupting me before I could finish making my point. At that point, I decided that with 2 other pet food stores within a few blocks I could more easily take my business elsewhere. I have shopped at Global Pet Foods for a number of years. I ended up going there by default because my daughter started up a program there and after 12 bags of dry cat food , one was free. When my cat started having severe food allergies not only were they not particularly helpful, they gave me grief when I didn't have a bill handy to prove that I bought the product at their store. This despite the fact that every transaction is logged into their system. Contrast this with Small Wonders across the street. When I went into their store and described what was happening, they referred me to Blue Cross to get hypo-allergenic food. In the past, when my cat wouldn't drink water, they also provided a solution. It is clear that Small Wonders truly has the health of your animal in mind, whereas the staff at Global, particularly the manager, is just doing a job ... a job she doesn't particularly even like. i love this place! i go there all the time for my cat. they always have good prices and great stuff. my cat is very hard to feed and he is 19 years old. but the staff is patient and very helpful. they are also willing to trad a bag of food i bought for another if my cat dose not like it. even if it is open. even if that is a very common thing at other pet store's i have never had that happen anywhere else. go if your close. but if you have to drive far don't bother. parking sucks. read more
