Instead of addressing safety issues, their solution was to move my beginner team up a division without notice, after we had already paid and no refunds. I would strongly warn others that if you value fair play or basic safety, look elsewhere.

Jessica the instructor is a great guide, flexible, informative and patient. This class isn't cheap but they supply ALL THE ART SUPPLIES and we've painted in acrylic, oils, and watercolors and drawn with charcoal and pencil. Paper, solvent, linseed oil. I was really nervous the first class, but the piece turned out better than I expected. I find the class calming, almost meditative.

The disrespect and lack of care and communication is horrible business. There's no accountability and to allow a narcissist like Nina to ruin a farm and hurt animals is insane. I'm not one of their traditional students but I found that they had a small judo program there and was interested in that. I couldn't find much more information on it so I called and left a message. Master Nunan called me back and asked why I was interested in judo; the club isn't competition oriented but a way for folks to still practice without a lot of the high-impact. Since I was looking for a supplement to other stuff it was a good fit. I was welcomed right away and allowed to practice for months, MONTHS without paying a single dime. I gained a lot of confidence with my throws and it wasn't until my first belt promotion that I started paying dues so that I could be officially recognized. The he majority of students here practice Tang Soo Do so the judo contingent is smaller and tight knit. I definitely enjoy seeing the same faces week in, week out. We even have annual Christmas gathering just to sit and chat off the mats. When I've had to stop practicing due to health reasons, pausing was simple and was told even though I won't be able to practice I can come in an observe anytime. Truly one of my highlights since moving to Austin.

I had a great experience today at the Twin Lakes Family YMCA. I was a member about 10 years ago…read moreafter having significant surgery but once I went back to work, I gave it up. Today, at the reception desk, there was a woman by the name of Amy, she was delightful, and although I had a boatload of paperwork to do, she was very helpful and answered all my questions. She then walked me over and showed me how to sign in electronically with my new membership card, (which I was so grateful as now I will know how to do it without addl. assistance) and not worry about checking in! I then took a walk-through the facility paying special attention to the pool areas. Amy had advised me that there was Silver Sneaker Exercise Class at multiple times two days a week, but there was an extra fee attached to it. Once all my paperwork was completed I went walking down the halls to check out everything that was in progress. The pool area is very nice. Very clean with lots of options , there are lanes open in the big pool for lap swimmers. There are classes that happen in the big pool and lessons. I decided it was worth the $40 a month to take the silver sneaker therapy pool class. As It will help me develop a routine. On my way out. I saw a display of T-shirts in various colors and sizes that all had the YMCA logo. I decided it would be nice to have one so I found my size and took it back to the desk where Amy checked me out. She also helped me complete the forms necessary to take the class and made sure they had room as there are a maximum of 10 people , ensuring that you have a good experience. I'm very excited to start tomorrow. I told Amy she really is an exceptional representative of the Twin Lakes YMCA as her customer service is exquisite!!! More to come......

Ms. Erin has a great, relaxed way of teaching the kids but still allowing them to make artistic decisions. The art show was cool though not by kiddo's cup of tea but a valuable experience for her. I have already recommended Art+Academy/Ms. Erin to friends. In contrast, we are on day one of a museum art camp this week and my kiddo says the teacher isn't good. She said, the instructor gave no advice on how to draw 3D shapes and most importantly didn't come around to help us/comment on our drawings but was reading a book instead. For anyone who is weighing options, I highly recommend Art Plus Academy. We will definitely be back next summer!
