Clean bus, great vibes !! Went out for my friend Rachel's birthday and AJ was a kind and considerate driver!

I had reserved a party bus for my wedding in Ames on July 9th. I called them the night before to confirm the bus. They never showed. When I sent them an email - Steve Casteel talked down to me and said that I gave them the wrong address and never told them the location of the church. Wrong address - The address I gave was what I found on the church website but google maps directed them out of the way. Google obviously failed them here because if they looked around they would notice that they weren't anywhere near the number address of the church (2622 vs 5910 lincoln way). I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if I were the driver in this situation, knowing that I was looking for a church and directed to this area I would have called someone to get to the bottom of this. I never got a call from them. Finally in the same email Steve said that no where in the contract or emails did I mention the name of the church. Well, how is it my fault that the contract doesn't have a line for "what's the name of the place we're picking you up from?" Thank goodness I talked them into not charging me but I would never recommend them to anyone. I know for a fact a friend of my brother also had a terrible experience with them when organizing a bar crawl and wanted to use their services. I would not recommend this company at all, we ordered bus #3 for 20 people, they show up to where they picked us up in bus #4, no air conditioning, this bus looks like it's from 1980, it was so embarrassing to show up to the state fair in, after the fair they picked us up in the limo bus & it was really nice, minus the fact that it smelt like a sewer, and no one wanted to drink anymore because the smell made everyone sick, honestly the worst party bus service we have ever went through. & we paid $750 for the whole disaster, I honestly think we deserve a refund. read more

For my 21st birthday I had planned to have the queen bus and paid in advance for it. We called early that week to confirm it and make sure we had that bus and everything. When they arrived, they arrived with a small black bus with no handle bars to hang on to, just a loose rope so you couldn't even stand up on the bus. They also brought us back an hour earlier than we asked and paid for. When we asked the driver to drive for the right amount of time we were told no. Avoid them when renting your bus!!!!!!! read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in ANY situation or business transaction. Owner is ignorant and thinks it is ok for his bus driver to do a hit and run and put the lives of individuals on the bus in danger. The bus driver also let complete strangers on the bus with all of our belongings, while we were in a bar. Lights on bus didn't work as advertised and driver had no idea where he was going the whole night. Do yourself a HUGE favor and don't use this company. read more

We used Urge's LimoBus for my bridal party after our wedding on May 3, 2014. First of all, their new LimoBus is SWEET. It was huge, so that was great for our wedding party to be able to bring on their spouses/significant others. Our driver was Dennis, and he was great. He was on time and very attentive to our needs and plans. I was in communication with Corey beforehand, and he was also great. VERY responsive, which I really appreciated. My only issue was the price, BUT it was a prom weekend, so that was part of it. We thought it was totally worth the money because our bridal party had a great time, and so did we! My letter to the bus line after my wedding: Hello, I wanted to report a truly frustrating experience I had with your bus line on my Wedding night. It was the only thing I consider to have gone wrong at my event. I had spoken on the phone with Corey three times prior to the wedding, discussed the plan of action and confirmed the number of people who could be on the bus on each occasion. I was rather rudely informed the night of that Corey is not the owner and Corey was "not here right now." We had discussed that the bus would arrive at 10 p.m. (because I, under no circumstances, wanted to be waiting on your account) but that people would not be boarding the bus until around 11:30 p.m. - I did not know when exactly, hence I asked that the bus arrived early. I was told the bus driver must be paid before anyone BOARDED the bus and I agreed to pay for 5 hours from 10 p.m. until 3 p.m. Around 10:30 p.m. I was REMOVED from my reception, of 200+ people, to go speak to the bus driver because, and I quote from 2 different people "He is outside freaking out." And indeed, he was. He needed to be paid RIGHT then, didn't matter that we had committed and signed a contract to pay for the time he spent sitting there, he "couldn't just sit around." Direct quote. Honestly, to the contrary, that is what I ultimately was paying him to do. Weather he received the money while he waited or right before the group boarded - I am unsure why it was such a large issue for him. I would have paid in advance had I known, and I did ask Corey if that was preferred and was told not to worry about that or a deposit. The driver was extremely rude and absolutely unapologetic that I had left my reception to speak with him, actually yelling at me because he had "called me several times and left me a voice mail." If you don't understand why I did not answer my phone for his majesty, well, you've never been the bride at a wedding with 200 people in attendance. After my wedding coordinator resolved the issue with this man, as I was getting absolutely nowhere and was nearly in tears from frustration, everyone boarded the bus around 11:30 - as planned. NOT as planned was an issue with the number of people. I was told by Corey THREE times that this bus sat 35 but could fit about 50, essentially that we could fit as many people as there was standing room. I was extra sure to CONFIRM this with you so many times because, we have no shortage of friends. I made a list of 50 people. The bus driver started telling people we were at capacity and shaking his head saying "no, it only sits 35" when the bus wasn't even full, and when I begged him that I had spoken with Corey about this, confirming, he informed me that "Well actually Corey is not the owner" and that we could call him but he wouldn't answer - and no answer we got. I nearly had to get on my knee's in my WEDDING DRESS to BEG this man to allow more people on the bus. He was not happy about it, and it was only after I said "please sir, this is my wedding" nearly FIVE times that he said "fine, but I could get in a lot of trouble for this." After begging and being made feel liable for something that I had CONFIRMED three times with your company - I was not happy. This man was not nice to anyone, he was not reasonable or understanding or apologetic and offered no explanations except for essentially that Corey either could not have advised me of that, that what Corey said was irrelevant or that no one told him that plan so I must be lying. I fell asleep on the bus and I did not look at the driver on my way out. We had over $200 set aside for our drivers tip. I am not apologetic in saying that I am unsure how much he was tipped - I don't feel bad about it. Yes, I worked in the food service industry for 7 year prior to going into advertising and I am fully aware of the importance of tips. Unfortunately, unless your company could possibly offer me any explanation for this incident, I assure you you will lose far more than $200 worth of business in the future from myself and the 50+ people who were witnesses to this situation. It is a truly unfortunate circumstance as I am generally overzealous about blasting my good reviews of companies which I endorse. Corey was so fantastically accommodating on the phone, he truly made me feel as if everything would be great and I wouldn't have to worry. Of course, I do worry, which is why I confirmed three times. This is a terrible company, ordered The Queen and didn't receive the Queen, and was not notified. Then our bus driver showed up 15-20 minutes late. We then had it rented till 2, but we forced to be off the bus by 1:45. I called to try and see if they could refund since the bus we ordered was $100, but was given a run around... We used urge in October for a Halloween/birthday party. First of all, after turning in my rental agreement, I never got any sort of confirmation that the bus was even reserved. I had to call them a week before the event to make sure that we even had the bus for sure. Not great customer service from the start. Let me continue. When the bus arrived, it had a headlight out. This was an evening event and we were travelling between small towns to go to different Halloween events that bars were hosting. So being on back roads in small town Iowa with one headlight isn't the best idea due to the large amount of wildlife that runs about. That made myself and other guests a bit uneasy, and additionally it could have gotten the bus stopped and ticketed since per Iowa code 381.325, Headlamps on motor vehicles- "Every motor vehicle other than a motorcycle or motorized bicycle shall be equipped with at least two headlamps with at least one on each side of the front of the motor vehicle, which headlamps shall comply with the requirements and limitations set forth in this chapter". On top of that, we informed the driver and he was fully aware the light was out and didn't seem one bit concerned. After we loaded up and began the journey to our first location, we noticed something else. The speedometer was not functioning. The pointer on the speedometer stayed at 0 mph the entire evening. Therefore, our driver had absolutely no idea on what speed he was going. We employed the snapchat application during the drive from our first location to our second and we were going 41 mph in a 55 mph zone. Not only is this unsafe as the driver was not utilizing his hazard lights to signal a low speed, but it is illegal. Per Iowa Code 321.381, Movement of unsafe or improperly equipped vehicles: "It is a simple misdemeanor punishable as a scheduled violation under section 805.8A, subsection 3, for any person to drive or move or for the owner to cause or knowingly permit to be driven or moved on any highway any vehicle or combination of vehicles which is in such unsafe condition as to endanger any person, or which does not contain those parts or is not at all times equipped with such lamps and other equipment in proper condition and adjustment as required in this chapter, or which is equipped with with one or more unsafe tires or which is equipped in any manner in violation of this chapter." Furthermore, this speedometer issue also ending up skewing our timeline for the evening. We had an itinerary that we were trying to follow so that we could get to a certain amount of locations and have enough time to enjoy ourselves at each location. Since the drive time between locations ended up being nearly double since the driver was going so far below the speed limit, we ended up having to cut all of our stops short. I was not impressed with Urge for sending out a bus that was unsafe to be on the road and not fully functioning. I notified the company of my dissatisfaction via email and they never responded, which I found to be very startling as you would assume a business would want their customers to be pleased with the service provided, especially when the service is at a cost of $550+. They were obviously not concerned or gave one thought to the problems they caused. Due to their lack of a response, I notified the Better Business Bureau of the issues that we had dealt with. They sent multiple notifications to the company to advocate for me since my own attempt went ignored. Again, the company refused to respond. This utterly astounds me. What poor business practices. This company clearly DOES NOT care about their paying customers, nor about the image they present. Sending out transportation that isn't in working order is unsafe and altogether unacceptable. I would highly suggest using another company. I have used multiple other companies in the Des Moines area and have never had any sort of issues like those that occured with Urge. Use 515 or Top Hat if you want to get your money's worth. read more
