According to my husband this was a proper bodega. Inside looked like a small mart with chips, snacks, frozen food, cold drinks, wine and beer, gum, etc. We also got a bunch of drinks made by an awesome guy wearing a tarot card, The Moon, t shirt. We got 2 caramel frappes with oat milk, a couple of hot coffees, and a strawberry smoothie. It was all tasty! There was no indoor seating, which was fine for us, as we wanted to sit outdoors! You know the server is a good soul when a fly barges it's way through the window, and instead of hitting it with a newspaper- the guy traps it using a cup and a piece of paper, and let's the fly out the front door (possibly minus a leg or two). Urbo is the best! The entire crew are just vibes! I get a frappe from this spot (pretty much) everyday, and it never misses! They have everything from Summer Shandy to NA Ginger Beer to Pasta Sauce & Noodles to kitty litter to GF potato chips to $10 bottles of wine to PIZZAS and breakfast sandwiches! Urbo is my place! Jen is amazing. What a lovely personable young lady! This is a great Bodega like the ones back east. They have great wine, food/snacks, Items you need to pick up, and of course a small coffee shop. It was all perfect. I will be back many times for sure. They have a wine bottle shop inside, so it is not just crap wine. They carry the good, unique stuff. URBO is brand new, conveniently located right off Fillmore and 7th Ave easy to get too from any location. URBO is located on the ground floor of a brand new gorgeous Apartment complex. URBO opened 4 days prior, and it still preparing menu and drink menus, very excited to see in the next few weeks. URBO also has a section of items needed such as snacks and drinks, for customers. Very convenient for Apartment renters as well as patrons from local areas. Food; Waffle with Nutella and Strawberry, was delicious - waffle crisp with nutella drizzled on top with Strawberry bites. Ordered a Iced Latte, and Barista recommended adding Jasmine, the hint of Jasmine was just perfect to add a little sweetness. Nestled in what is (for now) a relatively sleepy corner of Downtown, Urban Bodega (aka URBO) feels like something of a throwback to some of the small convenience stores I used to see line the Roosevelt Row neighborhood. Back when Downtown was still a neighborhood where only the most diehard entrepreneurs dared to tread, you could find one of these small neighborhood shops selling everything from wine and beer, to snacks, to cooking essentials, and even a few household cleaning items. The relatively new Pure Fillmore apartment complex is currently the first of what will undoubtedly be many new apartment and condo complexes lining 7th Avenue in Downtown. But for now, the nearest full sized grocery store requires a car. All the more reason URBO's location makes sense. You'll find URBO on the bottom floor of the Pure Fillmore Apartments on Fillmore Street just east of 7th Avenue. The brainchild of DeSoto Central Market alum Shawn Connelly, you enter here through the front patio area (where there's seating for eight by the way). Inside, its a whole lot of stuff mixed into a small space. Behind the counter, you can get coffee, tea, or even a sandwich made on the spot. In front of the counter, it's essentially a small independent convenience store with many of the things you'd expect. Candy bars, meds, condiments, snacks, microwavable items, beer, wine, soda, as well as odds and ends like tissue paper, shampoo, and storage bags. I can well imagine some Downtown college students living in the apartments upstairs too hung over or too tired to drive two miles to Safeway and instead opting for a stop here. For my first stop here on a Saturday morning, I opted to get a quick morning pick me up. A tea and a sandwich. I got their Salted Caramel Iced Tea (also available hot) and their Turkey Sausage Egg & Cheese sandwich on an english muffin. Both made to order. Total cost including tax: $10. Now to be fair, they prepared the sandwich in part using a microwave so we're not talking gourmet here. Still, the sandwich hit the spot and the sausage in particular was very tasty. I was also very happy with the tea. Almost tasted like a southern style sweet tea of sorts with those caramel accents. A solid breakfast. So there you have it. A locally owned business filling a need in an emerging neighborhood. Nothing pretentious. Just a good, straight forward, progressive independent convenience store. Even if you don't live in this quiet corner of Downtown, its worth a look. Or a sip and bite and it was in my case. read more

Love URBO! We're here multiple nights a week for a mid-dinner wine grab, or to check out their craft beer selections. They also have great breakfast sandwiches and just started making pizzas as well! It's a convenient store that has so much, and has saved our missing ingredient dinners many times. read more

Quick and convenient little shop. I didn't order any special drinks so I feel like I am missing out but I ordered their burger ($7.60) Don't get me wrong this was not the world's burger but it was good. The place was hard to find on apple maps and seemed to inside the apt complex, but it's facing Fillmore and has a patio. read more

FIVE STARS if you live here! Argh...this is one of those reviews that is both a 5 STAR review and a 3 STAR and it pains me to 3 star it. However, I believe that most of whom will read my review will not live here or in the surrounding area and as such the 3 Star review will more aptly apply. Like I say above, if you live here, in the apartments above, or immediately surrounding this is an awesome little place that has a few sundries as well as a great cup of coffee/late, and a pastry/snack. They also said they were going to be adding some beer taps for happy hour on your way into your apartment. In fact I would probably be stopping by everyday on my way in and out if I lived here. Now, if you don't live here, there are much better places/coffee shops for you to take your time to seek out and stop at. Access is not easy, at least when I was there it did not readily have access from the street but you instead need to walk through the apartment entrance. This creates a small annoying issue of being asked by the sales office what they can do for you every time you're just trying to get a cup of coffee. Actually, a lot of the features that make it great for someone that lives in this building are reasons it makes it not so great for those of us seeking a place out. If you life here, GO HERE (without a doubt), If you don't, then seek out another good spot. read more

Delicious coffee drinks!!! The menu is typical, but you can tell from the spirit in the atmosphere that they give so much care and attention to each drink then your standard chain store. Great spot to pick up some quick necessities and snack as well. URBO fits in perfectly with the downtown atmosphere and urban vibes of the local Phoenix neighborhood. Craftful, artisan, soulful and true to the spirit coffee drinks establish this place as a worthy local spot, however the wonderful friendly staff whom all seem to take ownership make this place a regular stop for me now. URBO is super adorable, super convenient coffee shop/conscience store (soon to be bar) right on 6th Ave and Fillmore. You can buy everything from your morning joe to a bar of soap to a single condom here. It's quite incredible. Cute dog-friendly patio outside and amazing waffles! Soon they'll have more breakfast and lunch foods as well :-). Great place - and Xavie (the bartista) was SO welcoming and wonderful. read more

I don't understand some of the hype around Urbo coffee... It taste just like any normal coffee shop with a half decent barista and any espresso machine. The latte's weren't bad... but definitely were not anything special. Very limited flavor selection and the guy that was working seemed disinterested in our coming in for a latte. read more
