I cannot see myself shopping in any Urban Outfitters store going forward because the quality of their items has really gone downhill. I bought a ring from there and after wearing it for just a few days, it turned my finger green. I've purchased a bag that was fake leather and within a few months it started peeling, as if it had a sunburn. It's funny; I go here almost every day with a little dachshund who loves this store. So I browse it and I tell you, I'm just not into the "chick" vibe of the women's clothes, which are all made in China anyway. There are housewares, giftwares, and even bestselling books like "Sh*t my dad says," but I'm not inspired to buy anything here. Herbie the dachshund loves it here, however, and interestingly he always wants to head right back for the fitting rooms! I'm about to let the cat out of the hat and let y'all know that this UO location has the BEST sales of all the other locations -- better than B'way & Houston, better than 6th Ave & Waverly!! I asked a sales associate why this location always has such deep discounts, and I was told that UO does not mark-down clothes/accessories uniformly at all locations. It's the regional manager's discretion -- and since this location doesn't get the foot traffic that the other UO locations in the city get (busiest locations are B'Way & Houston and Upper East Side) -- the merchandise doesn't sell as quick. So to get the inventory to move, they mark it down further....I've purchased Paper Denim for $30, Triple 5 Soul jackets for $25 and "hipster" T-Shirts that normally go for $25, marked down to $4.99! read more

To achieve the trendy, hipster look, go next door to Odin, or 12 blocks south to Epaulet. Rag & Bone is always a safe (if expensive) bet, and so is Unis. If you want a chain store, go to J. Crew. This spot does have the best sales.. especially the basement section for guys. We've found gems like cool cardigans, 7 jeans and lots of t-shirts, flip flops and what not for boys at unbeatable prices. The girls sale rack is a little messier, but if you dig hard enough you'll often find a steal. Totally worth it. This location is pretty nice. I went here to pick up a gift card and left knowing I would not be coming back here. With no line it was weird to know which way to enter the area to pay the cashiers. The cashier that rung me up gave me a weird look and made me wait while they folded 5-6 shirts prior to ringing me up for my simple gift card purchase. Honestly I really understand the popularity and appeal of all the Urban Outfitters stores. They're really diverse in what they offer, but one thing they all share across the board is that their stuff is cool, trendy, hip etc. I'm a guy , but I hardly find myself buying anything from the Men's section since all they seem to offer is clothing for chicks with dicks. I couldn't see myself wearing half the stuff in there seeing as the clothing seems rather poorly made and is quite expensive to boot. Aside from the overpriced clothing section, what I truly enjoy about Urban is their accessories and housing apartment. You just can't find shit like this anywhere else. Toilet mugs? Cups with a whole range of expletives on them? Countless number of interesting/funny books? You just can't. I've found that you can certainly buy some of the stuff they offer at relatively cheap prices. For example; the Timex watch they have. Fo'ty Fo' mofuckin dolllaz. Just go on Amazon find the same shit for 25. All it comes down to is this: Know your shit and know when you're getting ripped off. This location is pretty nice! Even though I wasn't a fan of their clothing selection, there were a ton of different cool items to check out. The quality of customer service varies depending on which employee you talk to. I ended up buying a new bag, some sunglasses, and a makeup brush. Though I love what I bought, the glasses broke the very next day, despite my being careful handling them. I was bummed by this. The only other thing I was disappointed by is that a lot of the items don't have a price tag, so I ended up embarrassedly asking multiple times what the prices were for several different items. Last time I FOUND myself here was the second time that I was here and honestly both times because the girl I was with wanted to look for a new "cool" shirt or whatever. They completely redesigned this place! The layout kind of makes sense now. Before all the registers were to the side of the store, and that cramped up the store and made shopping a little difficult. They made the right choice to move them to the back! Also I noticed they added charging ports, mainly micro usb for you android users and 30 pin connectors for the iphone users out there! Don't bother shopping anywhere other than in the sale section at Urban. Everything else is wildly overpriced. I personally love their ballet flats. At $30, they're a great deal, but they will probably just last you one season. In general, their shoes are comfortable and stylish. They also have a great selection of jeans, mostly skinny jeans. Their jewelry is very cheap, though. Steer clear because it's likely to leave your fingers/neck/wrist green...not fun. Urban also has amazing quirky nicknacks. My favorite UO location! It's not so large as to be overwhelming, like others I've visited in Soho and the Upper West Side. It's easy to navigate and the employees I've met were very nice and helpful without hovering (I hate that). I almost always find something I like. Actually in love with how small and dainty this place looks. The employees are extremely nice and aren't rude at all. Love the selection of clothes and seems like a secret urban Outfitters since not many people were in there. Extremely loved it. Would go again since there's also a nearby thrift store. My favorite Urban Outfitters in NYC yet! The associates here are super friendly and helpful, even on Black Friday (they're the real MVPs working that dreadful day). The layout is kind of confusing and I kind of don't like how you have to walk downstairs to try on everything (I nearly tripped on my own selections twice trying to walk down the stairs while balancing everything), but it's just a nice environment. Everything is well organized, and their sale sections don't look like a complete train wreck. This location is slightly smaller than the main Soho store and is comparatively the same size as the one on 85th street, but overall, would def choose to come back here vs. other UO locations for a more chill shopping experience. my fav UO in the city-- love the area ANYWAY. its not uber congested but it has EVERYTHING i could want in an UO and like half the obnoxious shoppers. the staff has always been friendly here and i can always find something different--whether it be my current fav sneaks (nike dunks with yellow soles, light pink swooshes, and gold flecks on the white sides) OR a classic fedora OR amazing sunglasses OR some kind of necklace/ring OR a fantastic screen T....pretty much the possibilities are endless at this location. And despite the fact that 75% of the time I walk into this store with no financial sustenance, I can still walk out with a little gem from the clearance racks downstairs. Or if that fails me, a new piece of jewelry is always in order. LOVE UO. read more
