I followed his advice and am so glad I did - the place looks amazing and feels light and spacious. Jason helped to paint the space, and he was in constant phone/text communication to provide status updates, and ask me questions on how I wanted certain things done. I'd also had the carpet pulled up in the bedrooms and the floors underneath redone, which left the trim in bad shape. Jason was able to replace and paint the trim as well, which I appreciated greatly. Now that I'm in my home, I'm catching all of these crazy details they didn't miss, like removing all of the light switch/outlet plates and painting behind them, and pulling out the stove and fridge to paint behind the appliances. Background: Having recently purchased a new cedar fence, as part of a pet adoption build-out, we reached out to many exterior painters. Having spoken with a handful of exterior painters, willing to provide a loose quote, Fridenmaker was the most available and affordable. On the initial visit, they reviewed the site, asked a few questions, and gave us an estimate within around 15 minutes. Delivered in a professional stock folder and presented on professional stock paper, the bid included tax and a deposit. From there, we were given staining options, including advice on which stains would make sense. Finally, they took the time to explain the expectations regarding longevity of the workmanship. After mutually agreeing, we set a date, which was the following week. The next week, we received an email and a text notice of a pending arrival. Because of a technical issue, the intended date was off by one day, but the associate apologized for the mistake and assured us they would be out the following day. The next day they arrived around early, with materials in hand, and proceeded to work. Approximately a few hours in, I was asked to review the initial work, and was also explained the process regarding how the different textured wood would be treated. They completed their initial day by 5 pm. Following this, they informed me they would be delayed because of an employee emergency but would still arrive late and continue the work as promised. Nearly two days into the job, they let me review the gates and the nearly complete fence, making sure the work was what I had in mind. The final day, they arrived, assuring us they would complete the work on the fence and would be done in less than a few hours. Finally, approximately 3 hours later, they asked us to perform a walkthrough and afterward we wrote them a check for the work. Overall, we are satisfied with the work they performed. However, with the upcoming forecast for rain and winds, along with another temperate snowfall, time will tell if the workmanship will hold up. As always, your experience may vary.

I was in the process of gathering three bids, as I am relatively new to the area and wanted to make sure I was getting a fair price. The estimator showed up on time and did the measurements he needed to and then asked if he could come inside to talk with us about the estimate. Then the hard sell began. He said that if we signed up with AV Painting on the spot, even though I had not gotten a second or third estimate, he would be able to get me a lower price if we were willing to vouch for the company and allow them to put a sign in our yard. I told him I was not comfortable signing up with the first company I heard from. He then said that they would be willing to match another price or maybe it was that they would let me out of an agreement with them if I could prove that another company was providing the same service for less. I understand how these things work, however, and I told him no. I was going to get my other estimates because, well, I'm a responsible adult. This man continued to try to sell me on the company. I had to say no three or four times and basically had to ask him to leave. It must be said that I ended up getting three other estimates and not one of them came in and sat down at my dining table and harangued me about their estimate. Needless to say, I was pretty turned off. But this was just the beginning. Over the course of the next weeks and now months, I have made clear more than four times that I will not be hiring them. I got a call two weeks ago and nearly yelled at the man to please leave me alone. I told him that they had lost my business and that I was not interested. This has not stopped them from contacting me. In fact, I just received an email today. Literally months after I have told them via email and via phone that I was not interested in hiring them, I am still receiving contacts from this company. At this point, I'm actually curious how they get any business at all. They have somehow found a way to match aggressive, hard sell tactics with a complete inability to respond to clear communication. If I could give zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the time and hassle of dealing with this unprofessional company.

I never received any email, and I checked my spam folder as well. Whether there truly was a family emergency, I can't say. However, I do know that I was left waiting with no notice that the appointment had been canceled. If an email was never received, I would have expected a phone call or text instead. I've been hiring contractors for several exterior home projects this year, and unfortunately missed appointments have become a recurring problem. It's frustrating when companies don't seem to consider the homeowner's time. Based on my experience, I can't recommend a company that misses a scheduled appointment and fails to ensure the customer is notified in advance, especially one that markets itself as a high-end painting company.

We bought a house and began the process of painting it, but the project spiraled out of control…read moretime wise due to the impending birth of our son. We had $600 of paint for the whole-house interior painting sitting there, and were still on the painting of just the bedrooms. Nearly the entire house by the previous owners had been done up with just stupid colors, all deeply saturated. Painting them over became a rapid nightmare. Our master bedroom was this deep, deep gray. My wife had chosen a bright pretty sunflower yellow to replace it. I had no idea, at the time, that heavily saturated paints apparently don't bond so well to each other. After three top coats of paint with primer in it, you could still see the gray popping through. It took us 1/4 of the entire time we'd left ourselves to paint 6 rooms, and two long hallways to figure out that with this kind of color combo you needed to do a dedicated coat or two of pure primer--we had no painting experience. So out of time, I ended up hiring Paint The Town and Jim Knott's crew based off of just his Yelp reviews and a couple of conversations. This was after taking several other bids. Jim agreed to also use my own paint, to save costs. A week later, the work was done. Clean, professional, gorgeous work. My wife had not (due to the end of pregnancy and birth) seen the house since the day we closed and got the keys. She went from the old horrible colors to move-in day with a new son, and LOVED the work that Jim and his expert painter Daniel put together. It came out fantastic, and was some of the best money I've ever spent in my life. The final tally for that room, by the way, turned out to be our 3 top coats of paint plus primer, a VERY heavy coat of primer, then another 2 top coats of paint plus primer. In a few spots, 3 top coat. It was crazy, but it's done, and it looks great.
