I remember I got a couple of free coupons from Wawa. I had a date that afternoon, and she met me here; she lived in Frederick. We walked around the beautiful park. Perhaps, there could be some more shade as it was lots of open space, but there were areas with trees close to Carroll Creek. Trails connect to the downtown Carroll Creek Park for an easy walk, which we walked to there on our date. This is a solid park with some amentities.

We enjoyed al the wonderful decorations of the boats and had a lovely time. I was starting to panic a bit since all the stores were closed and we all needed to use the restroom but we found a public restroom in the parking lot area. Thank goodness they have that. We came from an hour away and it was difficult to find a restroom around. Overall we had an amazing time.

Numerous kid-friendly facilities, both outdoor but also an indoor nature center were available. There were plenty of live nonhuman animals and some chatty humans inside the nature center, which is now open on weekends. The sights on the outdoor trails were numerous, and tables to eat at were plentiful. All the facilities were clean and new. As a play date for kiddos (not mine), it was very impressive.

There are plenty of benches and shaded areas so you don't cook in the sun. Take a peek at the huge gaggle of friendly ducks who don't run away when you approach. Don't feed the ducks; there's a fine for doing so. Parking is free along the road on West 2nd St. Recommended--the usuals frequent the park: moms with strollers, pet owners, and even fishermen.

It was full so I guess people are doing the right thing. It's definitely worth it. Beautiful scenery and different levels to explore. Great for hiking or just taking in the views. They have a restroom area available with plenty of parking. The gazebos are off limits now but there is plenty of areas to see. we plan on coming back to explore the next higher mountain level. I know it will be amazing.

If the first one is full, they will mark it and direct you to the parking spots near the campsites. The park itself has a number of well-marked trails with varying lengths. The black trail was great for our family and our toddler walked most of the way. It also leads to a few overlooks looking out into the Maryland countryside. Parking does cost, but it's on an honor system and cheap. $3 for Maryland residents and $5 for non-Maryland residents.

There are trash cans and benches and overall it is well maintained. There is really no shaded area to speak of which is something to consider for sunny days.

This is a huge park, great for camping, hiking, walking, beach relaxing and more…read more Be aware: constructions are currently going on at different places of the park including the main entrance. After the constructions are completed, the park will start to request campers or day visitors to make reservations online during holidays and weekends visitors. Atmosphere: it's a large park filled with nature's love, trees, water, birds, logs, dirt paths, bugs, wildlife, fresh air and tables benches roads for visitors. Service: staff in the visitors' center are friendly and knowledgeable. Value: you cannot put a price tag on your love of nature and experience of outdoors. Parking: there is no issue to find parkings inside the park, just depending on how far you are willing to walk. Beautiful park, highly recommend.
