I came in looking for a layered haircut with curtain bangs, i feel the hairstyle i chose was not too difficult and i walked out with uneven bangs and certain parts of my hair looking all uneven from different angles. this place is definitely great for a kids haircut but nothing more! i've had coworkers discuss their private life of smoking weed, which doesn't bother me, but i am your client let's keep it professional. and being told there is nothing that can be done while having another coworker trying to fix my hair and at this point i have bangs. the few times i have been here have not only been unprofessional, but just an overall unhappy experience. read more

Recently went in for a cut and color, I booked the appointment blind so I didnt know who I was with which is fine done it many times before. A gentlemen began applying color and I felt something was off and the next thing I know he's gone and I'm sitting there finally a manager comes over and says he's sick and another stylist was going to finish, no problem. Stylist comes out and she's pissed that she has to do this (mind you I have color on my hair already) she wont answer my questions she was very aggressive and then when she was washing my hair she got soap in my eye and walked away I had to jump up and flush my eye out. Another stylist came over and was very apologetic, but the damage was done. I had to go back and waste three more hours of my time to fix it. I have never been treated so poorly when getting a service. And the guy who started this was back and working on another person didnt bother to say anything to me like sorry i wasnt feeling well but I'm feeling better now nothing just ignored me. Okay, I'm totally sold. I rarely do anything fun or interesting with my hair but a new phase of life means a new chance to try things, right? So I heard this place was supposed to do more exciting styles and I booked an appointment with Page (L). While looking at the site, which is easy to navigate and easy to book on, incidentally, I noticed that the prices are pretty reasonable for the services as well- another bonus. At any rate, I initially booked a cut because, while I knew I wanted color, I didn't know what I wanted- I figured it out a few days later and then, wouldn't you know it, I called in and Page was totally willing to take the extra time to do color for me. I was already pleased. The young woman on the phone was polite as well, and when I left work to head down for my appointment I was already expecting good things. The place is clean, chic, without being over the top pretentious. I was greeted very nicely, offered water. When Page came to get me, she was only running five minutes late- now, I've worked the desk at a spa so I know how it can be.... only five minutes behind? I was impressed again. She was very attentive in listening to my general and possibly not very helpful ideas, and came up with an idea for the color that I may stick with so long it becomes a signature. I /loved/ what she did with my hair. The cut, the color- fantastic. While she was helping plan things out, she was clearly extremely knowledgeable, as well as easy to talk to- just what you'd want in a stylist. The entire experience was very positive and I booked my next appointment before I even left. I guess I'll be someone with cool hair for a while! read more

My before picture is the one with the hat. After spending $183, this is what I was left with. I only had about a half inch of brassy roots when I went in. I asked for highlights and low lights. I left 4 hours later with a full bleach job and about 6-8 inches of orange brassy roots. I did not get the partial refund that I requested. The last time I went here was awful and they offered me a partial refund. I was getting caramel/ brown color to my long hair & cover the grey and the lady turned my hair black and completely fried it. She didn't even dry it completely and I had terrible staining all around my hairline & all over my ears. When it dried it looked even darker. I have a really light complexion, so it looked like I was goth, which I am NOT. I wanted to cry and was embarrassed to go out for weeks. Since it has been about a year and I took time to try to let my hair repair a bit, today I thought I'd try again with a different stylist. Again, I asked for caramel/ brown color to cover the grey and left with nearly BLACK hair. She even had the manager come over for a second opinion before she mixed the color. This time I seemed to only have minor staining around my face which is expected when you get your air dyed. When I got to my mom's after the appointment, she couldn't believe it. She told me I should wash it again to try to at least get some of the darkness out and that I looked really washed out & it makes me look so pale & sickly! When I flipped my head into the sink, she said "Ow my goodness!." The back of my neck all the way down past my shirt was dyed terribly. We scrubbed for about 20-30 minutes. It looks like I have a toupee on. When you leave the salon, you expect to feel good about yourself. I feel, again, embarrassed and straight up horrible. My kids even said it doesn't match my face & why did I do that to myself, and can I please turn it back to the way it was. Normally, I love my hair. I'm glad my boyfriend is out of town. I'll either have to go somewhere else to get it fixed, risking more damage or keep washing it everyday until it starts to lighten up. Honestly, I feel like puking. After the stylist had finished getting the color on she said I would be sitting for 35 minutes & she would come check on it about half way through, which she never did. She came back 40-45 minutes later to wash it out. The cut turned out ok, but the color is horrible. I will never set foot in that place again. I didn't even complain, I just wanted to get out of there. The stylist said Urban Salon is a new talent salon and it showns. If you like your hair, don't go there. The lady in one of the other chairs was having problems too. Her skin reacted to the color & her scalp was beet red. Wonder if they left her's on too long too? read more

Treated myself to a hair color, did not really know my best choice. Mackenzie was wonderful! She has colored and cut my daughters hair, she has very thick hair, it looks beautiful, she is a perfectionist! For me, She did a beautiful balayage color, tinted my eyebrows, and of course my mini facial. I felt like a new person. I would highly recommend Mackenzie. read more

I was in a hairstyle slump. I needed something new. After reading all the wonderful reviews and the fact that it is an Aveda salon, I decided to give it a try. I hit the jackpot with Quinn. She is an amazing listener. That is huge! She's also very friendly. Not fake at all. She spent a lot of time with me to make sure she understood exactly what I wanted. My first visit was great! I was offered something to drink then whisked away by my stylist Nicole. I needed a cut and color so we talked about options - my only instruction was "don't make me look like a soccer mom." Nicole was upbeat and fun. We chatted as she applied the color but it never felt awkward or forced. During the shampoo, she gave me a mini facial which was quite relaxing and left my skin feeling dewy. She cut and styled my hair and even with the little direction I gave she created the perfect look! I've been getting non-stop compliments about the cut and color - a blend of pink, purple and blue. Last Friday (May 24), I decided to get my shoulder-length hair cut for the first time since last August. I went online and was able to get an appointment with Cheyenne for that afternoon. I took a few pictures with me as I pretty much knew what I wanted. I walked in a few minutes early, was greeted, and Cheyenne introduced herself. I was offered bottled water and had my hair shampooed and conditioned, and also opted for the complimentary mini-facial, which was quite relaxing and pleasant! Cheyenne listened to me, looked at my pictures, and asked questions before beginning to cut my hair. She is friendly and easy to talk to. I wanted sort of a long, piecey shag with a lot of movement and layers. She showed me the back of my hair after blow-drying and asked whether I wanted more layers, to which I answered "yes". She obliged and checked again with me. I mentioned that I wanted my hair to do more than just lie there, flat, and she asked if I was okay with volume. Once she knew I was, she used an Aveda volumizing spray to pump up my hair. I loved the new style and chose to purchase a bottle of the spray - there was no pressure to buy; it was completely my choice. I was treated with friendliness by all the staff with whom I had contact. Cheyenne understood what I wanted, and I felt completely comfortable putting my hair in her hands. I was a first time client to Urban Salon. When I booked online I chose Ali as she was the only stylist with a Saturday opening. Oh, how lucky I got! This young woman is a genuine hair/stylist guru. Ali consoulated w/ me to chose colors for both my base color and highlights. She was meticulous in mixing all the color components and also in how they were applied on my hair. I went into the salon feeling every bit my age and came out walking on air! I will be back to see Ali to keep my color and cut up-to-date and also for her positive and inspiring conversation. Go see this young woman and enjoy her talents. I truly felt amazing as I walked out the door and I got home my husband yelled WaHoo! Great job Ali!! read more

I can't even begin to describe the awful experience. I went as far as to show a picture and even state twice what I was going for, and yet the three thin highlights I asked for were incredibly botched. What's worse is that before they showed me how botched it was, they told me they were going to knock the price off quite a bit, which was condescending because the stylists could easily be heard from afar talking about how bad it looked. When I pointed out what was wrong with it after being shown (as if I needed to), I was told "oh, I see what you mean, we were on two different pages". After some more dye, they got it to look reasonable enough to the image shown - although it's still surrounded by color that has since turned red in hue. They never bothered owning up to their mistakes, snapped a picture even, and then treated me like nothing bad ever happened and as if everything had been resolved. I went in asking for three small streaks of highlights. What I got was a few surrounded by splashes of red, and I sat there for 3.5 hours and paid $47 dollars for this mess. I have one here twice before and had good service they were a little slow but the person I went to was wonderful. She has since left. This time I skip set up another appointment unfortunately because of traffic I was 15 minutes late. I'd set up for haircut and color and when I got there at 6 o'clock being they close at eight I was told they didn't have enough time to ours was enough not was not enough time for them to cut and color my hair normally it takes an hour and 35 minutes. I found this very poor customer service and was told I could either have it cut or colored but not both if that was the case I should've been told that before I even made the appointment I seriously doubt 15 minutes making it an two hours and 15 minutes would've been enough time for them if that is the case I would not use them again and I would not suggest anyone else do either thank you read more
